holy ravioli I never realized how much work goes into making a video. (no I am not a thief) but that is still inane. and to think I was once tempted to steal someone else's work.

Great vid, it is a fantastic catarsis. What a lot of crap of people that use You Tube for their filthy vices, bulling, and this time stealing!! Videos takes a damn of work and YES *creativity* (Those who claims copyrights for music and videos are unfair too::our videos are OURS) and these people comes and steal our hard work. Uf I have quite a lot, one of those thiefs took one of my vids to INSULT!! Other ones just have stolen my ideas, and their copies r more more popular than mines ¡Jesus!!

Touche! Vid stealers are the scum of the YouTube world. I've never had someone directly steal my clips before, but I did have an experience with someone ripping off my vid by using the same characters, same song, same ideas and several of the same clips, and then try to deny it. I pursued my argument until the vidder agreed to attach their vid to mine as a response video. I've just made my first Sony Vegas video and now I can truly appreciate the time and effort that goes into some pplz work.

Ty for posting this. What program are you using? I want it!! Even though, I don't even think I would have the patience to spend 43 mins on manipulating a 2 sec clip, but it would sure be nice to have the right tools in case I ever decided to! Someone stole one of my videos once, a yr ago. I didn't know about the Thief channel then. All my friends just flagged the crap out of it. In fact it was 1 of them who told me about it or I wouldn't have known. Great video!!! :_) Faved!

haha.... I just realised wat it looks like I've said above... I didn't mean that wat u did in this video was simple... I've been practising with masking myself and it's hella hard... What I meant was even though once the manipulation is done it may look simple but it's not it takes ages and even wen ur doing the simple manips like matching the music to the video or transitioning or colouring it all takes time and effort and it may not look like it's hard but it is.....

It is sad that most people do not have any single understanding of the work we put into our videos. I'm glad you showed them one of the most popular effects, and the amount of time it took. the point of the video is that vidders take a long time and alot of effort to make thier videos and then you have people who waltz along and steal the video..

the tool you are referring to is called the "masking tool" in sony vegas.. however if you have Sony Vegas Movie Studio or Sony Vegas platinum, you wont have this tool.

if you want to know how to use the tool, there are lots of tutorials on YT - just type in "sony veggas mask tutorial". Hope that helps:D

oh hun, well there are lots of things you can do with cookie cutter if you have the paitence to do so! do you know, it was only a few months ago that RockabillyQueen11 was using cookie cutter to make her manipulations! and her manips have always been wonderful! all you need is determination and then you can achieve anything!

EXACTLY. I love this video. There is SO much friggin work that goes into making a manip! You have to have every keyframe move accordingly. And if it looks all weird then it looks like shit. Plus the coloring and size and proportion and all the other drama. I don't think non-vegas people understand the work one puts into a vid like that. I use WMM and I totally 100% understand that my videos won't automatically be uber awesome if I switch to Sony Vegas. Sony Vegas is hard to use! People who use Sony Vegas put a lot of time into their videos! It really bugs me too when people say things like that! Anyways, I still use WMM - too impatient for Vegas. Lol!

GREAT VIDEO! I love that your showing people what work you are stealing. I didn't understand how hard it was when I saw the Hermione Cullen video but then I got a different version of sony vegas that had masking. I started a few days ago doing this and it is incredibly HARD! I spent hours trying to have Pauline sit down somewhere in the Gryffindor common room and it STILL looks like sh*t!
