This is how we used to get bracket speakers from the rear decks of cars back in the 80's. Tempered glass just beads when hit with a tiny piece of spark plug. YOu can stuff your hand right throught it withough getting cut and it makes just a tiny popping sound....if you do it right.

you could take your time breaking off a piece of a sparkplug or you could just use a rock

It's not so much as the velocity in which you throw the porcelain, but the charge in it from the whole spark plug. The charge in the porcelain reacts with the static electricity in the window's tampering, which causes the spiderweb. But you do still need to throw it hard enough, especially if it isn't freshly charged.

because the porcelain on spark plugs is harder than the glass and glass is under tension and when it hits the glass it breaks the tension and shatters like if you use a milled center punch same effect cause the high speed steel is harder than glass and it has a point
