She is SOOOO worth the drive! I drove (or at least my daughter drove me) from Cincinnati, Ohio to Ann Arbor Mich to see her. The best show I have EVER attended.
She is absolutely fabulous/fantastic live, especially with her band (Tanya on bass and Samantha on drums).
Thank you LSUBuff..so good to see Ruthie and Cyd Cassone together on this video. The two of them put on an unforgettable show in St. Louis at the Focal Point, a similarly small venue..these videos take me back to that show. Tomorrow, God willing, I will drive 120 miles to Columbia, MO to see her for the second time, live. I need to meet an "end of the day" deadline on a big project and then I'll hit the road..An evening filled with the music of Ruthie Foster..what a great way to reward myself!!
@LSUBuff The show in Columbia was outstanding. I was concerned that I might not like the new band in comparrison to the intimate 2 woman show I saw in '02...but Ruthie and the girls are phenomenal, so to speak. Ruthie's connection with her audience hasn't changed...still feels like she's having a one-on-one conversation with you thru music...Huge congrats on her Grammy nomination...she deserves awards and notice & music fans deserve to know her. We can't be selfish & keep her all to ourselves!
I'd drive 100 miles to see her. She's fabulous!!!
