2003-2005 really gave "WWE" a good identity because it pushed some new guys into the spotlight. Smackdown was pretty darn enjoyable to watch cuz it had Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Benoit, Guerrero and that show focused on a strong card. I think Paul Heyman did a lot of the writing for that show during the time.

I definitely agree. Ever since Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit died, John Cena developed the Marine gimmick, and WWE went TV-PG, WWE went downhill. You said best. I think the WWE think that because we live in the era of realism that it applies to them and i disagree with that 100%. We all know that most of the things are scripted but the soap opera/entertainment combined with wrestling matches was what made the attitude era HUGE both in rating/merchandise etc etc. I dont want them to develope same wrestlers with the same attitudes like before, but we dont see anything like before and thats why their rating/ppv buys are down, way down.

I remember the days where 9points rating were nothing unreachable, now is imposible to do something like that. I look at the roster now and i see HUGe potential to bring the WWE to their glory days in terms of entertainment/wrestling value but they went the PG route for a long while, even before it was actually announced. Of course it has to do with Linda running for congress, but thats another topic. I dont want to think that Vince lost his edge, but everything points to that. Sad really!

Although I do think the WWE's last "great" year was 2002, I think saying it's sucked since 2002 is a bit of an overstatement. 2003-2005 maybe 06 I felt were still good years when you had Benoit, Eddie, Angle, JBL with the company, who all are no longer their. Now todays product is the worst it has ever been in every category: Gimmicks, talent, entertainment value, realism aspect, wrestlers wrestling ability, ratings you name it, the John Cena Era will go down as one of the worst ever.

As far as JBL is concerned, I know he caused some problems backstage (Frankly though WWE has had people much much worst than him backstage)...I am talking purely from a creative stand point though because JBL was the last heel they really put over in the company and that was nice for a change because for years now the WWE is all about Cena wins, Cena wins, Cena wins, Ce...well you get the picture.
