Not going through a proper safety demonstration is against the law and if it were me, I would have reported the purser as well as the crew in a strongly worded letter to members of authority at the SAS head office as well as informing the correct regulatory body (CAA etc).
In my opinion I'd say that the pilots explanation, not stewardess as you wrote, is rather well formulated.
I understand you missed out on the part that all forms of electronic equipment should be switched off. I'm sure you're aware that the use electronic equipment, after the crew has informed you it needs to be shut off, is against regulations. If you can't follow such a simple command you should perhaps refrain from flying.
@GoranKAH Dantorp fly's all over the world, so I think he knows the rules and regulations off the plane hes sitting in. Besides if I was on that plane, after all the things the crew has done wrong, my biggest worry wouldnt be one man with a camera. A 10 hour delay is unreal
@dantorp11 Well, when someone says purhaps you shouldnt fly, to YOU. I couldnt believe it. He clearly doesnt understand who you are, and its more than just a hobby. That not only are you an ideal passenger for every airline line you fly with, but you are also capible of piloting many different jetliners yourself. So to hear that, i just a had to say something. But your response to it, was that of any good aviator. Calm and Cool. Dan you must have patience of a Saint, 10 hours! Just Nuts
Thats sad. And amagine that person who was supposed to pick you up at your destination waiting those extra 8hrs. and imagine how much they would have to pay for parking. At Pearson its like $3 for every 20 min. !
SAS has serious logistics problems because they are a small airline supporting 3 heterogeneous lines of aircraft: MD, BOE and Airbus. They are among the last Euro airlines to fly MD-80s, so they are at the end of a very long supply chain if something goes wrong. Another problem is deciding to compete vs BA & AF or RyanAir. I used to like SAS, but they got so cheap they refused to give out cups of free water on European flights. I wish them luck. It will be an expensive bailout if they fail.
Companies just can't afford to be as unprofessional as this, especialy in this day & age, with customers being able to document their experiences & and share them with virtualy the whole world. I hope someone from SAS management sees this comment & takes heed to rectify this shambolic farce.
I disagree with you. I think you flying more than I do but on all flights I have been onboard, I must say that there has been one of the best. SAS is a major airline, and of course it depends on the crew how the flight will be. They hwo work at SAS are old people and they mostly stay angry i think. I´m not blame you, had not booked me on another flight with them for a long time after this kind of thing occurred
i always thought SAS was never going to be my first option for flying, but what i just read in your description moves it to the lowest possition in my opinion :(
the only bad experience i had was with american airlines, i always thought i would love flying with them but that crew was very unpolite. in my personal opinion, a company that has never failed to me is iberia, i have flown it really much and always with pleasure, i dont know your opinion about this...
Well things do go wrong, and the flight was safe because they dealt with it. It would have been unsafe if they decided to fly out with the flat battery. So i don't understand how it is unsafe. The crew dealt with the issue so I can't understand why your getting on their back?
I think £12 is not enough have to agree with you on that. I think I once bought a bottle of coke from Manchester airport for about £3 :O madness! So maybe they should have given you more like £20 per person :)
@FrameFreaks88 No, my point is that the chance that they flew TO LHR with a flat battery is extremely large and that makes it a pilot error to begin with...
Sad story. I have the same opinion about things, and please dont take this the wrong way as I always love your videos especially your spottings videos. But sometime let my bad stories witht the airlines get ahead of me andI say theyre a bad airline. At least you werent stuck in ATL for 14 hours over night thinking you were goin home to see your family then coming home and they forgetting your luggage. . SAS is a very good airline as I have known to fly with them, and one mistake shouldnt change u
@gryffindorhouse122 Well, I have flown them a lot, and also, of course I'm not offended or anything :) I have heard from many people that they're good on long-haul flight but inside Europe, let's not talk about it :/
wow I'm totally speechless :D concerning your statement that no crew member was showing how the things are done while that FA went through the safety demonstration, I flew several times with various airlines in the last weeks, and even there no F/A was showing how to open the doors in case of emergency or anything else, so maybe this isn't a regulation anymore? Even on the screens in the airplane there weren't any safety videos except on one flight...
@dantorp11 but that would be very dangerous for the passengers then, I bet on my flights were a lot of people aboard who flew their first time, so in an emergency they would not really have known what to do... :O

@GoranKAH Many airlines do allow filming onboard and if SAS happens to be one that doesn't, I actually don't really care. Have a good one :)
