Most states here in the U.S. requires a license for anything over 50cc or better, don't think theres a speed limit, then how fast can you go on 50cc. Anyway this still falls in the same level as a bicycle or under 50cc.
law enforcer will tolerate all these various techno at one condition,on average user go about 6 mile per hour so if user stay around that i dont think law enforcement will get involved .its like scooter if you go at 50 km /hour no problem but most scooter get modded to go 110 km/hour.same thing with bike go slow and you wont have porblem .its not like you cant slow it down lol.
Here in Italy, this is illegal: it is likened to a car! All because people have to buy gasoline, pay property tax, pay insurance, put the helmet, pay the test ... we can only have 250watt PAS system (without hand throttle and pedal assistance), no one wants and goodbye ecology!
Now it has 48V 500W rear hub motor, battery 48V 16Ah and regular controller.
I will rebuild my controller with recuperation system like this one in this video Electric Bicycle with updated speed controller SMD 1 - take a look at YouTube. Any advices will be appreciated.
that defeats the purpose of the bike haha pointless, just buy honda monkey bike!
