@mickeyncube Here's how I did it. Connect up to the computer using the midi cable (this is better if you have 2) and then play you music, piano part say, and record the midi data. The go into Cubase and clean up anything you want to, remove dud notes etc.. Then, instead of using a VST on that track set the track output to midi (hence the 2 cables). This will then send you cleaned up version to the Juno D. Use the audio out to send to your interface and record the Juno's sounds to an audio track
The beat to this composition sounds exactly like the default beat in the Casio WK3500/3800 series of low-end workstations. Not that its a bad thing, just an observation.
any of various electronic, sometimes portable consoles or modules, usually computerized, for creating, modifying, and combining tones or reproducing the sounds of musical instruments by controlling voltage patterns, operated by means of keyboards, joysticks, sliders, or knobs.
Cubase SX3, both screens are for one computer. I used dual output on my graphics card. The left hand screen shows the arrangement, the right displays the mixer.
For the money i think it sounds good and will suit some, but to me bass, drums ect; all sound unreal it's just programmed synthethised music that sounds plastic, nothing sounds like the real thing. I have a micro korg and once you begin to understand how to use it good sounds can be achieved, i guess it's maybe just a case of budget with these synths, i'm not sure if you can achieve that REAL sound from the cheaper ones.
Yeah, there was a pop and a flash followed by a trip back to the shop!! lol. I bought the Juno D because it was small and light, not too much to carry around with me when I'm rehearsing. It has come in really useful when recording some other tracks with a synthetic sound to them. The sounds are cool, just don't expect the most acoustically accurate piano sounds, but after all... it is a synthesizer.
It depends, for what do you want to use it. Juno-d has great sounds like pianos, drum kits. Also you have there great phrase arpeggiator and rhythm guide. But synth sounds and editing sucks. Great for rock. Roland SH-201 is great synthesizer and easy to use. Best for first. Of course you cant find sounds like piano or drums, because it's virtual analog. Microkorg has AMAZING possibilities + vocoder. But it's very hard to program, and because of small keys hard to play. Best for trance/ambient.
i've played all three and the only one I put money down for was the microkorg. I'd say sh201 in 2nd and Juno D in last.. the microkorg has been underrated for quite a while and only really coming out to shine now.. check out stuff by Dorian Concept.. all his sounds are microkorg.
@bw72563 I think perhaps you were right in your suggestion. I've just posted my first attempt at an advert. You should find it on my page called "HTC Advert". Thanks for the suggestion, hope you like!
Hey there mate, quick question. How do I setup cubase to use the sounds on my Juno D?
Cheers

Call me odd but, is that not the reason why they are called synthesizers? Just a thought... lol
