I love all of your makeup themes, and the fact that you associate each style with a piece of art, no matter what the type it is still an art and you are great
omg, shut up, shes talking about makeup!! she got her inspirationg from the colors and bulls are deadly animals, its not like shes promoting bull fighting,, gosh everyone just wants to stur some shit up sometimes! =) dont over exagerate guys
we all have our own views on different cultural practices. Some matador would call it "the dance with death".Because even the smallest mistake from the matador would translate in agonizing death. I'm not in favor of animal cruelty at all. But I just want to raise questions. Would killing a mosquito be considered cruel? would killing an ant at your dinner table be cruel? aren't they all living creatures? So when is it cruel and when is it not? again we draw conclusion based on our biased
cultural values. So who are we to tell others what's ok or what's not ok? When we point our finger at someone, many more fingers could be pointed back at us. My philosophy is live and let live. But again I think that discussion and exchange of ideas are paramount for cultural growth. The most interesting art for me is often controversial and it opens a forum for conversation
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. My opinion is that nobody should dictate where she gets her inspirations from. She created a beautiful look out of a inhumane sport. See the positive in things!
i really wouldnt give a crap about what these ppl say.. inspiration from the colors is totally ok...these ppl just wait for anyone to make a gap for them to talk..i think who ever thinks u shouldnt do that tell them simply dont freaking watch or if they wanna watch then they should shut the f*ck up seriously..
people can have whatever opinions they want..if you don't like other people's opinions, then maybe you're the one that shouldn't watch..or read what other people say for that matter!
yes, that is just my opinion...i find any sport in any part of the world that wounds and kills animals for fun degrading and demoralizing (that includes "cowboys" riding and torturing bulls and calfs in the states, for example)
maybe you might not agree with me...and maybe u can even somehow come up with a makeup theme that showcases dogfighting or cockfighting for your next tut, i dont know
you are certainly entitled to..as i am with an opinion
i love the look just find that the name for the theme is sad. Bullfighting should not be an inspiration its actually sad. Dont get me wrong you are good and i love the look!
I see what you saying but I beg to differ. Different cultures have different values, folklore, rituals that to "foreigners" at times might seem cruel. But who are we to judge what's ok and what's not? what's cruel and what's not. For example vegetarians would find us cruel because we eat meat. So who is right? I believe that values are subjective. Therefore, judgment extrapolated from such values are subjective.
All i am saying is that in my opinion this is inhumane. treating an animal like that is not right. this does not take away from the quality of your work, you are still very good.
I totally share your values Anny1983. I wouldn't want to kill a bull either. I understand what you are saying, I feel the same way. But my point was that maybe we should see things objectively instead of reinforcing our cultural values into others. All I want to say is that we might consume rituals here in US that might seem cruel to others from other cultures. For example someone could argue that thanksgiving is a cruel holiday because of the slaughter of so many turkeys. You know what I mean?
All I'm trying to say here is that maybe sometimes we should look deeper into rituals like such and try to understand that other's traditions might seem savage to us like our traditions might seem savage to them. Like leather jackets, wallets, bags they all are commodified goods that we accept as un cruel. Someone from a different culture might find that cruel towards the animals.
but anyways... sharing ideas always lead to progress! lol
makeupartistamateur my mother is from Spain and father from Italy. My mother considers bullfighting a cruel sport, and to be honest (no offense please) I don't like the fact that a video that has this wonderful style of make up that you do, is honouring such cruel sport. You probably did not think about this when you made it, which is what made me understand.
SandraLondon63,I personally wouldn't like to kill a bull or any other animal. What I'm trying to say is that what might be cruel to you might be not cruel to others! I feel like we should respect others traditions and cultures even if they seem cruel to us. For example, are you and your family vegeterian or vegan? If you eat meat, like the majority of us, you are contributing to the butchering of these animals. We, humans can live on a veggie diet but we decide to eat meat for pleasure. cruel?
I feel that some of the western philosophy on ethics is profoundly subjective and egocentric. Traditions and values that are different are often criticized as barbaric. All I'm saying is how can we point the finger when we are ourselves involved in some arguable practices. The mass production and mass consumption of cow, chicken , fish, pork is as cruel as a ritualistic practice that sacrifice a bull. I usually don't criticize, because I would feel like a hypocrite. But I understand your point!
Actually, I am a vegetarian and so is my sister, however, we are not perfect as we still drink milk. You are right about what you mentioned regarding being a hypocrite. Animal farming is by far the most cruel way to treat animals. However, don't be mistaken, bullfighting is no longer a "tradition" among Spaniards, especially young ones who strongly oppose this cruel sport.
I know the difference, I am 45 years old and have been a vegetarian for the last 30 years. If you read my message properly you would have noticed that I said I wasn't perfect either.
hillarryyy. And yes, you are partly right, there is a big difference, however, it is still better to be a vegetarian than to eat meat. (I am assuming this is what you do?)

I completely agree. The tradition is completely inhumane. Nice eye make up look though.

SandraLondon63:
No, actually I dont eat meat, Im also a vegetarian. dont assume things.
and
I dont think i read it wrong....
I read "we are not perfect AS WE STILL drink milk" being that you think you are an imperfect veggie, because you drink milk.
the only way to be an imperfect vegetarian is to eat meat.
eitherway, I was simply stating that its not imperfect for a vegetarian to drink dairy, so others wont confuse vegans and vegetarians.
It wasnt meant to cause drama, only to inform people.
