  • Hit #1 on the UK pop chart for 3 weeks on Oct 18, 1986

  • It's not bad at all but I wish I could've appreciated this when it was hot. Back in 2002 this was a huge hit on my personal chart reaching #1.

  • It'll do for me! Just surprised there are no other uploads for this song!

  • dude, you had me at denim jacket

  • nothing to see here...move on.....nothing like the worst song ever....

Hey........ I don't remember eating that?

  • this song reminds me of my friend, when we were in her bedroom getting ready to go out we were about 14 I LOVE IT

  • This was from a time when Eastenders were squeezing every fucking penny out of the programme they could. Anita Dobson doing "everyone should fall in love" is another one.

Seem to remember Lofty spazzing out for about a week listening to this.

  • a great song, romantic, sweet ant methaforical. Pure poetry.Listen, enjoy and dance with the person you love.

  • my mates a loser and he as never won,so i dont believe nick

  • what is nick berry up to these days?

  • dreadful

  • king of the oxymorons

  • fuck you, i bet half u cant even sing so dont put this song down and grow up u little farts

  • The sad thing is that poeple actually bought it. Just like people buy leoina lewis now.

  • Lol. Very funny, thanks.

  • Excellent

  • every loser wins even if he works for the council on the bloody bins

  • so bad it's funny ;-)

  • I like it

  • Its an ok tune but lyrics are bad - i mean "every loser wins"? wtf?

  • this is the first video that popped up when i typed in "worst song ever"

  • beautiful lyrics.. loved this song then.. and now

  • I'd rather eat a plate of elephant shit than ever hear that again.

  • eastenders will be proud

  • When i was a kid i loved this song LOL

  • this song is very bad my mum made me search absolutly terribble i might need some anti - depressents or happr pills

  • Or a spell checker.

  • pretty crap. My mum made me search it : /

  • This is not bad.

Sounds better the Jacko or other "Show" Kids that never learnt to read or write notes but can dance like Jumping Jack.

  • best video ever

  • First record ever bought, love it!

  • There ya go sandcastle kid

  • he had talent in a previous life

  • ted growney new canaan sweet laxer loves this song so much scaife 1

  • Hahahahha Hunter Huebsch loves this song

  • this is not crap, i just bet your like full on into metal or something..

  • This was number 1 on the day i was born. Although for me its every loser loses.

  • Not all crap is crap, there is entertaining crap also.

  • How bad is this? Uh, not that bad actually. Better than most of the shit in the charts right now.

  • @villagorilla I second that

  • It reminds me a lot of David Brent's solo stuff - the white shirt, the wistful glances.....

  • The video looks like it cost about a tenner to make.

  • this is actually a very good song, and well sung by him.

  • was he noo knocking of angie lol

  • tragic but bless him. Used to have a massive crush on NB x

  • this was number 1 the day i was born....utterly gutted!

  • snap haha wa ya bday

  • Wicksy? Statue?

  • wow, curly watts from emmerdale sings, it's like stars with eyes in here tonight!

  • wil you love it

  • This song makes me feel old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember dodging off school to try and get signed autograph of this bloke, stood for bloody ages in a queue and mist out by 4 in front as he had to go. The things yeh do when your young eh!

  • Oh Dear...

  • Gotta crack up watching this...

Well me at least, im from the future...

  • was he is EastEnders?

  • I was only a little girl when this came out... it was good at the time in those days...

I guess he was a loser then? lol! A loser that won! Haha oops!

  • yeah and how rite you were :)

im thinking of rereleasing this with the title

the time that i danced (how to keep the beat)

  • this is beutiful and i think nick berrys fit

  • I saw him on the palne

  • i kissed him on stage back in 89

  • Berry you chessy bastard!

  • So did Nick write this song for Lofty or what? It's a nice thought but every loser doesn't win. Just ask Arthur Fowler. (Unless a heart attack constitutes winning).

  • No, Simon May wrote it; he also wrote the EastEnders theme tune.

  • How bad?, It's a great song! XD

  • no it dont suck, its a reali nice song, cum bk on eastenders nick or heartbeat dont mind which

  • Brilliant song. People who weren't around in the 80s don't know what good music is. There are also probably people out there who secretly like this song but are afraid to admit it. Instead, they pretend to like the crap being churned out these days.

  • Amen!

  • Sorry people, but if some of you think this is the worst song ever then my pricks a bloater.

Seriously, half the crap in the charts today makes this track look like 'Sittin 'On The Dock Of The Bay'.

It's a decent enough track, not a classic, but it hardly deserves the sort of stick it got.

  • is it just me or is this song really good. i love it.

  • cheese at its best!!!

  • i am going to go and hang myself now..... goodbye cruel world, thanks nick berry xx

  • Nick Berry is a brilliant actor and a good singer. I think by far though, he is a better actor than singer.

Thanks for posing. Good video. x Ben x

  • Hi Nick!

  • THIS SUX!

  • Why do i sing this song to myself i didnt even know it was mr berry.

  • It appears that this taped off of the short-lived Friday TV series "Rewind". Right? Anyway this was the slow cut and it should have been a US hit.

  • I think this song was good. At least it was better than the rest of the crap that was out there.

  • I can believe I foud it, Wow!

  • Excellent

  • awesome song, never made many tho, shame

  • Hi Katieleeds - what a coincidence it would seems - it's een years that I heard this sond, but still love it very much - never heard it at Morrisons, though (as I worked there ). Tony

  • I still like this song now and sing along when they play it.... in a lift... or Morissons. I never understood why he was driving a barge though.

  • Hi Katieleeds - what a coincidence it would seems - it's een years that I heard this sond, but still love it very much - never heard it at Morrisons, though (as I worked there ). Tony

  • Haha I worked 11-hour Saturdays on the checkouts in Morissons for 2 years and the same tape just repeated all day. I remember "Every Loser Wins", "Power of Love" and "Hello, is it me you're looking for" being on it, and you could guarantee to hear each song 10 times on a typical Saturday. It was like torture!

  • Around the time that Nick Berry was a hit, there also also Feargal Sharkey, The Flying Pickets, The House Martins, Fine Young Cannibals, Cutting Crew and Erasure, among many others. I still enjoy listening to that kind of music. And I often wonder why that kind of music just seem to dissapear from the face of the Earth.

  • So 80's, yes Simon was a rat this was played in Eastenders when Michelle and Lofty split up. He is better at singing the Heartbeat theme.

  • I actually loved this song when it came out!

  • #1 for 4 weeks. We as a nation should hang our heads in shame. Nick Berry played a teriffic part in Simon Wicks though. What a bastard he was.

  • gay twat

  • I'd just come out of hospital after wrecking my body and mind in an accident when this song was released. I listenned to it over and over. I suppose it helped in some way.

  • i remember this was knocked off the number one spot on my 13 birthday i loved this song so much so on that party i made them play it that much that when they choose another song i cried

he should have come back in to eastenders in stead of stephen as he was a great character for the show

  • so Enders are bringing back Ricky, Bianca and Janine..is that to boost up the poor viewing ratings then.

    Top song this!!

  • top song i remember it on top of the pops in the 80's it was at number 1 for ages,

and we he first sung it in the queen vic lol

brings back the 80's this video

  • It's a damn shame that BBC couldn't promote him during the 80's when Rick Springfield and Jack Wagner were doing their Soap Opera/Music Careers..he would fit in fine. too bad the BBC couldn't promote eastenders more here on the other side of the pond..it beats passions. What ever happen Wicksy anyway???

  • I use to play this song every time my favourite tennis players lost!

  • IS HE A SINGER TOO

  • Bless him!! x

  • OMG, HIS FACE

  • Is that in a good or bad way.

  • Bad!

  • It sounds like a poor man's Barry Manilow attempt.

  • He should come back for a short stint to the show that gave him his break.

  • Apparantly he may well be in 2008.

Since Ricky & Bianca & Janine are all confirmed as returning to EastEnders, The new Executive Producer is in talks at bringing him back to Albert Square. Will be amazing if he does.

  • Yey!:-p

  • I loved him in Heartbeat!!!!! Nick was the best!

  • Brings back memories of when the world was a nicer place to live. Don't have to go back too far!

  • hes a west ham fan i believe, that is his only good point

  • The 1980's. Don't you just love' em?!!

  • This song is soo naive and bad!! but Nick is nice:)

  • I have been looking for this video for ages.

  • Just superb, I bought this when it was out in 86, #1 for 3 weeks can't be bad.

  • death2hiphopnRnB, I accept half your challenge. He starts sharp, maintains his sharpness throughout, and introduces strange wiggly-vocally bits pretending to be vibrato.

As I was 17 when I first heard this song, and dying unnoticed of unrequited love, I fucking love it.

Do I win half any prize?

  • I love this song!! Nick Berry is beautful!

  • I challenge anyone to say this is bad song compared to the fucking bollocks we've all got to suffer these days.

  • LEGEND

  • Bad song - but Nick is SO gorgeous!!

  • I could not fine a site to download it

  • Limewire

  • Unspeakably bad. I LOVE it.

  • nº1 on U.K (18-oct-1986)

  • i had a real big crush on nick when i was a teenager i seen him once in goathland filming heartbeat in 1995 and i was 14 ithought all my dreams had come true .i still love the classic episodes of heartbeat with nick and niamh in them but really cant bear the recent ones i have to point out i have grew out of nick as i am 26 married with children but brings back great teenage memeries

  • yeah, it would be great if there were any Heartbeat videos on Youtube.

  • like your style leeds

  • I didn't know that he was a singer too? He was my favourite character when he starred in the earlier episodes of Heartbeat.. :)

  • omg finally someone who likes heartbeat... hey do you know if there are any heartbeat videos on youtube???

oh an ya hes a singer sure he sings the heartbeat theme song!

  • Honestly, this song comes spontaneously to me if I lose at cards.....

  • I love this guy he's gorgeous I met him recently he's abit older now but still hot!

  • best selling single of 1986. you shouldnt compare it to todays music.

  • 2nd best! "Don't Leave Me This Way" was the best of 1986

  • you geek ;-)

  • That is horrific!so many bad memories!

  • this was brill when it came out it was a must hav 'vinal' single...how long ago lol

  • Nick berry is soooo hot!!! I totally agree wiv him that every loser wins once the dream begins. coz im a loser in luv :( and once i start college (my dream) i might win.:)

  • nick berry great singer/actor yum yum yum

  • The only memory this song gives me is the boat. at the start (thats missing) hes in a blue trad narrow boat that i use to live on with my X that he owns. The amount of times we was asked if this was the boat used in the video shock me that people remeber it.

  • cheesy but great

  • Its so bad its good!
