Nationalism is such in-group nonsense. Feel good about being a part of larger community with a rich history, but don't think that makes you fundamentally different from any other person.
There is only one race. The human race. We have common problems in a shrinking world, which will certainly require more and more global governance in the coming centuries. Don't let pseudo-historical mumbo jumbo hamstring you.
@TacticusPrime Given that Scotland is the very nation which produced the expression "We're a' Jock Tamson's bairns", I think that you may be preaching, ever so slightly, to the choir.
I've nothing against any race or any people but this country and its people are in real danger of being outbred. (Especially from the indians).makes me wonder what this country will be like in a hundred years and how our heritage will be looked upon
what a brillant song i love this version of the flower o scottland and for you people out there there is another version but its a bit mellower but really moving feet tapin music
Why does BBC Scotland never show Scottish International football games, young people can't go into pubs to watch the games on SKY
Deprived of their culture, deprived of seeing the national team playing their countries national sport, what use is the BBC to the youth of Scotland. Apart from feeding them Unionist Propaganda.
True true. Culture gives people a sense of belonging, and any other sense of belonging that conflicts with the status quo must be abolished, it's written in the course of English history: the servile must be subduded and comply with being "British", whatever that dark and cloudy word means. "Britishness" overrules "Scottishness" because the Scots are a owned and subduded people, a people that must rise again!
The only reason I know of the Corries is i'm old enough to have seen them. Why does BBC Scotland never play them on any of their Celtic Music radio shows. Young Scots are not getting the chance to hear their music.
It's because the BBC is the foundation of English establishment in Scotland, they don't want the natives to get restless and start wanting a republic and democracy instead of a bastardized form of monarchy.
Even Scotsmen and women across the pond support Scottish independence and the right of Scotland to rule herself independent of foreign intervention. My family name is Knox of Clan MacFarlane and I although I am a Scottish American, I look forward to the day when I can go to Scotland and show my children their heritage and the history behind it. Now is the time for all Scots to find their nationalistic spirit and come together as one!
I was born in England raised in Scotland from age 3 and feel Scottish. There's something there that just bonds with my soul. I feel depressed if I don't get there for a decent long holiday...from England. Up the Scots....yeah
Couldn't agree with you more, pal. "We'll rise again to win our claim for Scottish destiny" as the Corries so perfectly put it. Glad to know there's still plenty true Scots out there who are clued in to what's what ;)

The Corries singing Burns what a potent mix.

An old song.
However one which states clearly the thoughts of every true Scot.
We are a Nation . Conquered by by no-one .
We will be a Nation and in charge of our own desiny once again .
The Times they are changing.
Aye ,and for the better.
