@nigellinaballerina Thanks......again, it's a variation of the groove. The student at the time was more interested in the 2/3 polyrhythm that combines with the triplets on the toms. I wasn't trying to reduplicate the sound.....nor could I have at the time as I'd not listened to it....or even studied it. It was done cold in between a few other things I was filming at the time. (just did it to blow off some steam!)

It's a fun a pattern though.....

Good Lord! When you first sat down and started wailing on that mounted floor tom, it looked like you were tryin' to beat the demons out of it. Decent cover, but I much prefer the flams and such on the dbl bass (or single if you're just that good).

It's a Pearl Prestige Session Select Fusion kit. I believe they had Aquarian Performance II's on them back when that was recorded. I never liked them.

If you wanna make it sound really good try to the very first thing with the floor tom on the bass drum. It takes a bit of practice but I got it.
