  • i still get goosebumps now as i did in 71 hearin these cats.saw them in nola new years eve w duane and barry man was i ever blessed. they played at the warehouse and played all nite.there jams are legendary.and as with any good band u have to get all the records and listen to the music that would never hit the air. think of what they created and the age they did it. first time i saw them jackson ms they drove old whipped van set there own stage tuned and played as u watched.

  • No room in the collective popular consciousness for this kind of music. Rock? I guess. Out of bounds? Certainly. Too tasteful, too adroit, too much musicianship, here. Hmm. I'd say the same about "Yes." There's a comparison!

  • @Popebill, my sentiments EXACTLY. A true masterpiece!

  • If this does not make you cry you have no heart, these are southern boys in their 20's who channeled this song from beyond.

  • @popebill right fuckin on pbill beautifuly said, truly beyond and u knew it when u heard it. and crazy ass so bros those were wild ass times .like the story how duane kept gregg from getting drafted, 714s jack daniels a target painted on greggs right foot and bam duane shot him thru

  • Thanks so much for that! Looks like a lot of people think that a song called "Dreams I've Never Seen" is a Molly Hatchett song, really! I bought this album when it came out, and it was my introduction to the AB, and to Duane Allman's greatness.

  • Duane Allman was in a place while playing this song...man i wish i get there someday

  • Duane Allman-THE GuitarGod-PERIOD !

  • duane = THE greatest guitarist.

  • no words can discribe the humble greatness of the Allmans and this song. Too bad alot of us didnt have the chance to see them in their prime. Remember D Allman

  • I was 12 years old when I first heard this man play,,and sing on his guitar,,I would pray at night ,,please Duane come into my soul and let me play like you,,please dear God ,,let me feel this the way he does,,

     I play guitar,,but i never come close...

  • this song contains my favorite solo ever. Dickey was so overshadowed by Duane. He definitely had a unique sound that doesn't get enough appreciation. Don't know which one I prefer

  • you sir are the reason why countries think we are hard ons, cultural immaturity, shallowness, lack of dimension,hardon,corn-fed jerkoffs, inbred, bible belt, mindlessmcain voting, sorry sacs of shit

  • why would any half wit retard try to talk shit about this untouchable tune

  • Duane Allman is one of my favourite guitar players, too bad the man died.

By the way, Berry Oakley was a GREAT bass player as well, too bad that an ignorant person doesn't know much about him, probably someone capable of creating something like Black Hearted Woman, you (sspssiws) are probably genius, now go to mtv with a bass cos music NEEDS someone like you to be labelled as the best bassist ever, GO ON "d00d", get your credits and save the image that bass players are useless.

  • You are right! Berry Oakley would keep up with Duane and Dickey and drive them to incredible heights. Zero in on the bass next time you listen to those fabulous solos on the Fillmore East album and you'll see. He was one of the best of all time.

  • @Dudisse by the time I was done listening to Live at Filmore I knew I had to look up this bass player.

  • well that "weasel" knows his damn music.

the bass line is in 7/8 along with the drums and that is FUCKING foreign in rock territory.

plus the same chord progression gives Duane room to improvise which i believe to be the

greatest solo EVER, just listen to that feedback when Duane slides the slide across the fretboard for the first time.

    Anway enough rambling.

    "feeds the troll a peanut*

  • do you just go around hating everything trying to pick a fight? You know what? Don't even answer, that's quite enough out of you.

  • The solo from 1:40-4:40 should answer your question. If not, well I guess I have to disrespectively disagree with you. First negative comment I've ever heard about this blues classic in waltz time.

  • The funny thing is. Everything is constantly changing. The magic of this song is that you can get so entranced that you might not realize how much the bass line, the drums, and the rythm guitar is constantly moving around and exploring. Oh well, the troll hasn't been on for a while. Must be practicing.

  • whyd you watch it then
