  • Fry's really lost weight since this hasn't he?

  • ...He narrated the Harry Potter FILMS?

  • @VoiceofCthulhu I guess he meant the audiobook, huh?

  • @VoiceofCthulhu @neonatalpenguin I believe he meant videogames

  • Holy crap, Fry and Laurie?! I should look that up!

  • @Matrinique They worked together in A bit of Fry and Laurie, Jeeves and Wooster and Blackadder(2nd series Fry was regular and Laurie was guesting, 3rd series reverse, and they both were regular in 4th series). All three titles are good.

  • WTF is Stephen Fry wearing? Who gave him those clothes?! SNEAKERS?! REALLY!

  • lol love how there advertising the DVD when all the series are on youtude

  • Love that he is wearing chucks!

  • A Bit Of Fry And Laurie series 1 is so fucking funny!

  • I love stephen fry. I'd love him to become an American citizen. I think he's the English Kevin Smith.

  • @ashtongrist yes he is - who is this cunt?

  • LMAO at Yaser Arafat!

  • @807marisol well he has read all the harry potter books! You can buy the audiobooks, I love them :)

  • Oh my god, he's wearing all stars.

  • @naakrd haha and ....

  • MAHCOLLEAGUE!

  • They seriously need to get QI on tv over there.

  • Craig Ferguson is now my favorite american tv host because he had on Stephen Fry, Matt Smith and Karen Gillian :) all three i'd love to meet.

  • I bet it's been a while since Craig's been called British

  • @Coolguyrob2006 almost never hes scottish

  • @seonidh scottland is part of Britain you fucking idiot !!

  • @TheCJsamson DUH! and people dont call themselves English or Scottish or Welsh then? Craig is Scottish calls himself as such.

  • @TheCJsamson

Not that they particularly want to be, the Scottish independance movement and all that.

  • @sometart The Scots don't really have a choice - the entire island is named "Great Britain" so it's a bit hard to get away from. England = the southern part of the island, and Scotland = the northern part of the island. While people sometimes call the United Kingdom "Britain", that's not an accurate name.

  • What is religion all abut?

Who has got the biggest invisible friend?

My God :-) Love from ITaly Steven...

  • I loooove Stephen Fry's voice! I just want him to read me a bedtime story. :) lol

  • There isn't enough vomit in the world - lmfao! Class.

  • That Madness sketch is one of the reasons I can't watch House. I just expect hugh to shout 'Tally Bally Ho, with nobs on' and pull a funny face.

  • wow he's taller than craig.

  • How old is this show? It looks like it's from the 90s...

  • How did Craig Furguson go from being a Scottish stand-up comedian in the 80s, to an American show host? And what the hell is that ridiculous accent he's developed?

  • @nakedmambo its scotofornian

  • Funny that the "Bit of Fry and Laurie" clip was more about Hugh than Stephen.

  • Has anyone noticed that whenever Stephen is in America he is asked about Hugh and whenever Hugh is in England he is asked about Stephen?

  • Fry is still more popular than Laurie, believe it or not...

  • @DomokomoNeyo I believe it.

  • @DomokomoNeyo It's not that Fry is more popular... Hugh Laurie is mostly known as House, Stephen Fry, on the other hand is known as Stephen Fry.

Laurie seems a bit dull outside his acting and Fry's career is mostly outside of acting.

  • These two accents, I just had an eargasm!!!

  • let me just say i miss Craig's soundbox and verbal abuse.

  • How much coffee does Ferguson have before he starts interviewing his guests? Go watch the old Letterman show with Natalie Portman when she was 14 and Alec Baldwin. He's the same annoying, interrupting prick. The guests are awesome, like Stephen Fry and these guys just blabber on.

  • Heh. "Pointless, as wasps are." I got it, but the audience didn't.

  • Everybody should own a pocket Fry.

  • I have the same trainers!! YAY :)

  • @liampw20 he most likely respects your opinion

  • I wonder if he thinks it's tiresome, always the first thing they ask is about Hugh Laurie. I know they're great friends but is he thinking, what about meeeeee?

  • @cath5100 Stephen Fry is considered a national treasure in England. I don't think he particularly cares that Hugh Laurie gets more attention in America.

  • "well.. there isn't enough vomit in the world is there?"

  • "Well I mean there isn't enough vomit in the world, is there?" Brilliantly said.

  • He's wearing my shoes!!!!

  • not a good thing to dis god in america, Stephen... they'll beat you to death with their bibles

  • I so love his accent...the british accent is so great!!!

  • @Dratini999

You do know that Craig Ferguson is Scottish, and that Craig Ferguson also has a British accent?

  • @cmwissy I do know that there are different british accents like scouse or cockney but they are all different from the american or australian one and that's what I like about it.

  • @Dratini999 Scouse and Cockney are both English accents. They also have different regional accents in Wales & Scotland so it's all really different. That's why it makes me surprised when people, & they do tend to be American people, think there is such a thing as a British accent!! The idea of that is weird when there isn't even such a thing as an English accent! Sorry for the lecture!

  • @Rachiejane1 Oh I don't mind being lectured xD I'm german and there are a few students that have been in america and have a certain accent and our teachers have all (different) english accents and though they differ from each other they still are more alike than compared to the american one.

But your right I'd better say I likethe scouse, london, oxfort, irish, welsh and scottish accent ;)

  • @Dratini999 You really think Geordie, Scouse, Manc and Cockney sound similar? I think they all sound completely different but then that's me - I live here so maybe that's why. I have German family and have been to Germany, Koln and other places. Even there there are different accents! But Britain has 3 different countries and people think that it has only 1 accent and they tend to think it is the 'Queen's English' one! Oh well!

  • @Rachiejane1 I know they are different but to me they they sound all very cool and I love'em all. so instead of listing every single accent I just say the british to make clear that I do not like the american or australian one.

and it's like with the german accent. Of course there are alot of different accents they still ALL sound different from the austrian one. even though they speak german in austri, too. That's what I mean. xD darn...I think that's the longest discussion I had on youtube

  • @Dratini999 Nooooo! You missed my point! People say 'British accent' and they mean the English accent. People say Scottish accent, Welsh accent and British accent, not Scottish, Welsh and ENGLISH accent. This is what I mean. I think you just did the same? I wasn't being over sensitive about all the different accents in England - just that people say British when they mean English which is wrong. Yeah - this has been a long discussion!! Sorry I didn't explain properly!

  • @Rachiejane1 xD ah ok now I see your point! I was in Scottland last week and scottish really is much different from the english accent. Or gaelic ...

Sorry ^^; I did not really get your point before xD

  • @Dratini999 Yeah - that's what I meant. Why don't people say English when they mean English - not British instead???! Hope you had a nice time in Scotland. I haven't been there myself but I hear it's nice. And they have shortbread & battered Mars Bars there...! x

  • @Rachiejane1 Oh Scotland was GREAT!!! All those carstles and the highlands...beautiful. I was in Edingburgh and Glasgow and both cities were brilliant! You should really go there. ^^x

  • @Dratini999 what's a carstle, did you mean castle dear

  • @liampw20 oh you could recognize the word although I misspelled it so horribly??? Awesome!

  • @Rachiejane1 You do know that in the UK we say 'American Accent' when, too, there are different ones? Everyone does it quit whining.

  • @Dratini999 There is no such thing as A British accent...

  • "flecked with vomit"

judging by mr. Ferguson's delivery, it does not suprise me.

  • Britain rocks

  • craig pisesme off, is he american or scoitich?? he doesnt even know but mr fry is one of the most intelegent people in the world

  • @nemanja740 His accent suggests he is Scottish. However, he does not represent Scotland.

  • yasser arafat really said that??

    wow

  • @icharisghost Please explain how the wonderful Stephen Fry is an arrogant pig? He is one of the most humble celebrities out there. You strike me as someone with a chip on their shoulder or a complex

  • is craig ferguson drunk?

  • @norulers85 No, just Glaswegian.

  • @norulers85 Nope, because he's an ex-alcoholic and doesn't touch the stuff anymore.

  • Hugh Laurie + Stephen Fry = awesomeness :D

  • "There isn't enough vomit in the world"

  • I wanted to see what Camryn Manheim had to say!!!

    NOT!

  • odd that jim dale did the us ones seeming as hes also english

  • well edited.

    Great clip

  • I knew Fry had put on a great deal of weight at one point, but--WOW!!! I'm glad he's down to a healthy size these days.

  • M'Colleague!

  • i like how he can joke about his past. way to be a man!

  • wow this is old. no tie!

  • Craig Furguson is not in Fry's league.

  • only a few are...and none of them are tv presenters or show hosts

  • It's Ferguson not Furguson. Try proofreading.

  • not many people are mate

    he is incredibly intelligent

  • snazzy trainers

  • How lovely! Stephen is just all around amazing. And thanks to your sharing this, I now have a new favourite Fry quote: "There just isn't enough vomit in the world". That one will come in useful, I'm sure :)

  • Craig Ferguson seems a little upset whenever he talks about his past probably because he was hugely underrated comedian in Britain and was driven to some pretty sad lows. The Ferguson Theory was a genius show in places

  • Love the comment, "people who are recently sober"

    LOVE HIM

  • "narrator of the herry potter movies?" is that what he said? there is no narrating in those movies. did he maybe talk about audiobooks or something?

  • @kyrastube i do believe he meant to say "Harry Potter books on tape" which is Craig's mistake

  • ah what I thught. so it is fry who read them in then? thats cool. :)

  • Fry did the British versions, and Jim Dale did the US versions. I don't know which english versions got distributed in other countries, although I suppose Amazon makes it a moot point.

  • @Cafeeine aaah ok. I dont remember if the english copys Ive got was read by someone with brittish accent or not... (I live in sweden)

  • Well, you can check Dale here for comparison

    v=XFfpX1vsQUY

He was the narrator in Pushing Daisies.

  • @kyrastube Yes - Stephen narrated the Harry Potter books although I think they had Jim Dale in the US (although I have no idea why they didn't have Stephen!!) Then again they did change the title of The Philosopher's Stone to Sorcerer's Stone in the US for some reason? Don't know why they always change things that don't need changing?

  • @Rachiejane1 Did you know that the books are different in wording too?! I read the British version and thought there were an awful lot of typos until I lived in the UK for a few years and realized the US has a translated english to english version... LOL

  • @Blackbirdwayr Really? I thought changing the title of the book because the American publishers didn't think that Americans would be able to understand the word 'Philosopher' was bad enough but changing the words?? And typos? Wow - the media there really has a low opinion of its people don't they! Maybe it was English slang or phrases & that's why they changed it? You'd know more than me about that though having lived in both! Strange that I get US slang & phrases & I've never lived there though

  • Ugh - did you have to show that sketch? There are so many better ones, and ones that showcase Fry better.

  • Gosh, I wish they'd air QI on BBC America. I realize the majority of Americans wouldn't get their pop culture references, but I don't care. It's such a great show, and Stephen Fry is awesome.

  • what is he said in 4:30?

  • hes a national treasure

  • Stephen does this show IQ which is hilarious...on the BBC

  • it's actually called Qi which is short for "Quite Interesting"

  • ...its QI

  • for once, Craig got in his show someone as funny as himself!

  • how many advert breaks are there in shows in the USA, i thought we had it bad in the UK

  • They have about 3 a show. If u watch an american show eg: scrubs, friends and the simspons when it goes blakc for about 3 seconds that when the adverts would be run (Obviously a minute of adverts not 3 seconds)

  • Craig Ferguson is always trying to tell jokes instead of doing an interview. Is funny how he doesn't succeed when he the fellow being interviewed is way funnier and smarter than him, and gives a profund and complete answer to his futil questions.

  • he should be a patient in the new house season

  • that would be bloody awesome!! =D

  • They narrate the Harry Potter films?

Is the an America only thing?

  • I'm sure Craig meant to say the Harry Potter audiobooks. Not the films. =)

  • he means the audio books stephen fry reads them...

  • Wow, very surprised Stephen Fry would come on an American talk show. Glad it was on Craig though, two of my favorite people on the same show is too awesome.

  • we get jeeves and wooster in the states thank god but that's all stephen fry wise... =/

  • wooo! stephen fry! love him!

  • how well known is stephen fry in the usa?

I know Hugh Laurie is huge in america because of House. But in the UK Fry is probably more well known that Laurie because he is on Tv mor often. I.E. QI

  • I doubt most people know who he is. I accidently came across a documentary of his and thats how I learned of him but I don't think he has done any work over here.

  • very few in the states know who Stephen Fry. We dont get QI here, but that is an amazing show

  • He is pretty well-known in Canada, at least among my friends and family. Maybe it's because we are still colonials, basically?

  • Sadly, he is not as well known here in America as he should be. Besides his voice-overs in various movies and such, like "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", most people only remember him from his role in "V for Vendetta". Basically, it's only thanks to YouTube and NetFlix that we are aware of the brilliant comedic genius that is Stephen Fry.

I myself just bought the entire series of "Jeeves and Wooster". To me, there could never be a more perfect man to play Jeeves.

  • lol WASPS!

  • wasps not WASPS :P

  • I love Stephen Fry. A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Blackadder, and Jeeves and Wooster have to be the three greatest television shows he's appeared in (along with Hugh Laurie).

  • I am an American and I love Stephen Fry. :)

  • I was just wondering how well known Fry was in the US. Like in the UK I'd say nearly everybody would know who he was. 9/10 people at least? For some reason the other day I was wondering how well known he was in the US (or any other place for that matter)

    :)

  • I dont know about the US, but in Canada, I'd say 4/10 people.

  • i'm from croatia and i was practically raised on "a bit of fry and laurie", "blackadder", etc... i mean, before and after the war... so, he is well known here... i personally adore him, but then, i love british comedy and standup...

  • I'd say the opposite, nearly everybody here would *not* know who Fry is. granted there are lots of people living in America, so it's not hard to find his fans from America on the internet, but I bet if you did a survey at an average mall or grocery store most people'd say "who?"

I know because I am a huge fan, and I often ask people I know if they have heard of him, but I almost never get an affirmative response.

  • btw, I don't mean to say "I know because..." like "I am the ending authority" just that's where I get my information from.

  • Two of my favourite comedians of all time and my favourite pair of shoes?!?! Could things get ANY better?!

  • Stephen in converse???

  • His shoes reflect his great ability to converse.

  • ah ah ah!

  • HAHAH! That was an excellent pun... m'colleague.

  • Why am I mostly overwhelmed by Fry's converses in this video?

    CONVERSES!!! *ahem*

    Oh Mr Fry. You're wonderful.

  • Love men which have good vocabulary, or even normal to talk without "all that stuff", or "you knoooow" like we do=)

  • "M'colleague Hugh" or however you spell it, it's always nice to hear them give respect to one another.

  • We should start a Stephen Fry religion. I'd worship him.

  • better.. a hugh laurie and stephen fry religion that would be the perfect religion ^^

  • @vesperlovett, even though they are both atheists?

  • -.- you didn't get what i said at all....

  • He's got the same colour chucks I have ^^ That"s cool. And he's soooo funny! <3

  • Fry (on greeting card poetry): "Well, there isn't enough vomit in the world."

    LOL

  • As awesome as the clip of Fry&Laurie was, Fry only had 2 lines in it.

  • Dang, Hugh Laurie's really young in that clip.

  • All religious are the history of people arguing whose got the biggest invisible friend. ( Craig Ferguson ) smart

  • It was yasir arrafat or how ever you write his name

  • Palestine's deceased leader....google him.

  • Why are you telling me this?

  • I thought you asked.

  • steven fry is a genius

  • Stephen

  • LMAO

  • Stephen Fry has probably the coolest show ever made. It's called QI. (quite interesting). check it out on youtube. It's awesome.

  • Two of my favourite comedians of all time and my favourite pair of shoes?!?! Could things get ANY better?!

  • i think it says he was a drunk who couldnt get his act together who changed his life in a different country.

I think Craigs funny, just because he is not on the bbc doesnt make him unfunny.

  • HERE HERE!!

  • Viva la Revolucion :)

No, the beeb are too easy to target these days.

  • idiot....

    Hear Hear....

  • Stephen Fry doesn't even compare to any of those. But he'd be the first to point out their talents. Couple that with an enormous intellect, add a great sense of humor, and you have one of the greatest comic geniuses of the last 30 years.

  • Only Americans would put down Stephen Fry! Sure, those guys are very funny, theres no doubt, and I love them, but you are clearly not cultured or humerous enough to judge Stephen Fry with that off hand put down!
