Awww! They are so cute! I have a blue female dobie. For some reason as a puppy she looked way more blue than yours, but she was older when we got her... so maybe that has something to do with it.

Don't be ridiculous, not only is it traditional for the breed, its functional too.  They didn't just decide one day to start chopping off tails and ears. It was for a purpose. Do a little research before you condemn people for doing things differently from you.

They look a lot more like that of a traditional Doberman, they dock the tails and crop the ears for good reasons. I've lived with Dobermans my whole life and it doesn't hurt them one bit if it's done properly. ^ ^

I used to want to get a husky, but, now, I want a Dobie... This is going to sound stupid, but I know there are Red Black & Tan and Blue Dobies, but the lighter ones... are they tanned? They're all so cute.

there are 4 colors the AKC approve is blue which is a dilution of black, and Fawn which is a dilution of red. they don't approve of white but who knows maybe in the future will!!!

The accepted colors are black & rust with blue & rust being a dilute of it, red & rust with Fawn & rust being the dilute of that. Fawn is also referred to as isabella. White is a defect and is not accepted by reputable breeders or the CKC or AKC because the above places do not condone breeding dogs that contribute to destroying this breed. Z factored or white Dobes are walking defects. I hope they NEVER become accepted. This amazing breed is already doomed with health issues.

Yeah, that would definitely be too late. They usually have it done within the first few weeks.

But it doesn't matter...a dobe with an uncut tail is still a

dobe! :) I love my dobe so much...

I know this is LATE, but...Yes, though it isn't a good idea. I have a red one who's tail was cut about then, but that was because she ended up at a dobie rescue, and they had two males that were never adopted because they had undocked tails, isn't that awful? If they had only noticed or realized that we (my twin sis & I) didn't care about the tail, we could've saved her some pain! But I understand WHY they did! We adore her.

They are wonderful with children. I grew up with dobies. They are so intelligent and regal. Also, they are gentle with your family, friends and other pets. The best dogs are dobies in my opinion. Good luck and I hope that you find your perfect new family member!

Thanks for posting this video, they are adorable. My husband and I are going to pick out our dobe tomorrow. The litter is about 3 weeks old, and your video has allowed me to see what healthy dobes this age should look and act like... so I feel a little better prepared.
