This is around the time I started watching f1 faithfully. The moment I saw montoya in 03 I fell in love. Not the gay way. But I liked his style and flare. I thought he should have won 03 he was the fastest, the best driver of 03. and I will always respect him for what he did to michael shumacher challenging him lots of times. I didn't like ferrari dominating f1. Way to go juan. We miss you in f1.

In my opinion, Raikkonen did far better than Montoya in 2003, the Mclaren was no match for williams or ferrari just look at Coulthard! But Raikkonen ended up 2nd only 2 points behind the champion anyway.

Well, in 2003 Montoya was ready for title, shame that BMW engine blow up two times (Austria and Japan) and that Williams solved aero only in the middle of season. Montoya losted by driver mistake only 2 points in Australia. So it is bull*hit that he was not consistent. Best driver of 2003 and if other parts of team were like him than BMW would be multiple champions with Williams.

Yeah, look at Monza 2003. Montoya had the better car (or to make you feel better, an equal car). Schumi banged in a qualifying lap so special he pumps his fists as he crosses the line. He knew it was spot on and delivered under some serious pressure given the championship points table.

Montoya, up next, for his lap, screws up a sure pole position.

The FIA handed Schumacher that championship, but Schumi was still better than the others, especially Montoya.

If Schumi was in this/last year's ferrari, everyone would be harping on about it being the best car ever. I didn't believe it myself, but Looking at how mighty Kimi is doing against Massa, it's crystal clear Schumi was indeed a cut above the rest. None of the current crop would have achieved what he did even with the "preferential treatment."

I can't believe I'm defending Schumacher, but my goodness! I believe Schumacher had more championships than Montoya had race wins. LOL! Montoya was the one with the complex, he's the one who saw red (literally) whenever schumi was near. Montoya's now in NASCAR struggling to make the top 15. People like you make it hard for knowlegable folk to like Montoya. Monty was my favorite driver, but seeing him struggle against Kimi showed that he's merely good. Certainly not a legend.

Montoya was a breath of fresh air for Formula one. His speed, agility and sheer bravery around the track made him one of the only serious competitors to Schumacher in recent years.

Put Schumi in this year's ferrari. Looking at how Massa's going, is it unreasonable to say that Schumi would be leading the championship by a good margin, with 4 or 5 wins under his belt?

Is it not clear that the only reason Montoya was able to challenge Schumacher was because the BMW was the better car? He didn't exactly dominate Ralf Schumacher and it's annoying to see people continually hail him as one of the best of all time.
