  • Don't give this to a kid ;-)

  • magnificent sound!

  • Snap, Crackle, & Pop! Nice Sound Effects! But my ARP Axxe is more musical and my ARP Odyssey, Pro-Soloist, Pro-DGX and Quadra simply blow it away! Of course, it isn't fair to judge a synth on 1 video.

  • u have absolutely no talent whatsoever pisspoor attempt

  • Can't they all just be made of awesome and excel at a given task? FFS...

  • Every video I see the music easel in they all sound alike.....wow, can it make any different sounds

  • uh huh.....can it produce anything musically useful?

  • Much respect to Don, but my Waldorf Q can out-weird that by a factor of cupcake...and a Q can be had for around a grand.

    That being said...WANT.

  • yeah but the waldorf can't do crazy tribal drum sounds / clicks

    so there

  • Wanna bet? ;->

  • the Buchla would kick your Waldorfs arse in any aspect on sound quality.

    so there.

  • I have a challenge for you. PURCHASE one, and we'll run a test.

  • I own both, including other synths, and theres not a doubt in my mind, or any others that have tried them. The Waldorf is capable, no doubt, but the Buchla is top of the line.

  • You own a Bentley AND a Jaguar. I own a Jaguar only. I tinker with the big cat's engine extensively. :-)

  • my minimoog voyager would kick both. but i don't want to start anything there both awsome synths. does the buchla use the same patch routing as my minimoog or is it as i've heard a little different but awsome? :)

  • It looks like some bizarro 4th-of-july birthday cake.

  • nice, what planet was it made on?

  • do you have this synth.

i would love to get some samples.

  • Thats the weirdest looking synth ever :D

  • Uh... what's the price of this little machine? $2500/3000? Tell me, B.

  • 2500/3000 ... thats a good one ... try multiplying that by ten and start there. then see if you can actually find one... then see if the person that owns it wants to sell it.... probably between 20 and 40 of these exist in the world ... beautiful sounding machine ... god bless don buchla

  • man i wish more people would make such long clips....15 seconds, really thanks for the effort...next time i'm hoping it will be 16 seconds...that would be awesome!

  • @defcreator Actually, I thought it was a bit on the long side. I think what needed to be said could have been accomplished in about 8 seconds.

  • what the..

  • wow!!!! that's a beautiful sounding macine!!!!

  • how did you make that sound? Not many analog synths can do wooden sounds

  • I love the Look and Sound of this great Instrument. And i love that it uses this "Banana Jack" Cables :)

  • if you're not familiar, you should check out the work of Charles Cohen - I've performed with him, and never heard anyone do things like he does on his Easel - he's the master (IMO). Just look up: "whats charles up to?" to find his page. neat vid though... :)

  • his performance with sporangia is one of my all time favorites. why arent these things released as albums? and why the hell cant i find any albums by sporangia either?

  • those are both excellent questions... and I know them both (as friends). Saw them perform at MonkeyTown two months ago. I have super-archive of their works, and much of Charles' solo things as well. I'll write you.

  • I used to work (at a job) with "Sporangia". We had a lot of fun jamming a couple times. Charles Cohen is also a super nice guy and I had a lot of fun playing with him at my friends house. Very good music.

  • I would love to see more Easel vids, Luther.

  • I want one, but I would be embarrassed to admit I paid for one. My family would think I have a mental illness.

  • awesome

  • negatory. this one's (almost) paid for.

  • Comment removed

  • amazing!!! is it the one stolen from Evergreen?

  • Evergreen in Oly? They had a Buchla theft?

Morton Subotnick get's those awesome wooden purcusion grooves as heard on the early album "Touch" from Buchla synths. cool shit!

  • I WANT ONE OF THOSE LIKE NOW 'N STUFF.
