I did choose a name that was not unique, although I don't have an "h" in my spelling of Alana. If I found a better name, I would have, but I guess I got used to it after I originally chose it. Since I first used it many years ago, I could not have stolen it, unless I knew you then!
My sexuality is like bi. If you are talking about my body, that's something different. At this point, I'm androgynous, but this video was a while ago where I was more masculine. It's just makeup, and my personality.
I deleted my facebook and myspace accounts a while before I started transition. It might be a while before i feel like making new profiles, but I would consider it once everything is official and done. I try to network in other ways.
im watching all your vids now. im on the forlorn marathon. i would imagine the voice thing is difficult . i wish my voice sounded more like the voice i hear than the voice that other people hear.
I don't know if I could stand a forlorn marathon, but I thank you for watching them. Voice is not that hard, but it does take time and lots of practice. Ultimately, I think it's best to get to a place where you can accept the voice you can produce, but at the same time, keep trying to improve it.
I plan to, but not yet, and nothing too drastic. I have a little celebration in mind for the future, when I reach an important goal, and that will be one of the ways I enjoy it. I'm looking forward to it!
A major reason to be subtle about physical changes is that I'm not totally out. As time goes on, I'll have more discussions with those close to me, and I'll be more comfortable expressing myself.
In australia, hormones are very cheap, because the government subsidizes prescription medication (esp. for low income earners), so you may not need health insurance if this is the case in the usa.
We hopefully will have a national health program soon in the USA. But even with health insurance, there's no guarantee that they will be covered, because many health providers do not cover certain medical aid for transsexuals. Even if they can't be covered by insurance, there's always buying cheaper drugs from other countries, like Canada, or without a prescription. Soon enough, in months, I'll find out what the cost will be for me. I am confident that it will be worth it!
and candi is absolutely hilarious!! (her "Reasons 2 date Transsexuals" had me breathless!) Granted she does do serious and informative videos but most of her stuff is pretty tongue in cheek
I see that your a fellow star wars fan.(I want that shirt!) you can check out some slightly out of date shots of my star wars shrine/room on my myspace. the url is on my profile.
I agree. They are both entertaining and informative. Once I saw a video by Candi about voice, I knew what I was going to do.
Actually, I like Star Trek: The Next Generation more, but Star Wars is good, too. I still have to get the Star Wars DVD's, although I've been watching movies less lately.
If you want to be a trap, too, I can send you a message with the site I got the shirt at. I found the YouTube videos and the shirt design from 420chan's /cd/ board.
