the design line heat protectent is very good but i would also recommend you stay away form olive oil hair mosturizing lotion.. makes the hair heavy and greasy but every other product from then I believe to be amazing.
I DID NOT USE ALL OF THESE PRODUCTS AT THE SAME TIME. As I've said about 10 times already, these products that I have accumulated over about 6 or 7 years. Oh my gosh... why don't you all get that??!!?!??! And for the record, I have hair that is about 1 1/2 inches past my shoulder at resting. This video will be taken down soon. Thanks for all of the kind comments and may God help the ones who can't read..
water based moistures are the best to use for black hair its gives it the elasticity and provides a big amount of protein that the hair requires, what you should do is avoid products that have cheap fillers like petrolatum, lanolin, or mineral oils they are not moisturising they just lock out the essential moisture your hairs needs. i think you really need to do ur research if your going to make videos about hair.. another problems is that you used 2 many products. just tryna help :) God bless!

@TheChrystiella nnooo it really does not it all depends on what products you are using and how much of it...or if you wash your hair 2 little or 2 much. who ever you are getting your information from is misinformed. water or aqua is an essential part of hair growth. i have been doing my research. if you really want to know what your hair needs and doesnt do your research. a very good book is “The Science of Black Hair”.....again i advice you to do your reseach. x :)
How exactly can water dry anything out? It is pretty much the epitome of moisture. When i started my healthy hair journey I was afraid of washing it too often as well, but then I realized how much my hair loves water. I spray water into it every day to keep it moist and wash it twice a week. Hair especially African American hair (it is the driest texture of hair) loves water and moisture. Don't use oil based moisturizers only water based!!! My hair feels so wonderful now!
Also, use pure oils on your hair(olive, coconut, jojoba) after you use a water based moisturizer to seal the moisture into the strands. If you are using an oil based moisturizer to help straighten your hair, think about it, you heat oil up to cook things, you are cooking your hair. Also don't detangle your hair unless it is wet. The best time is before you rinse out your conditioner. Also washing your hair in sections will keep it from tangling in the shower♥
Your problem is not the products but the different type of products that you are combining in your hair. Stick to one line that work and u will see better results.
I say, "stick to a chosen few, tried and true products". You do not have to use a bunch of different products for healthy hair. This is coming from a black woman with bra strap length hair. Once I stopped going to the salons who insisted on chopping on 3 inches per visit and using crap products my hair flourished.
wow I cant believe so many pple disliked this video smh -__- the organics products have always been the best for me but they just didnt work for her. it may just be because my texture is different Im not gonna get upset with her for sayin she doesn't like them, everyones hair is diff figure out what works for u :)

I thought your video was great you did a good job of explaining why they did not work for your you. Which I have brought all the same products and more. I have purchased products you can only get online,Health food stores, Salons. You name it I tried it. I had relaxed damaged hair chopped it off. started fresh. It's sad that most black hair products lye and are bad for your hair.I have tried Ojon the entire line is GREAT right down to the leave in oil

Motions and Ion products work for me. I use Motions Weightless Condionting Shampoo, Motions Weightless Detangling Conditioner, and Ion Heat Protectant. They work great for me everyone'ss hair is different. These products make my hair soft the Ion heat production wasn't "Toward white people hair" to me. I'm African American and I just start transitioning out of relaxed hair.

Love your video. I have wasted soooo much money on some of these products and others. Honestly, I'm at a lost as to what will really work on my natural 4c hair; really dry thick hair. I can say that if you wear your hair natural, S-curl spray seems to really work well for my bad hair lol :) I use it as a moisturizer.
For all the people having a hard time finding the right hair products for your hair, I would recommend buying from either Sally's Beauty Supply or from Walgreens since both stores offer a no question money back guarantee. I do not work for nor am I getting anything for saying such but I shop at both places and the employees do tell me at least half of the time I am in the stores. I've wasted enough of my own money searching for what works for me, too. :O
any cosmetic product can't stop hair loss.visit stophairlossfast.wordpress. com or hairlossbesttreatment.blogspot. com/ to know why you lose your hair and how to solve this problem!
don not copy/paste the links or if you do so just make sure there are not spaces between "blogspo/wordpress and dot com"
I will say that i am a product junkie as well and sometimes we are so amped to try everything that we don't use the products right. I will also say that some of these products aren't good for hair in general. It's a good video for documenting your journey. Years down the line you can refer back. Now I do think you are using water based moisturizers wrong (based on your comment). You should try to use one on wet hair only. I think it will work out better.
Good video. Most of these products have mineral oil and petroleum in them. My hair grows faster (about 1-1.5 inches every two months) in braids barely being washed, conditioned, or moisterized, than using there products everyday. They clog up the pores and stunt your growth (making it seem like your hair only grows about 3 inches per year). I used a huge amount of fantasia and my hair to be very dry in less than an hour.
I have straight NAPPY hair. lol i cannot stretch no more than a month. I HAVE to have a relaxer. but i have spent alot of money on products and it did nothing for my hair. so i just don't do anything to my hair until it's time to go to the beauty salon. plus, i use good ole fashion hair grease and my hair still has movement b/c i don't glop it on. my hair use to be like SUPER short but after i quit puttin a million AND one things in it, it started growing on its own. oh well lol
When did you get a chance to use any of these products?...LOL...Ughhhh What are you using right now? Why don't you try to stick to 3 products sweetie. I think you use these products once and now you're saying you don't like any of them, what type of hair do you have? You are cracking me up.LMAO
I say just buy professional product only. The price is high but worth it. You don't have 2 waste money buying stuff like this. And they have good return policies if u buy from the right places.
Girl you can go ahead and send me that proclaim gloss and profectiv lotion. That's my ish lol. Why did you buy the whole aisle of products? You should probably use natural products if you are having such a hard time looking for what you want.
I hate every product you showed! Lol and the crazy part is how much they charge for the products so its like I was paying to have dry brittle yet greasy hair! Never again! But you should try Nexxus Promend shampoo and conditioner its AMAZING! Its all I use now. Great stuff. :-D
Ok dear, no upset feelings here ok, but all im saying some of those are so really good products, yea i had an interest that's why i watch it, because i want to see the products and know why or to see if you use any i use before that i decide not to buy myself, i will know im not the only one who had the same problem. But its ok everyone hair is different.
@kimopple everything you said contradicts everything you said in your earlier post. I think you were looking for a video with all positive opinions about the products. No hurt feelings on this end either. I don't understand why it affected you so much that you said I have issues. Maybe I misread your tone. But when you start with a statement like that, I assume it's meant to be mean. And I don't understand why people would want to be mean over a hair product video. It's really not that serious.
@kimopple Maybe add some extra coconut oils to the products that you can add additional oils to. especially products that is not heavy enough for your hair.
@kimopple the products are not the problem but more of each person's hair. for example i hate the feeling of the Motion's hairdress at 6:34 mins on my hair while my sis seems to love it.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
you have issues. all those products are good, i use some of them and they works, well not everything that works for my hair might not work for your hair, so try something else and stop trying to discourage sonmeone else.
@kimopple OK... It's called products I'LL never buy again. And I do say in my video that you may want to try some of them.. Everyone's hair is different like you said. I'm not trying to discourage anyone. I didn't like those products. I let y'all know what type of hair I have to maybe save you some money. Why did you even watch my video? Didn't the title not explain what it was going to be about. You must have had some interest in it.
@kimopple Just because these products are good to you, doesn't mean they are good for someone else. You don't know how another person's head of hair will react to these products. I'm sure there are products that you don't like that someone else may say are terrible.
@kimopple.......I think what shortiebynature does here is quite useful...if we all talk about what did not work for us, we will find some common ones that one should not bother with..... if you really dont like it, pls do your own video or pass this one...simple...
yea i wasted too much money on design line. I dont think its for black people either. I dont care what no one says. I kept using it, & every time it made my hair dry & it broke off. but I didnt know how to care for my hair that much & finally just stop using it. She showed some other items I stopped using & I havent even tried the other things. & dont plan to.
i have the same fine thin hair when its relaxed just like you but ive used profective and its worked. i just dont apply a lot to my scalp, just a small thin layer every other day. maybe you should try sticking to one product cause often times they do the same things as all of those products combined. but do what works for you best :)
Try this product called "LEG GLO", you can buy online and they always have great deals, they have an entire website, it is amazzing. And you can put it on your whole body without it being sticky or having to wash it off. Im addicted!!
I used to buy the hair mayonaise it actually did stop the breakage in my hair and i LOVED how it made my hair feel but I didn't really care for the smell thats why i stoped using it, but it was one of the better products for my hair particularly but my hair is thick and curly so It probably depends on ur texture
My sis my niece an i all use the profective line and it works for us. the ic carrot infused hair polish works wonders on dry hair without weighing it down and it smells great. i have used the ic leave in moisturizer in my braids and sew in weaves for years and it has kept my hair moisturized. it all depends on your hair type, your regimen as well as your environment. but i cant knock all black hair products. you just have to try them and see what works best for you.
Those products look full. How can you use something for a day or two and expect to see dramatic results??? You have to use them for a longer period of time and everything seems to be too damn heavy for your hair!! What's not heavy is too light for your hair... Shave it off then!
@ConceitedDiamond9999 I give everything a good try. I'd say most of them were used for a least a month. Some were used for years because I wanted so badly for them to work. Heck..I wanted to get my money's worth. And I don't know what u want from me.. If I had used them heavily, way more would be missing from those bottles. Sorry that my video affected u so profoundly. Or maybe it didn't. That's just the tone I'm getting from all of those exclamation marks.. lol
These videos are all confusing me. Some people use products and say it works and in someone else's video it says not to :( Leaves me confused and I end up with a bunch of different products in my bathroom. But like others said I guess it just depends on your hair and it's trial and error. Right now I'm using a product that many people say NO! to but I'll use it for a month or so and see.
@Elephunktabulous Yep. Trial and error. But learn from me and try sample sizes. Or do your research first. And I recommend not shopping for hair products in walmart.
@ShortieByNature0711 I get hair products from walmart like tresseme heat tamer spray and garnier fructis leave in comditioneryou can get them at any drugstore and they work for me
i just wanted to add that idk about the profectiv growth lotion but i do use the growth shampoo and the deep cond leave in and i must say it has aided in my hair growth along with my other products i use...im natural now and dont use the profectiv as much but from what i have used...it has helped me!...
@KiKiForeverBBZ - Amen to that KiKiForeverBBZ. These products just lighten our wallets. I just ditched all those products 6 months ago and headed to the Indian stores.
I agree with the majority, all these products look good but they're not good. However, a few things on the beauty supply shelves do work, forreal :~) Also, its all about how you take care of it; it starts with you first. Drink plenty of water, eat healthy foods and exercise. A lot of people dont realize being healthy helps the hair, too, stay healthy and grow.
This is a good video. Most of the hair products out there (especially relaxers) are bad for the hair. DO NOT use any shampoo with sodium laureth sulfate, especially if your hair is relaxed because your hair will go down the drain. Before I started using natural shampoos, my hair was shedding so much. There are many recipes for natural hair products online. I make a lit of mine. And remember that sonenod the best products that you can use in your hair are found in your kitchen. Olive and sesame
@Preciousandpure absolutely natural things can work. We should try natural juices and berries on hair and see what happens (hey, Madam C.J. Walker did and Eddie Murphy did too on Coming to America LMBO)
THE PROBLEM WITH ALL THESE PROBLEMS IS ACOHOL the best thing that a black girl can do to her hair is make her own products. go to gnc buy 100%pure oil like peppermint oil mix it in mayo and honey 4 a deep condiction,or add a few drops to your fave leave in condictioner. but the best thing you can do is not SHAMPOOING YOUR HAIR DONT DO IT instead rinse your hair with 1tablespoon lemon juice to every cup of water you can add honey to the mix to if you like, but dont shampoo ur locks unless u must
There are things in your video that I couldn't stand also, as well as things in your video that I actually like and still use. You're right...it all depends on how the products and your hair get along.
It doesn't matter what hair type you have, there is no reason anyone needs that many products. I mean damn. That's probably why it didn't work cause you put too much crap in your hair.
I finally use the Silk Expressions line (Olive oil shampoo/conditioner) now my hair is half way down my back..it's great. I always wrap my hair up at night, pull it up over my head and wrap it in a silk scarf/sleep on a silk pillowcase. Makes all the difference. Ur video is great:)
@DoUWanna007 agreed. I really think wrapping it or tying it up..or just putting a silk/satin bonnet on at night help prevent drying and split ends so you don't have to cut as much of your hair off when you trim. Thanks! =))
Protectiv Megagrowth lotion was pretty great for my natural hair. It closes the cuticles, makes my ends curly and moisturizes great. It also works wonders before blow drying. I have 4b, fine textured hair.
Re: Fantasia IC Olive Moisturizing Shine Serum, I do not agree . It does do more than the the other serums. If you turn the bottle around you will clearly see that it states that it protects hair from damage cause by heat appliances. I like it better than their other serums because it does not weigh down my hair and it moisturizes without making my hair wet.
@mpack86 seriously.. did you read the other comments? I understand if you didn't. There's about of them and it's pretty much repetition just like this one... but this is products I have accumulated over about 6 years. I use a shampoo, conditioner, leave in, moisturizer, and some type of protection and whatever styling product I need to complete my look. that's it.. but thanks for watch my video.
@babygalsix I don't believe I said that.. I was just talking about the texture of my hair. I do know that relaxed hair can be just as difficult to manage as natural hair. My mom is natural and I am relaxed and she spends less time on her hair than I do.. but thanks for watching my video.
@ShortieByNature0711 Girl Excuse My Grammer Lol But Fuck What Everybody Gotta Say If You Wanna Do Another Video Then Go Ahead . Because 9 Times Out Of 10 We Gon Watch It Anyway ! And Give Our Feedback But I'd Really Like To Know What Products You Are Using Now Too. So Make The Video . At Least One Person Gon Have Something Bad To Say Regardless If Everybody Else Agree Or Not Thats Just Life
ok folks.. I've replied to many comments but it's becoming repetitive. I was cleaning out the area under my sink. I decided to show people what I would never buy again. I do not experiment that much. seriously. I try a new product about 2ce a year. I've been using things I love for well over a year and a half now. This is an accumulation of things over 5 or 6 years. And once again, this did not work for my hair because of the reasons stated in the video. No one's hair is exactly the same.
Hey girl, read the labels before you buy. For example, most hair pomades have mineral oil, petroleum jelly as the first ingredient, then is like using Vaseline. Any live in conditioner that is not heavy or moisturizing enough for you, you can add 1 or 2 teaspoons of olive oil, and glycerin and shake it. I always have to fix my leave in conditioners until they work for me. If is to heavy, you can not do anything about it though.
olive oil detangler is great it's the best. You shouldn't do negative comments because what works for you may NOT work for other people. You are also destorying people business. I used Olive Oil detangler and it's great it doesn't dry out the your hair. I love olive oil products, my hair is on my back and this is down to this product.
@MsHappyface111 I've said the same thing you said several times already. And I'm not going to lie and say it works for me when it doesn't. I don't think I'm hurting their sales too much. =)
I have to say that everyone's hair is different...but i know Mizani ROCKS! And Kera Care ROCKS! But, the other stuff...I just don't know...I used to experiment like you but not like all that...but...hopefully you will find what you are looking for...I felt like I was listening to the story of the 3 bears...nothing was right! LOL! Good luck! :)
@pinkladykitty I LOVE Mizani's oil sheen! OMG! I would buy it over and over again if I could find it! and their zinc shampoo. Love it too. and Kera Care is great. I didn't say it didn't rock. I just found something that's a lot cheaper and seriously works the same for me. Now why would I keep buying Kera Care if I didn't have too??! lol Thanks. I've found my products!
@rosepretty1997 lol I don't know if you're serious or not but I'm pretty sure it's not racist to say a product would be better suited for non ethnic hair. But I get I was stereotyping! oops!! =)
Everyone tuting on hair and hair products always shows the stuff that they use but never say "this might not work for you". Thanks for your video and for keeping it real by showing what has not worked for YOU! I hope you have found something that works its trial and error for us all.
@inari0 Thanks so much! I've been noticing the same thing! And I'm not saying don't try them. I say exactly why they didn't work for me in the video. EX: I have fine hair so it weighed my hair down.. If you don't have fine hair, you might like it.. People aren't hearing that for some reason though. Thanks again! and I have found products I love. Don't want to post a video about it bc these comments from this one is too much! lol
I understand what you mean about products. I've had relaxed hair and no amount of produts will allow my hair to be better. I've gone natural now because relaxed hair is just a waste of my time and money. Allow all the products, I'll just stick to the natural products for my hair i.e oils. Plus I have that think, coarse hair that breaks combs and I use Tresemme to wash my hair not all that other crap that does nothing.
@bichickldn Baby shampoo works well too. Shampoo is shampoo. I think companies are putting way too much stuff in their products. I just need it to clean my hair and not dry it out at the same time. lol But I have products I use now that are working for me. I've been using them for over a year and a half. want to post a video about it but these other comments have me thinking twice...lol
ive used the profective mega growth and i find that it does actually grow your hair !

I like profectiv mega growth because it saved my hair when I had moisture overload because it's a protein moisturizer; it isn't water based, though.

On another note, I am glad that there are very few products my hair hates. Actually, the only thing my hair hates is cantu shea butter leave-in.

Oh and the products you say are too heavy, you should try using them sparingly. I only suggest that cause as a fellow PJ I hate wasting money.
thelostgirl007 2 months ago
I will say that i am a product junkie as well and sometimes we are so amped to try everything that we don't use the products right. I will also say that some of these products aren't good for hair in general. It's a good video for documenting your journey. Years down the line you can refer back. Now I do think you are using water based moisturizers wrong (based on your comment). You should try to use one on wet hair only. I think it will work out better.

I love the Profectiv products!!! :)

JanayM 2 months ago
wow that's a lot of products, so what products do you use now that work well for you?
1990banks 2 months ago
I have straight NAPPY hair. lol i cannot stretch no more than a month. I HAVE to have a relaxer. but i have spent alot of money on products and it did nothing for my hair. so i just don't do anything to my hair until it's time to go to the beauty salon. plus, i use good ole fashion hair grease and my hair still has movement b/c i don't glop it on. my hair use to be like SUPER short but after i quit puttin a million AND one things in it, it started growing on its own. oh well lol
Lust4Me10 2 months ago
When did you get a chance to use any of these products?...LOL...Ughhhh What are you using right now? Why don't you try to stick to 3 products sweetie. I think you use these products once and now you're saying you don't like any of them, what type of hair do you have? You are cracking me up.LMAO

Girl you can go ahead and send me that proclaim gloss and profectiv lotion. That's my ish lol. Why did you buy the whole aisle of products? You should probably use natural products if you are having such a hard time looking for what you want.

Ok dear, no upset feelings here ok, but all im saying some of those are so really good products, yea i had an interest that's why i watch it, because i want to see the products and know why or to see if you use any i use before that i decide not to buy myself, i will know im not the only one who had the same problem. But its ok everyone hair is different.
kimopple 3 months ago 11
@kimopple everything you said contradicts everything you said in your earlier post. I think you were looking for a video with all positive opinions about the products. No hurt feelings on this end either. I don't understand why it affected you so much that you said I have issues. Maybe I misread your tone. But when you start with a statement like that, I assume it's meant to be mean. And I don't understand why people would want to be mean over a hair product video. It's really not that serious.

@kimopple right i used the profectiv one and nothings wrong with that soo....

@kimopple Maybe add some extra coconut oils to the products that you can add additional oils to. especially products that is not heavy enough for your hair.
WavesAndCoils 2 months ago
@kimopple the products are not the problem but more of each person's hair. for example i hate the feeling of the Motion's hairdress at 6:34 mins on my hair while my sis seems to love it.

ShortieByNature0711 3 months ago 24
@kimopple Just because these products are good to you, doesn't mean they are good for someone else. You don't know how another person's head of hair will react to these products. I'm sure there are products that you don't like that someone else may say are terrible.

I used to buy the hair mayonaise it actually did stop the breakage in my hair and i LOVED how it made my hair feel but I didn't really care for the smell thats why i stoped using it, but it was one of the better products for my hair particularly but my hair is thick and curly so It probably depends on ur texture
Dezzina19 3 months ago
My sis my niece an i all use the profective line and it works for us. the ic carrot infused hair polish works wonders on dry hair without weighing it down and it smells great. i have used the ic leave in moisturizer in my braids and sew in weaves for years and it has kept my hair moisturized. it all depends on your hair type, your regimen as well as your environment. but i cant knock all black hair products. you just have to try them and see what works best for you.
MsIslandsweet 3 months ago
Those products look full. How can you use something for a day or two and expect to see dramatic results??? You have to use them for a longer period of time and everything seems to be too damn heavy for your hair!! What's not heavy is too light for your hair... Shave it off then!
ConceitedDiamond9999 4 months ago
@ConceitedDiamond9999 I give everything a good try. I'd say most of them were used for a least a month. Some were used for years because I wanted so badly for them to work. Heck..I wanted to get my money's worth. And I don't know what u want from me.. If I had used them heavily, way more would be missing from those bottles. Sorry that my video affected u so profoundly. Or maybe it didn't. That's just the tone I'm getting from all of those exclamation marks.. lol
ShortieByNature0711 3 months ago 6
These videos are all confusing me. Some people use products and say it works and in someone else's video it says not to :( Leaves me confused and I end up with a bunch of different products in my bathroom. But like others said I guess it just depends on your hair and it's trial and error. Right now I'm using a product that many people say NO! to but I'll use it for a month or so and see.

THE PROBLEM WITH ALL THESE PROBLEMS IS ACOHOL the best thing that a black girl can do to her hair is make her own products. go to gnc buy 100%pure oil like peppermint oil mix it in mayo and honey 4 a deep condiction,or add a few drops to your fave leave in condictioner. but the best thing you can do is not SHAMPOOING YOUR HAIR DONT DO IT instead rinse your hair with 1tablespoon lemon juice to every cup of water you can add honey to the mix to if you like, but dont shampoo ur locks unless u must

ShortieByNature0711 6 months ago
Hey girl, read the labels before you buy. For example, most hair pomades have mineral oil, petroleum jelly as the first ingredient, then is like using Vaseline. Any live in conditioner that is not heavy or moisturizing enough for you, you can add 1 or 2 teaspoons of olive oil, and glycerin and shake it. I always have to fix my leave in conditioners until they work for me. If is to heavy, you can not do anything about it though.

@inari0 Thanks so much! I've been noticing the same thing! And I'm not saying don't try them. I say exactly why they didn't work for me in the video. EX: I have fine hair so it weighed my hair down.. Don't want to post a video about it bc these comments from this one is too much! lol
ShortieByNature0711 6 months ago
I understand what you mean about products. I've had relaxed hair and no amount of produts will allow my hair to be better. I've gone natural now because relaxed hair is just a waste of my time and money. Allow all the products, I'll just stick to the natural products for my hair i.e oils. Plus I have that think, coarse hair that breaks combs and I use Tresemme to wash my hair not all that other crap that does nothing.
