Bittersweet season. It was great for their first 9 games, looking like they'd build on the success of 1998 and atone for 1997's late collapse. But sadly they had one of their own. And worse yet, this one began the dark years with that Minnesota game, which took until the goal line stand at Indiana to finally end. As a result, 1999 was the only year as a Big 10 member we lost our last home game of the year.
@BassAssassin9 I like how PSU recovered in 2005, 2008, and 2009 from close losses to rivals (yes, I consider the Ohio State game semi-close, the score is from special teams, their scoring drives totalled 118 yards while we had 201 yards for the game, granted they had more than 118 yards but not much). Penn State has learned from the past, we followed our last second losses with blowout wins, 63-10 in 2005 and 34-7 in 2008.
Awesome game! I Worked security during this game and watched most of it from the field.

Longtime UofA fan. This was the day Arizona football died. It was horrible. Doesn't sting any less 11 years later.

@MVillani1985 I agree. Expectations were high and we were supposed to contend for a national title, but after the Nystrom FG we just fell apart.
