  • i spend 10 minutes trying to find fakeplastictreefingers comment which everyone is raving about...only to find he removed it....

    crap.

  • thank you fatih balis

  • Classical concert pianist obsessed with radiohead tunes - maybe other takes, but this is pretty sophisticated and technically, well, hes got chops a lot of people only dream of having.

  • This song rips out little pieces of my soul... in a good way.

  • Whoo,Turkey !

  • Whoo,Turkey !

  • Whoo,Turkey !

  • beautiful

  • He already has the music there. How convenient.

  • Comment removed

  • I don't think I'm ever going to try and cover Karma Police now. He gets really crazy towards the end. It's awesome! He is known to have a Radiohead cover CD. Therefore, I don't think he is surprising any true fans.

  • I don't think I'm ever going to try and cover Karma Police now. He gets really crazy towards the end. It's awesome!

  • I read "Recorded by faith balls" at 4:00

  • Does anyone know if this version is transcribed? My friend asked me to learn it and I just don't see how I can possibly play this arrangement by ear

  • @ASA1997x2345 I know for a FACT that there's a book out, somewhere - one of our pianists was working with it last night. I have yet to find it online, though. ;_;

  • Thinkin this Eddie Duchin listing is dripping with much better taste ~ IMHO ~ YouTube / Eddy Duchin (site = Carmen Cavallaro) Perhaps -- Mr. Duchin was working from better original material....

  • How could i have missed this jazz festival??? I live in Turkey for fucks sake

  • there has to be someone better. the heart shaped box try was crap. this is quite technical and very shitty.

  • OMG he is in the mother fucking zone when playing this!!!

  • Music is art, and art is where you look for it.

  • u r fuckng awesome dude ! brrrrrr

  • It's a so bad... He plays a jazz way any song of Radiohead, for what ? It does not work !

  • i loved it. that's all i have to say.

  • for a minute there, I lost myself

  • its just awesome

  • I think making the argument on what constitutes "real" music misses the point of art as a whole. It's not "fake" if it's bad and it's not "fake, if you don't like it. Arguing over what music is and isn't is like arguing who's in a mirror. "It's me in the mirror!" "No me! Just look at it!" "Music is what I think it is!"

  • @leseanpayne exactly, bashing other music genres is just childish. hear what you want to hear, but don't ignore the rest, just don't insult other people for hearing what they like.

  • many bass notes disgusting, very offuse

  • headache - not good music making

  • like :)

  • Some parts gave me the chills, but others a headache... altogether though I thought it was beautifully played and arranged :)

  • Do you have the sheet music for sale in the uk or up for download ?

  • @colemantwebster how is this gay are you stupid?

  • this is really good. shut the fuck up

  • can someone point me to an original composition from this "artist"

  • What do you get when you point a microphone at a computer?

    .

    .

    .

    .

    KANYE WEST!

  • @JohnnyRadiohead and t-pain and almost every rapper in our decade

  • I'm a poser too... a COMposer!

  • AMAZING

  • I like this performance. Way to go Chris.

  • Muzak...Mantovani was a good musician too...Good musicians do not necessarily make good music.

  • Muzak...

  • This is absolutely beautiful! OK computer is one of the greatest albums of all time.

Kanye West and those guys are just catering to a generation of idiots, considering that the majority of the population has an IQ below 110 it should be no surprise that the insipid garbage they spew out is so popular.

  • Don't like it

  • lol nice

  • fakeplastctreefingrs - SO TRUE !!!

  • really don't like this version

    he's probably a great musician

i just don't trust his judgment in making this song so crowded

  • recorded by fatty balls LMAO

  • beautiful

  • Love the song, like the idea, even like the pianist himself. But he's added far too much to this song. Truer to the original would have been nicer I think, but to each their own I guess...

  • I like how he talks to the audience. He seems so nice!

  • I love this band and the song is sublime. Every once in a while you get a band or an artist that really changes things, and this is one of them. BTW If you like this check out my music, it has a similar kind of vibe.

  • great performance

however, he can't seem to be able to keep a steady tempo

  • Rubato

  • i would really like to see this performance live...

  • @salesavalar ME Too!!

  • too much.

  • FANTASTIC

  • FANTASTIC

  • Good but I dislike his choice of voicing and the bass line is too chaotic in many parts where the simple beauty of the song is compromised. Fantastic ending I do say though

  • I agree. Even though this guy has more talent than I'll ever come close to I don't think this song benefits from it. I don't think he hears this song the same way I do.

  • i agree with this. Hep lays it like a cocktail pianist would play it. Real masturbatory like. It's ok, but definetly not "his own". Honestly, i have to agree with some people that it almost disservices the fragility of the originality.

  • Masturbatory? Has being an armchair online music critic really reached this level of cynicism ? He's introducing Radiohead to a new audience. Half these people at this performance are probably baby boomers out for dinner and a show. I'm a musician and have noticed that's its usually the least creative people that have to critique every fucking they see.

  • @AptivaXL Perhaps, but someone in the audience DID request it. I think you're seriously underestimating the popularity of Radiohead, considering that O.K. Computer has been called the Dark Side Of The Moon of the 90's. Still, this is an interesting interpretation of the song.

  • @bigtophalloween What? Reading comprehension dude.

  • @bigtophalloween Reading comprehension? What's to comprehend? You underestimate the appeal of Radiohead, assuming that the people in the audience aren't savvy enough to have heard the one of the biggest hits on one of the best selling records in the past twenty years. Your mom probably has that record, for christ's sake.

  • radiohead's finished pieces are pure art, so anyone who is going to put their own spin on a piece of art is going to be either be extending the orignal idea into a new place, or degrading it. I find that this degrades it. That's how I feel about radiohead, and this recreation. I find it masturbatory. Yea

if it serves to introduce baby boomers to radiohead then great, but otherwise they're still getting a degraded piece of original art. .

  • @neptuneL38 do you seriously think this is degrading? thom yorke would be so proud if he saw this, its an amazing tribute far better than having all their cds and know all its lyrics you groupie :( god i hate radiohead fans

  • @AptivaXL too true my good man/woman...

  • @AptivaXL Well said.

  • Comment removed

  • @fakeplastctreefingrs

I happen to disagree with that comment.

  • @fakeplastctreefingrs "imma gonna give it back to ya" I am SO with you on that.

  • they're artist entertainers. you can dispute that, but you can also fuck yourself. They exist outside of you, and even if a million of you existed, it still amounts to nothing. Suck an anonymous internet cock. I love radiohead, and little wayne and kanye. They all have different stories and points of view. Your point of view is cool too though

  • @fakeplastctreefingrs Kanye and Lil Wayne both excel at making music that many people enjoy. They both manipulate sound in a pleasing fashion and provide some great dance tunes that get people moving.

  • @fakeplastctreefingrs

First off, I'm not a huge fan of this cover it sounds like a mess, but i'm sure he's an amazing piano player. Second, I believe that Kanye West and Lil Wayne are amazing ARTISTS, Christopher O'Riley an amazing musician. As much as you may not like Kanye West and Lil Wayne, there is no way that you can take anything from them because they are obviously very talented people if they can make music that is so loved by so many people.

  • @123kjjhg then i must be a very talented person because i made a comment that was also loved by so many people. if everyone loves something then it must be good cause that's the only thing that's important right

  • @fakeplastctreefingrs

Ummm..... well when it comes to music, YES!! Maybe it's just me but if a lot of people like something then that something must be pretty good, right? I'm just saying that quite a few of these rap artist are very talented.

  • @123kjjhg im not a fan of rap or any hip hop music but if the artist writes his own music and is successful through it then he must be good weather you like the style of music or not

  • @fakeplastctreefingrs wtf kanye west isn't a real musician? LMAO you suck kanye is an amazing musician in his own style so is chris o'riley you poser

  • @Bananomon obvious troll is obvious

  • @TheLurkersDiary i see what you did there

  • @TheLurkersDiary i see what you did there

  • @Bananomon wow i hate kanye west fans. first of all i didn't say anything bad about chris o'riley and why am i a poser?

  • @fakeplastctreefingrs just look @ your own nickname and then see what you said about kanye, a true radiohead fan would respect his tunes, not only cause music should be respected but because he is actually a pretty damn good rapper, the only one who really rocks hard if you ask me. so yes you're a poser and gtfo troll

  • @Bananomon haha so if i was a REAL radiohead fan then i should like kanye west? of course! i should've known. i guess i'm not a fan. and i'm sorry my name angered you so much and i'm sorry i don't like kanye west. not everyone has to you douchebag

  • @fakeplastctreefingrs Ok sorry as much as I would love to agree with this I just can't. Now I don't know much about this Christopher O'Riley fellow but he's an excellent pianist, which is my instrument of choice. Now I don't know about Kanye but I know Lil' Wayne writes his own music, and whether you enjoy it or not doesn't make him any less of a musician and particularly doesn't make him a bad musician. 300 years ago "Pop" music would have been Beethoven so you can't really just label artists.

  • @fakeplastctreefingrs I think we can both agree that Nickelback sucks though.

  • @fakeplastctreefingrs You're a fool if you think that music and musicianship falls within such a narrow set of parameters. Music strictly speaking is actually very broad. Who are you to say what music is? If it draws people to it and draws out emotion and feeling then it does its job. Music comes in many shapes and sizes and it's very arrogant to clain that just because something doesn't conform to your definition that it is not music.

  • @fakeplastctreefingrs Do you realize he's playing pop music in this song?

  • @fakeplastctreefingrs yes he is a real musician, and ill give you little wayne hes a lyricist, but kanye west is a composer/producer whether you wanna believe or not he doesnt just rap he creates the songs and for you information he is a musical genius maybe not in the way you think but ask people in the industry he knows music, just watch "late orchestration" in which he assembles orchestral pieces to songs

  • @dgerena21 kanye west is not a composer.... a poser? yes... i might be talented at working with computers but im sorry to say he does not deserve to be put on the same level with real composers

  • @dfrench80 having looked back at this now i agree

  • @fakeplastctreefingrs do you know how hard it is to talk lyrics and put auto tune on them! then create a cliche beat! i mean come on two kids made antoine dodson famous for it must take skill!

  • @fakeplastctreefingrs maybe you just step off your high horse and accept that there's more than one approach to "music".

  • @Esudao he never said that the music of kayne and lil wayne istn music

he just said they arn´t amazing musicians

by the definition of musicians they arnt musicians at all because they dont really make their music most of it is made by computers

  • @EphraimRodrigez you have a point, but consider this: the "is this music or not discussion" is probably raging since the first electronic music surfaced, and i think everything, that is created by humans, and "sounds", is music.

  • @Esudao yes well there is a difference between electronic music (i love stuff like amon tobin myself) and chancing the voice of someone who cannot sing so it sounds like he could

  • @fakeplastctreefingrs I think if anything this proves that radiohead are good musicians, this guy is just playing it, they wrote it.

  • @fakeplastctreefingrs Your an idiot

  • Great just calm down !!!

  • lol not keen on the score either but to try to simulate the distortion from the track and such cacophony of sound on a piano takes some doing so ... quite a pianist

  • that is true now that i think about it. im not trying to be picky but i believe that the song is way more suited to be slow and theres just too many filler keys but alas its his interpretation and not mine so to each his own. like 4:00 to 4:15 .....really?

  • The undertones he can produce on the piano are just mind-blowing, like around 1:14 - 2:00. It almost sounds like an organ is playing softly in the background.

  • lol, you obviously haven't heard of this man. he is a genius and you are a dumb ass

  • Comment removed

  • This guy lives up the road from me. You should hear him play the drums!!!

  • You're so lucky, man. I'd be begging him for lessons constantly if I were in your shoes. =P

  • love it

  • Comment removed

  • It's true that his renditions are faithful, but I don't find it to be lacking in intensity at all. If anything, his accuracy is a tribute to Thom and the rest of the brilliance behind Radiohead. When Christopher plays his Radiohead covers, the transcription to piano is all he needs to make it his own, the genius behind the original compositions is free to shine through without being filtered through someone's need for individual artistic expression. Just my two cents. Play on Chris.

  • Christopher O'Riley-Paranoid Android FANTASTIC!

  • Chris is my lookalike cousin. We met for the first time in '06 at the Ford Amphitheater after a concert. Weird, as he looks more like my brother that my own brother does.

  • na man.. it just adds to it

  • he needs to take his damned foot off the sustain pedal. this is so sterile.

  • yez

  • Excellent pianist. I've always listened to him hosting From the Top on NPR.

Haha, O'riley is a great radio host and a great Radiohead arranger.

  • karma policee!!!! yeahhhh

  • Bought this album of itunes last week and have had it on repeat since. He really added a whole new layer of depth to their music.

  • Just shows how complex Radio head's music can be.

  • Comment removed

  • ...what are you trying to say niamhino?

  • Comment removed

  • "complexity in music is not necessarily a good thing, some of the best music ever written is very simple. "

So? This doesn't change that fact that Radiohead's music IS complex and IS good.

Plus, there was a guy on Radio 1 who was discussing how he'd converted Radiohead's work to classical music and how complex it was anyway, so you can...

    Shut the fuck up.

  • Comment removed

  • One word: Paranoid Android.

  • thats two words. haha that would be great though, this guy is pretty mindblowing

  • true dat

  • (Sigh)

I doubt if Christopher O'riley converted Three Blind Mice to the piano or even a modern pop song, it would sound half as good as Karma Police, and you know why?

Because Radiohead have dense, structured and layered music... fact. Because they're in the genre of Art Rock. Now I'm not a blind Radiohead fan, as a matter of fact, I don't exactly like Thom Yorke's personality very much. But I like they're music because it is complex which means it's good.

  • OH! But it looks like you managed to bullshit your way into insulting me because I used the term 'classical'. Fine, let me rephrase that for you, you audacious fuckwit. He adapted their music into a symphony using an orchestra. How ever you want to hear it. But don't try to insult my intelligence because it's something that I (obviously) don't take very kindly too.

    Hypocrite.

  • Comment removed

  • Like The Cure, Depeche Mode, Led Zeppelin, Supertramp, Pink Floyd, Radiohead can rank among the greats because listening to them is the equivalent of ear-sex.

  • You are a *Fucking Bitch*

    Gtfo, hater.

  • Good, leave. One less asshole to reply to with their nit-picking comments.

  • inhuman.

  • i love christopher oriely's work ive learnt quite a bit of his stuff and its all very intelligent music his interpretations of radiohead songs are brilliant but fir someone so talented i dont know how his playing can be so soulless

  • This music gives me the sensation of relaxing or taking my life off. Beautiful.

  • Amazing!!

    4:00 -4:20 was crazy!!

  • i love the pieanny

  • That was freaking awesome!

  • superb!!

  • Hey - 'askemeaboutmywiener' ... I think you're talking about Brad Mehldau. Great name by the way! :-)

  • incredible!!!!!!!

  • my buddy introduced me to another man who apparently translated all of OK Computer onto piano, this isnt the guy.. anybody know who im talking about? and yes ive googled it and it brought me to this guy.

  • Yeah man that album is tight, it's Radiodread and they do a raggae of all of OK Computer. Or if piano you're thinking Brad Mehldau

  • UN MOCO, baaaaaaa

  • UN MOCO. baaa

  • Nice work picking that out, cause it doesn't sound like he 'messes up' to me at all.

  • xor ftw

  • Does anyone here know if there is music sheets of the adaptations from O'riley of Radiohead ?

  • Yeah, his new album "Hold me to this" has Street Spirit.

  • does he do Street Spirit?

  • Wow. Just mind blowing.

  • amazing...

  • amazing...

  • As a great, great Radiohead Fan and as a passionate (even if unfortunately not so good) piano player I have to say, that this is one of the most amazing pieces of music, I've ever heard!

This wonderful song by Radiohead combined with that unbelievably amazing piano arrangement by Chris O'Reilly...

Tank you sooooo much (To Radiohead for the song, Chris for playing it that way, and felixferer for uploading the video) :-)!

  • amazing, that is the first word that comes to mind. this makes me want to learn how to play piano.

  • and yes its spelled "is"

  • I like it very much, and want to say that he has the right to cover any songs he wants and to add to that song anything from himself.

  • Christopher O'Reilly. He is quite talented, and I don't know about you, but I absolutely love hearing piano/orchestra arrangements of my favorite bands' music.

  • well you my friend is a fucking retard

  • no me gusta

  • istanbul jazz festivaliymiş burası..bilseydik giderdik.

  • does he just played randomly with his left hand?

cuz i think the melody on his left hand really doesnt sound good....
