That sort of thing happens alot with the WWE sadly
The guys who are no longer working for them ceases to exist it would seem, but if it was someone who was HUGE in WWE who died working for another compay that would of course be different story, then you'd see dvds and tribute dvds flying
I had the honor of meeting Jorge, during my senior year of high school. This was years before I became involved in pro-wrestling. His picture is even in my school's yearbook (spanish club). In his later years, he became more devoted to his Roman Catholic faith. RIP Jorge, forever safe in the arms of Jesus Christ.
Christ, only 44 years old, living in continual pain, confined to a wheelchair, dialysis. There's a hell of a lot more to life than whether or not this guy was a great wrestler. RIP.
@ChromeGhost0219 yes he died. google "gigante gonzalez" in the argentinian version of google for more information. he had a tumor in his pituitary gland and he also had diabetes.
He was the best "real" giant as far as being able to move and his agility. I hope he made alot of money and I hope he still has alot... I just wonder why all these big guys used to go to other wrestling companies after leaving wwf or wcw at the end of there careers. was the money jus that good or what?
yes gigante aka giant gonzales is to a wheel chair but hes not really poor. almost a millionare he is. he also gets paid from disability. hes 43 and alive today in a school in argentina
this is 1995. gigante started wrestling in 1989 and retired in 1995. you are the retard. prove me wrong. hook me up with some gigante matches from the late nineties
@gamerkid199998 who are you talking to? because if you're talking to me, i said this was 1995. i don't understand what your coming after me for, but whatever... Besides, if you want to call me a "dumbass... slowass retard" then at least figure out how to spell "says". Retard....
@ Bloobloo78 After this match, El Gigante announced he was retiring from professional wrestling due to ill heath. This match took place at the end of his 5-6yr career
El Gigante was Giant Gonzalez from the wwf. this was his last match. His last match was on February 8, 1995, against The Great Muta in New Japan Pro Wrestling. He then had to retire due to health issues.
poeple he dos not suck he would have been the best big man
@CapTashman : I have to agree. I always thought he was terrible, but after learning he is confined to a wheelchair now and has to be hooked up to a dialysis machine I feel bad for him. Being a wrestler myself I feel for him because whether he was good or not he was still one of us. I still think they could have drawn money with him if they put a mask on him and never let anyone get to him for awhile.
i can see that the japanese referee is treating el gigante unfair. You can see the referee allows muta to use the steel chair againts gigante and when it comes to his turn to use the chair the referee stops him. isnt that true?
It is a common theme. For example, in tag matches, the heels doubleteam at will but when the face rushes across the ring to help, the referee blocks him.
Nice comedy match. I liked when Muta first aimed the mist at the Giant's groin, and then the second time, stood on the chair. A nice lite interlude from so many of Muta's brutal and bloody matches on here.
This match was freakin' funny. LOL! El Gigante couldn't sell a great match because his knees were already about gone. I wonder how Muta didn't break up in laughter?
This is a pretty sad match to watch. El Gigante looks like he's in pain the whole match--like his joints are killing him. I don't think the man's even 40 yet and he's confined to a wheelchair.
El Gigante had to be the worst perfomer to ever get in the ring. I remeber his fued with Sid during early 90's in WCW. Worst matches in the history of pro wrestling. Feel bad for Muta here; not even he was able to carry this guy.
Yeah, that's right - Tajiri vs Great Khali in the days before Vince McMahon became a multi-trillionaire and bought every single wrestling company in the world *lmao*
At least Muta has a sense of humor. Bums like Hogan do better in japan because they're not allowed to be lazy and still work. In WCW, Hogan was booking and had a contract that pretty much guaranteed he could do nothing in the ring and collect $1,000,000+.
Jorge Gonzales (Giant Gonzalez, El Gigante), 40, is confined to a wheelchair these days. He told an Argentinean newspaper that he was doing what he could to survive, but things were rough. Gonzales is hoping to get some sort of aid from the Argentinean government. Gonzales has faced numerous health problems in the past few years.
Ha, I remmember that episode! He was a circus freak and then fell into the water or something like that. I love Baywatch. I also liked the espisode when Hogan, Macho Man, Vader, and Flair wrestled eachother.
I remember when Giant Gonzales wore the same outfit he wore in WWF. Also, when Flair and Macho Man were fighting in the ring, it was funny how they put in those cheesy punching sound effects.
ElGigante couldnt make it in the basketball world so he was brought into wrestling...and managed to blow every single match he was in. Muta was probably like "are you fucking kidding me" when he heard he was booked against this 8 ft doofus
Did Muta just spew Asian Mist to his rival's nuts?
