hey. Mr.Biblethumpin' boy...are you retarded? It is not your place to judge where John Lennon's soul has gone. How could you think that smug, religeous, insensitive, pretensious, holier than thou crap you felt compelled to share, would be for any good purpose, or pure motive? Grow the fuck up!
Leave Yoko be. God! look at Sean;she must have done something right. He's a fine young man and musician. Yoko IS a business woman. should she lose or squander the money? leave her ef'- fin' be!
Imagine John singing gospel its easy if you try, now he wishes had he had before he died. Had he known Jesus though his body was dead his spirit would have flown away to Jesus and there would have lived. For Jesus is the way the truth and the life and all who believe in Him will never die. I will tell you this and it is true John wishes he had another chance to live for Jesus. But it was for fame and fortune and it was fun for a season but now he is gone and he's wishen he'd bean believin.
What haunts and disturbs me about these tapes and some of the last interviews done by John is that he sounded like someone who knew he was'nt going to live long. It was almost like he was leaving some sort of goodbye letter. I know he suffered from a tragic depression for most of his life but it makes me wonder. Did he have suicidal thoughts before his murder? Were some of his words prophetic? Coincidence? Or did he know something before anyone else did?
I would say so - he left clues everywhere in his work. e.g. listen to "You saved my soul" where he sings "only you truly saved me from that suicide" and "When I went to jump out of that apartment window"..also think about the self-destructive behaviour with alcohol and dope combined with a strong depression he showed over the years. Yep I'd say he definitely had suicidal tendecies.
Anyone who like to dig deeper, read Fred Seaman's book about Johns last 2 years, it's very enlightening!
He got scary thin, the 2 years before he died. I wonder why people never seem to notice that but you never hear anything in the press or Beatles history.
On the contrary, Lennon's last interviews are defined by future plans: thoughts for his next album, his hopes for the 80's, even talk of a world tour. His comeback single was called 'Starting Over'. He described Double Fantasy as "a new beginning". Like many creatives he was prone to depression & he recorded one such moment here. Claiming this was some portent of his impending death is really just a way to lend greater significance to a shocking, random act.
Oh my god.. It's just... Heartbreaking to hear how restless he sounded then... And planning a trip that he was unable to make because of one crazed lunatic who was allowed to own firearms and be let out in the world. Corr, that is just... Bloody sad... Q__Q Love you, John. Miss you tons! D; 'R.I.P'
John was seething with jealousy over Dylan and McCartney while he was at home making demos. This is great stuff with John all alone with no other "influennces" to filter his thoughts.
if that isn't proof I don't know what is. you have truly moved the human race ahead by telling people that god will kill them if they don't worship him constantly.

And she was a suicidal, and in a mental hospital prior to meeting lennon. She threatened lennon that she was going to kill herself if he didnt support her art in their initial "courtship" in 1966 (which was her stalking him). Lennon, being a man of incredible whims, was very strung out on acid during this period (he was up three days straight, while tripping the whole time), So add his impressionable character, to his acid soaked mind, and he didnt stand a chance against clever yoko.
The image they projected through the media of a fairy tale couple, is no more than a publicity stunt. And you can still see yoko today, continuing to merchandise and exploit the John And Yoko myth for her own ends. She claims to be preserving the legacy, and all she is doing is preserving the myth of their relationship, to continue living comfortably, and to continue to seem like a public benefactor. She is above all else, a SHREWD, business woman. She was a heroin addict as well, most of the70s
@Uradyke69 Totally agree; always wondered how she could keep their place in N.Y. where her "soulmate" was gunned down in front of her eyes. I know I couldn't.
And Im not bashing John,he is my favorite songwriter of all time. But the thing is, he had no mind for business. His mind didnt work that way. Yoko's, however, did. And if you research her history with men, she finds, uses, and discards Men (and woman) when theyre no longer benefiting her image, or her finances. She wanted to divorce lennon many times. And she cheated on him many times, as she did with her two previous husbands, Tony Cox and some Japanese guy.
What he was refering to, when he mentioned that 1981 was a good year, is the fact that Yoko would TELL John when he could and couldnt do things all according to a "tarot" reader she had been consulting for years. Gullible as always, and depressed (and high all the time) he never questioned the authenticity of the demands yoko made of him. Yoko is/was an extremely shrew, and single minded woman, who capitalized on the Lennon fortune, and to this day, still exploits it for her own luxury.
see how yoko messed up his mind, he loved Bobby Dykins, and he also loved his mother and knew she wanted him, his mom fought very hard trying to get John back in her house, but after he was with yoko he said all this stuff about his mother. thanks for posting !
Shhhhh ? Like IM really gonna listen to you. Im aware that she was killed. I dont understand your point and you make no sense, so why dont you shhhhhhh.
I think he actually consciously decided at some point to simply document his life because of that. Maybe others could learn and grow from it. R.I.P. Johnny boy.
The guy laid himself bare warts and all over the years, both good and bad, and all about simply learning to be a decent human being and growing as a person. But in his case he had to do it all before a camera and watching eyes. That's a tough one. I respect John more now than I did before because as I say, he had to grow up and go through his own psychic drama before watching eyes of the public and that I have to believe can be pretty harrying.
I went through a period long ago where I couldn't stand John. Don't know why exactly, but post Beatles early on he was nerve wracking to me. Funny thing happened along the way, as I matured myself I started to see the humanity of the guy. He was a little boy who was hurt quite deeply by his mother's death, became famous, went a bit mad, and then finally struck out on his own as a man with Yoko.
I think Scotland represented a brief moment of childhood happiness for him. Then as he loosens up he begins to talk about some more interesting childhood memories, tellingly involving his mother. These memories really demonstrate the complex and slightly weird relationship John had with his mother.
This is a facinating Lennon document. It starts of quite boring and John stops himself, acutely aware that he isnt saying much. Then he goes into a bizarre paranoid rant about his 60's contemporarys- macca and dylan etc. John sounds slightly bitter and twisted at the whole recording world, watching it from a distance. Don't forget this was during his break from the public eye. The stuff about scotlan is revealing. John had a great affection for the place, often mimiking the accent.......
