  • Moroccans for the most part are tolerant today. But during the late 40s and 50s, problems did exist for Jews that should not be ignored. Several massacres did take place. Remember the riots in Oujda and Jerada in 1948? Many innocent Jewish civilians were ruthlessly killed by their neighbors. Obviously, news spread quickly to Jews in other cities about what had happened and fear and anxiety prompted so many Jews to leave for Israel and France in search of more opportunities and safety

  • @auraxorange

     Just to make it clear the events you are describing did happen but not in large scale. You need to differ from what some minority groups did to the official policy of the King that was and is still in favor of the Jewish life in morocco. Don't mis-understand me as to the importance of the alia to Israel. but the last thing I am is in-correct, You can check facts and not rumors or stories;

  • My grandad told me that all the jews in his village left one night apart from an old man who refused to leave. He told me that they were poor like all the rest of the villagers, jews and muslims

  • @gaelicM But they were loving there life ... it's not MOney that matters .. Money comes and goes ( like what do we say in moroccan darija )

  • Just to make it clear, The Jews of Morroco as a whole and as a community were religious/zionist from a Jewish perspective, The movie is obviously designed to portray the life as negative [in morroco] that is not true either, The reason Jews left morroco and Moved back to Israel is their belief in Jewish TORA and the love to Zion, Israel.

  • @dedizuker You are so wrong! The Muslims used to kidnap Jewish girls, rape them so no one will marry them. They also burned down synagogues... there was a lot of tension during the 50's between the Jews and Muslims in morocco.

  • @auraxorange , also as you can see this movie is a propaganda, which has a lot of motives that portray the jews in Morroco as poor Ignorant etc, which is a total lie. As well as providing a perspective as if the arabs treated them so badly. Ghetto's etc.

    Lots of lies; fit to the 50's in Israel and US

  • @auraxorange shame on you for saying that, I am from Morocco, we live by sinagogue and not far from it a mosque, the architect who designed our house is jewish but Moroccan which is what matters. I am persuing my studies in Canada and my dad's friend is jewish but again Moroccan and that is what matters to us this guy treats me like his son and when I need something I ask him before my own father. Auraxorange god will not forgive your lies and BTW i am Muslim

  • @Sepaisful you're just another brainwashed human being! you'll need to join the dots as you sound so immature & vile!!! that is not what jews are known for! funny & ironic that the kids on the video singing a moroccan song and it say "do you really know? and what do you know? do you know this or that?" for your information, i do go to morocco many times a year, and to many other parts of the world, including Israel ;] and that's how it should be for all mankind ;] pls don't be rude! peace/shalom

  • moroccan jews were forced to leave their moroccan homeland by deceitful zionists!!! there never was any problems between jews & muslims in our beloved country, keep in mind our stand in support by the monarchs & moroccan people for the moroccan jews!

  • @MOULAYUCEF

    my grandfather wanted to leave to Israel, even that their was no problems between jews and muslims. most of them did. because 2000 years we waited to get into the promise land, Israel.

  • @swisa1120 Morocco will always open its doors to our jewish community ;)

  • @MOULAYUCEF my grandfather told me that, he likes this Jewish singer and I watched with him a concert of that singer in the king's palace in Morocco! In Hebrew!

  • @swisa1120 much pleasure to know & remind ourselves & the world ;)

  • @MOULAYUCEF The Jews in Israel (I'm part of them) and the Muslims from Israel should learn to live like the Jews and the Muslims were living in Morocco. I'll always remember this.

  • Viive Morocco !
