I don't know why, but i feel like the english dub actually handled these evolutions better than the original japanese version.

Perhaps it's the fact that the japanese version plays overly cheesy music during this while trying to give it this 'epic' look.

The english version, however, plays this nice, almost calming music, which makes the evolution seem more mystic as both Digimon and tamer become one, which is honestly a more meaningful way to convey the sequence.

The biomerges are my favorite form of digivolving in the entire series but i couldnt watch them with their biomerges when my parents were watching. Yeah they're not totally naked but they literally have no clothes on, my dad walked in on my bro and me watching, took one look at them and said "WTH, are they naked?!". Tried to explain it to him but the awkwardness was already pretty strong lol.

When you think about it Biomerge should be the final step in Digimon evolution, throughout every season they always emphasize the importance of the Digimon and their respective partners working together as one, in Biomerge human and Digimon actually BECOME one...but still season 3 was my fav season in EVERY way.

ya know, i hope series 6 when it airs in english, is good and brings the feeling of the first 3 seasons back, because the 4th sason ruined it(though it was good) but season 5 completely ruined dgimon for me becase it wasnt the same feeling and i liked the goggle headed main character, not a typical troublemaking teenagers who just wants to fight

@digispirit1994 I am not sure in japanese version says matrix... I am almost sure that it is just evolution (In japanese version of digimon DATS just say "Shinka" that means "evolving to..." but I dont know if it is the same in the other seasons).

I think that all of the character's digivolutions tell a lot about their characters. Takato knows that he has to fight and focus on fighting now unlike before where he seemed to take more of a passive role. That is represented in his clenched fist. Yet he knows that he can't focus entirely on fighting, like he did before in his first fight against Beelzemon, which is why he moves the digivice to his heart. (continued)

@dothackersign With Henry, he had more of a problem where he was worried about Terriermon losing control of himself, leading him to not want him to digivolve at the beginning of the series. But now having more confidence in Terriermon, he overcame his 'phobia' about Terriermon digivolving. So, he does that slick move to his head. Rika never had a problem with fighting or digivolving; she had a problem of letting people and even Renamon get too close to her at the beginning of the series. (cont.)

Thusly, Rika moves her digivice to her heart and unlike Takato she moves her other hand to her digivice as well, almost as if it is cradling her newfound light. ^^ I think that all of them are intended to have some kind of symbolism. Yes, possibly to explain how they are becoming unified. But, also as a way to explain of how far they have become as a person because of their digimon. But, of course, I could just be reading too much into it too. xP Sorry for the length.

Yes, Rika and Takato move the D-Power to their hearts. I prefer that to Henry's cool move. It's a symbolic gesture. They fight together as one. They become one, body and heart, even though they remain two separate consciences. In my fanfictions, the tamers always move the D-Power to their hearts when they biomerge. It has an important meaning to it.

@quantin356 Well if you've ever noticed, Henry usually does the coolest thing with his digivice, whereas rika's digimon always does the coolest stuff during its digivolution. So I think Takato gets the short end of the stick lol. Personally, I love the fact that rika puts the digivice to her heart during her biomerge, because it almost represents a form of submissivness to her own destiny and shows a bit of that new found ability to love and express emotion that she developed to me.

Well sure, if you forget the fact that Gatomon was not Rookiee like the rest of the original or Season 2 Digidestined and that she became "Magnadramon" by digivolving instead of "warp digivoolving" when Angemon did (which in itself was odd, since Angemon was Champion, not Rookiee).
