So was the movie so bad they're not going to do the rest of the books? Was it really worse than the Narnia films? Or is it not politically correct with the religious community?

@aidaartist If the story was supportive of our society's superstitious religious beliefs I have little doubt the films would have been whole heatedly embraced and produced. Believers seek to have their beliefs confirmed if something does that it's good if it questions this it's considered evil, an enemy, and is attacked. If evolution supported their views it would be praised but as it is it's seen as a threat and that's why they resist and attack it.

Yeah, you can totally tell he is a fan of the books! He seems very animated and excited telling about the storyline and explaining the daemon concept.
