However upbeat this song, its still very sad... If you analyze the lyrics it's how someone who found someone that truly accepts him as he is - hence "can i use some of your lipstick" - yet in the end she leaves him blaming infatuation and imagination, that he is not the one... And that the tiny book of butterflies became the tiny book of goodbyes... Despite being less dark than most of what has been produced by the cure, this is still very well written...

Haha..all my life..this is always the most argued over Cure album. Most die hard Cure fans don't like...because of the more upbeat lyrics and tempo.

I love em all....but I do love this one more..and I'm a die hard fan.

However, I do realize it has much more to do with personal experiences during the time of this album. But whatever, is it wrong to be brought to a happy place when listening to The Cure.....probably. But I don't much care for what you think.
