In the Quran it says "There is no compulsion in religion", therefor, one CANNOT be killed for simply leaving Islam, that judgement is for people who leave Islam and physically attack the Muslim state, because during the time time that hadith was narrated, religious affilation was not the way we think of it now, and thus the defintion of apostasy isn't the way people speak of it nowadays, I will gladly engage in debate with whomever says otherwise
