I don't think Lamey is a very good announcer. He retracts a lot of his calls because he's always jumping the gun. He said Aaron Bailey caught the hail marry against Pittsburgh in 95 twice before he finally said, "no they say incomplete." That's just an example but he does that all the time.

Every radio announcer who is employed by a team will get pissed off when something like this happens and the other team scores. It doesn't matter which teams are involved. Lamey is probably one of the better ones out there when it comes to saying who is lined up where, who is in motion etc. He gave the Saints credit at the end of the game for being the better team. So he's supposed to be completely neutral? Impossible.

I think it's cool to have announcers on the radio who are biased toward their team. It's a different setup than television because it's localized, so it makes sense that they should be a bit biased when most of their listeners are fans. It's not his job to make the opponent's plays sound exciting, but just to say what happens and he did that. If you don't like him, then you're not a colts fan and there's no reason to listen to him.

Lamey is the local Colts announcer, calling games for the benefit of Colts fans, so its perfectly ok for him to sound melancholy on this pick that ends Indy's chances. Just about any local radio guy in the NFL would do the same for his team in that situation.

I like Lamey a lot, I think his accent fits the Indy area and when the Colts are winning his soundbytes are a lot of fun to hear. I'm a Giants fan by the way.
