"Innocent-looking chests that make surprise attacks. Ooh, how fun. Not seen so often. :D" really? Try every Final Fantasy game ever made. Ever heard of "Monster-in-a-box"? nothing new, but this game is still better than those shitty D&D games Capcom made years later. Not like there ever has been a good D&D video game.
Hail Yoko Shimomura, for creating such musical masterpieces for this game, she's wonderful! As for the game itself, I don't see too many differences from the SNES version apart from little details, such as the bunnies. Perhaps the gameplay could've changed, but I can't remember if there's any difference now. Awesome game, really wonderful memories come with this, thanks for uploading it! The Cave of Hydra has the best videogame tune ever, in my opinion.
@venian646 Yeah Vanillaware does give that vibe off with their video games. Even their earlier works like Odin's Sphere and Muramusa and Princess Crown remind me a lot of these classic arcade games. Great game company.
Oh hell yes. I remember playing this beast on my SNES. The Wizard was always my fav. He's the only magic user in video game history that has just as manly a battle cry as any warrior or fighter out there.
He's an example to live up to, that not all mages have to be skirt-wearing pussies that are the fantasy equivalent to nerds.
