safer, very few serious crimes in a city of 14 million; best food choices and great authentic Chinese food; seldom see overweighted people; girls so pretty and in fashon; police don't carry guns; people not aggressive; great shopping experience with reasonal prices; and residents are very happy.

shanghai is so different from New York, it is hard to compare the two. New York is a lot older than Shanghai. Shanghai didnt become a city until like about just 100 years ago. I guess the similarity is that both are immigrant cities. Shanghainese Culture itself isnt indeginous, but more like a collection of neighboring Wuyue Culture, 19/20 century colonial western culture, modern Chinese corperate culture, etc. In a way Shanghai is like New York in its teen.
