@jumpyourbone The film was made as part of a media studies project, after writing a critical investigation on a topic in the media we needed to create a media product that linked. Our investigation was about drug use in movie biopics and if we should be trying to show more of the heartache that goes with these stories of fantastic people who made mistakes that sometimes cost them their lives. Our investigation was also on government funded projects to raise awareness.

I think a movie about River Phoenix would be great. Not only was he a talented actor, but a strong environmental activist who also had a caring heart for animals by not eating meat. River captured our hearts through his films, music, and life values. His tragic passing shocked us all. I don't want to remember his death but remember the way he lived. Knowing the world once had a River Phoenix puts a smile on my face.

Interesting...I would like to see a true-to-life story of River Phoenix, but not just about his drug abuse. He was an extraordinary actor, and that part of him should be celebrated as well. The tragedy of his death was that he was so good and so young, but I'm also tired of his fans making him into some kind of "angel." He was a very talented but confused young man, like I was. The film should be an accurate portrayal of the whole man.
@Lieberschon Your comment appears to be the most agreed with. Including by myself. Obviously this video goes a little to the extreme in reversing his image as an 'angel'. (Although, this is what our brief required). He was a great actor and an inspiration to many, but the truth is he should still be with us today. It may not be easy for fans to watch, but it is true. On the positive side, i think his death by drug overdose has made people think twice about taking drugs themselves.
@rikki444 the scene with the needle was based on real life when he first tried heroin he couldn't bring himself to do it so his dealer pushed it in for him, as for English actors this was filmed in England so not a lot we can do there.

@jumpyourbone The film was made as part of a media studies project, after writing a critical investigation on a topic in the media we needed to create a media product that linked. Our investigation was about drug use in movie biopics and if we should be trying to show more of the heartache that goes with these stories of fantastic people who made mistakes that sometimes cost them their lives. Our investigation was also on government funded projects to raise awareness.

I think a movie about River Phoenix would be great. Not only was he a talented actor, but a strong environmental activist who also had a caring heart for animals by not eating meat. River captured our hearts through his films, music, and life values. His tragic passing shocked us all. I don't want to remember his death but remember the way he lived. Knowing the world once had a River Phoenix puts a smile on my face.

If someone said to me than I take too many sleepills I would be happy because mean than someone care about me.

Interesting...I would like to see a true-to-life story of River Phoenix, but not just about his drug abuse. He was an extraordinary actor, and that part of him should be celebrated as well. The tragedy of his death was that he was so good and so young, but I'm also tired of his fans making him into some kind of "angel." He was a very talented but confused young man, like I was. The film should be an accurate portrayal of the whole man.

@Lieberschon Your comment appears to be the most agreed with. Including by myself. Obviously this video goes a little to the extreme in reversing his image as an 'angel'. (Although, this is what our brief required). He was a great actor and an inspiration to many, but the truth is he should still be with us today. It may not be easy for fans to watch, but it is true. On the positive side, i think his death by drug overdose has made people think twice about taking drugs themselves.

@rikki444 the scene with the needle was based on real life when he first tried heroin he couldn't bring himself to do it so his dealer pushed it in for him, as for English actors this was filmed in England so not a lot we can do there.
