I don't know how to play this on the organ but I play it on the piano (in my own curious adapted version) and if anyone has seen the original russian Solaris movie - well it's the main soundtrack in that and it is played far more slowly and it is unbelievable what despair and strength lies in it compared to this one - in fact I usually find it one of the most touching pieces of music i know
Very beautiful-sounding organ, but I agree with the "way too fast" comment. This chorale cries out for soulful tenderness and great emotion; as played here it sounds like a merry-go-round organ at the circus.
such a banal comments! "Why too fast or slow" Do you have the trouth in your pocket?
Congregation sings it faster, but organ solo can choise its own tempo according to the harmonc rythm or "fioriture" use or the acustic environment etc. Do y and your teacher know what I mean?
What about your listening: couldn't y hear anthing more then the spead? Articolation of sound, registration, phrase, is it nothing for y?
What about your playing? Play and post it.We'll admire your "organ lesson"
Schneller, schneller! Das ist zu langsam!!!

Lovely organ, but yes, too fast, the piece loses some of its soulfulness when the tempo is too quick.

"I call to thee, Lord Jesus Christ,
I have no other help but thee.
My heart is never set at rest
till thy sweet words have comforted me.
And steadfast faith grant me therefore,
to hold by thy word evermore,
above all things, never resisting,
but to increase in faith more and more."

fraai geregistreerd op dit orgel; had voor mij een fractie langzamer gemogen, maar niettemin uitstekend gedaan.
