  • idc if this car is British... this car is the best car ever designed.

  • this thing is awesome it would probably keep up with a veyron on 0 to 60 depends whos driving the veryron but still fot the 80,s this thing was advanced

  • the easiest way to tell a british ford and an american ford apart is: if it has a big 4l v8 with 400+ bhp, its american, if its a little 2.5 4cylinder with 400+bhp, its british

  • cosworth is british, so is the rs200, but the gt40 and evo??, realy what sort of idiot would think they are british, the only thing british about the gt40 is that it was assembled, and had a tiny bit of engineering done to it by the british, but the americans deserve credit where credit is due they build a good car, same with the evo, all we have done to them is tune them to the EU motorway regulations

  • What an insane car, how the hell is this thing street legal :D

  • Germany is the best of making cars with quality and Italy best with design.

some of my favourite carbrands is Audi,BMW, Lancia, Ford, Ferarri and porsche.

  • that was so cool when the guy was talking to him for 30 seconds. A 3 second 0-60 takes 42 seconds of play time. Edit your videos.

  • imagine with a sequential gearbox. cut those shift times in half, and more power to the ground period.

  • this rs200 couldnt beat the norris evo, and he was trying all day and also starting behind the starting line cheating cunt

i know i was there so fuck off

  • That is one of the best fords ever made. Number 2 in my book GT40 is better but when it come to rally the RS200 is where its at.

  • Boy, look at that...

  • Who gives a shit...it seems that many people go around on youtube and just pick fights, those are the 10-24 year olds that live a their mom's house.

  • @chair5432 you included eya ;)

  • In British Ford Department and not all GTs :) but I think that doesn't matter it is more important company name is written on the hood :))

  • Group B, nuff said :)

  • cos everything is obese in america they cant think small engine small car lots of power if it aint under 5L displacement it not big enough for the yanks

  • God i love this car, 8000 miles at full throttle before an entire engine rebuild, you gotta love it.

  • Why do brits always take responsibility for cars that arent theirs? I mean top gear said the new mini coopers and the mitsubishi evo are british, PseudoScienceb20 says the Escort Cosworth, RS200, and GT40 are all british. I mean just because a few brits were involved in the engineering doesn't mean the car is british. The minis are german, the evo is japanese, and the other three are american.

  • @JSnyder49428 on the RS200, "The cars were built on behalf of Ford by another company well known for its expertise in producing fibreglass bodies - Reliant" Reliant being a British company, The chassis was designed by Tony Southgate who is British, and it had a British cosworth engine... id say that pritty british car

  • @soarer205 regardless, if it says ford on it, i consider it american. i could even support my statement with the whole "america is a melting pot" so it doesnt matter who was involved argument, but frankly that sounds to me like an argument a 5th grader would make.

  • @JSnyder49428 and cosworth is based a cpl of miles up the road from me.. my son works there and i'm defo living in England!

  • @JSnyder49428 "What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this comment thread is now dumber for having read it,, "

european ford is the most English thing in automotive history; especially when it comes to RSs

  • @mrpunisher123451 wow, someone really needs a nap. very old comment by the way, do you just spend your life going through all the old comment on youtube trying to start another month long fight (as if youtube needs another one of those) well go ahead, let the hate out, Ill take it but I'm not going to take part.

  • @soarer205 bang on the money mate ;)

  • @soarer205 - RIght apart from the bit about the Cosworth engine. It ran an 1800 BDT not a 2 litre YB

  • @soarer205 Reliant, from the infamous 3 wheeler?

  • @JSnyder49428 ..........aaaannd you are jealous. Haha!!!

  • @JSnyder49428 actually take a look at who designs the components, who the engineers are and where the technical bods live (not where there produced) Wont mention Boreham lol...

  • @JSnyder49428

WELL, the main thing is ford of America and ford of England are two very differnt things. One of them is utter SHITE and one of them [and their english designers, engineers and general workers] is responsible for the best cars in automotive history. Some of the biggest advancements, and pioneering the things you take for granted in todays shitty cars. There is no good American car for you to enjoy, but you cant go around pretending ford RS is anything to do with America.

  • @Rsspecial1 Now just a minute, American Ford and British Ford are very different, but not because one makes good cars and one makes bad cars. American Ford is a business, run by businessmen, and its the most successful automotive business in history, british ford not so much, good cars yes, but its all about the cars, not the people who buy them. both are successful in their own ways.

  • @JSnyder49428

English ford covers the whole of europe. In England, ford were the best selling make of car for i dont know how many years. Overall, ford england have made more good cars than any other brand. They've won more races in motorsport, hole the records, changed the rules of WRC rallying and touring car racing. The ford RS200 ruled autocross. No other cars have changed motorsport rules because they were TOO good. English ford is the best car maker in the world. For more reasons than 1

  • @Rsspecial1 SHUT UP you silly pikie cunt

  • @SpecialAndNotDumb

Hahahahaha, learn to spell the word pikey you uneducated caravan cunt. What car do you drive, a ride on lawnmower? What a stupid, childish comment to make, "shut up you pikey" - im not a pikey and i am right, so maybe you should shut up. You moron.

  • @Rsspecial1 SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU STUPID PIKEY CUNT , Is that better ? like I really care , But since we are on the give each other advice youtube mentality , Here is my advice , See a dentist you buck toothed cunt , get with the times and get a real haircut and lastly learn to speak english you limie piece of shit cunt , You british cocksuckers are a fucking disgrace , call yourself English and you fuckers cant even speak the English language , now fuck off you are boring

  • @SpecialAndNotDumb

If you dont like it, you can stop speaking our langauge before we decapitate you, and you can tell the rest of youre patheticlly ignorant, moronic overweight idiots in your shit hole of a country to aswell.

Ive got short hair, teeth that'll bite through your flesh and being english makes me a more important human being than YOU. Havnt you realised America gets mocked by the whole world. You and your country are a lost cause. Hahahahaha. You absolute idiot - you really are

  • @SpecialAndNotDumb You are a cunt and everyone agrees , and what makes it worse is you are a " PIKEY CUNT "

  • RS200!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this car performs well, but it doesnt look classy.

  • @bubbleyumpops this car is all performance.

it was designed to dominate rally and nothing more.

  • The rally B version which seems to be this one if its not the roadgoing version with decals on. makes 0-60 in about 2.2 sekonds.

    Weight: 1140kg

Im more sure of the other group b cars but im pretty shure that this car has 500-540hp

  • only problem is you need a new engine on these thigs like every 3 times you push it

  • @johnnygold23 Why do you need a new engine after 3 runs with these?Do you run it without oil?My brother has as RS200 evo ex. group B and this engine survives every year with 728hk and 888Nm.

  • @vidaler2134 mine needed a new engine after 3 runs so it might just be me, 750hp 893ft/lbs

  • @johnnygold23 i got a question what goes out i mean like a whole engine or just some parts???

  • @H1shman idk like i said mine was used alot before i used it and after 3 runs the whole engine was shot and i saw a video for these and they said you only get like 6hours at full throttle then its gone

  • gotta love the RS200 Group B rally monster : BRING BACK GROUP B!!!!!!!

  • lovely.

  • yeah but if u think about it everyone says that the veyron is all this but look what happened when top gear tested it around the track it was crap and it got beaten by a £28000 pound car which was british. i bet if you put a ford rs200 up against a veyron the rs200 would win everytime

  • You know guys, some of you may think: omg dude relax it's just a tiny ford. Well look it's not just "a ford". No car in the world can beat this car. The standard version goes about 2.8 seconds from 0 - 100 kph. That was the fastest in the world (was in guines book). The only car (stock) which can break that is the bugatti veyron with a 2.5 seconds. But this rally version does it in 2.3 seconds to 100 kph. So don't even try to say a bad word about this wonder car

  • @xMrAngelZx :

It would prob beat a veyron with the right driver, and since almost any "joe" with money can take a bugatti to 407KPH it would prob win. The Rs looks like you need some serious skill to max it and get to 100kph in 2.3.

  • @xMrAngelZx :

And as the description says the driver took 3.0 sec. The Veyron nails 2.5 EVERY Time.

  • @ rubiks 15

You know that the pikes peak version of the Rs200 accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in 1.7 seconds. And i guess that no rookies are not going to drive cars like this , so your statement about skills isn't really true

  • I'm not going to act like I know everything about this car so here are some questions (if you can answer them truly)

    1. what are the top speeds for the different models?2. Is it in current production?

  • And this video clearly shows that some rookies do drive it because it took this person 3.0 seconds to reach 60. And in the end IF it could beat the Veyron, which would you own. A suitable, well engineered road car with stereo, leather, quit at speed and the finnest detail or a very fast rally car? I have nothing against the RS200, but im just saying.....

  • @rubiks15 id have the rally car

  • ehm not 200kgs moore than audi quattro s1, the s1 has a wieght in about 1100kg and the peugeot 205 t16 about 850,900kgs, i dont think tha rs200 had a weight of 1300,not the rallyversion, it was about as much as the quattro

  • I know the 2 guys who built and developed the first of these, there is one in the garage that belongs to them and it looks and sounds the nuts!!! 2wd to 4wd at flat out speeds, cant remember what boost it will run but its awesome!

  • 80,00 hahaha!! ur funny..some are worth 120,000!

  • looks like a nody car...

  • I've seen this car in action, its an animal ! :D

  • thought i would not mind one of these in my garage until i saw they were still fetching £80,000.

  • metro 6r4 can still be rallyed these days

  • morons you enter group b racing you had to produce a minimum no of cars ie the rs 200 , it was only banned because it was 2 quick and advaned for its time , even ferrari now cant even get the benefits from the engine which they use in all there formula 1 cars , sorry technology

  • 1.8 LITRE

  • Umm no? It wasn't banned at all. Group B got cancelled because of all the accidents and deaths.

  • Basically the cancelling was a banning because of a few portugeuse that were standing in the middle of the bloody track like retards I think they were acceptable loses Bring back Group b

  • @GazzaMogs

Yes in 1987 Group B was Banned not cancelled because of all the deaths.

  • @USEDBEPROUDOFENGLAND no grp b rallying was band because of the amount of fatal crashes! the last crash was an rs200 and it killed 30 spectators or so. I love the car to bits, i love old fast fords in general, in my opinioun the last prpa fast ford was the es coz t34, but none of the grp b rally cars were to advanced. the engines were, but thats about it. if youv ever known someone whos owned or driven "iv got one myself" come back soon lol. will tell you its hard to drive and quite disapointing

  • @Greenwood4365 quite alot of turbo lag, but thats any high powered turbo car from the 80's

  • @coalandnuclear obviously mate but this is will ormes rs200, its not a standard rally setup, i think iv read it has a weber anti lag kit on

  • sigh... here in Canada the cars just aren't as good :( It's all just useless trucks that can't even go off road. At least Canada has less strict road regulations than in the UK. although i guess there still are some good cars here though... (I'm the proud owner of an 81 rocco :D)

  • Why have all the best Ford cars been British? Escort Cosworth, RS200, GT40. The best American Ford, the Shelby Mustang Cobra, is very good, but never as good as these three.

  • Because british engineers are outstanding. Look at what they did to the Misubishi Evo with the FQ400.

  • @ZachSwan3 the FQ is still of Japanese design but the European laws allow engineers to do more with less

  • @ZachSwan3 its really not that impressive.... it gets like 2 mpg

  • @laxkid54 So youd rather watch hybrid drag race?

  • @KCWhoa no... you can easily tune a sti or evo with aftermarket parts and actually retain some fuel mileage

  • I think the sierra cosworth deserves a mention

  • The Ford GT and the GTX1. Don't forget those :)

    They are American btw.

  • Ford outsourced engineering to Lotus, Lola, and Cooper in the 1960's. All three are British. Broadley, Lunn and Wyer began working on the new car at Lola Factory in Bromley. At the end of 1963 the team moved to Slough, England near Heathrow airport. Ford established a new subsidiary under the direction of Wyer, Ford Advanced Vehicles Ltd to manage the project. The first chassis built by Abbey Panels of Coventry was delivered on March 16, 1963. The first Ford GT the GT/101 was unveiled in England

  • It's British Engineering with American money.

  • The GT and the GTX1? Those were worked on by Saleen and SVT.

Now the GT40 I'm not sure about.

  • But hey Ford is Ford rather if it's American, Australian, or British. I love em all.

  • Yeah, which basically makes it British.

  • @PseudoScienceb20 your forgetting mk1 escoss and mk2 and the mk3 RS turbo and sierra cossie saph and RS500 there all legend cars

  • @PseudoScienceb20 i think for one is that the US has had one to many restricons

  • @PseudoScienceb20 Escort cosworth is germany car :P

  • @PseudoScienceb20 the man speaks nothing but truths!

  • @PseudoScienceb20 because Americans are cheap about their cars

  • @fastcommodore

yeah we are. i guess we prefer a cheaper car so we have money for the dentist. hahaha

  • @PseudoScienceb20 But the GT40 wasn't British. It was assembled in and somewhat engineered Britain but that doesn't make it British.

  • @thekkl It was more British than it was American mate

  • @soarer205 How was it British at all? What, other then the fact that it was assembled in Britain can even link it to the British?

  • @PseudoScienceb20 respect to you sir!!

  • @PseudoScienceb20 the Ford that actually won at Le Mans was American.

  • @PseudoScienceb20 what about the escort mkII

  • @PseudoScienceb20 ya but you have to understand its all about sales.. Ford does the right thing by not bringing these cars north america because they wouldnt sell. America wants muscle cars.. big supercharged v8s.. not little 2.0ltr engines. I would love to have a cosworth.. nice cheap little car. that might have been the only one to sell here. but come on.. america wants their 400hp+ cobra. Who wouldnt.. i almost shit my pants when my buddy floored it. he made 500hp easy on that engine.

  • @mmdaniels33 i've seen a escort cosworth on a german trackday with 500+ bhp with the 2.5l enginei would think that a charged v8 would make more horsepower than that

  • @dukeboyII It would.. lol whats your point? That has nothing to do with what i was talking about. Americans want loud, grumbling, torquey v8s. Not high revving screamin 4 cylinders.

  • @PseudoScienceb20

    And australia. The Falcon.

  • @PseudoScienceb20 The Ford GT

  • I wish I owned a RS200, what a crazy speed!

  • yea and theres only 2 left.... :(

  • The RS200 never had a twincharger or a twinturbo system. It is powered by a BDT turbo engine based on the older BDA known from the older Escort RS1600s and 1800s, which itself is based around a Kent block and a twin cam Cosworth head. The BDT was to be first used in a Group B Escort RS1700T, and after that project was deemed a failure it was transferred to the wonderful but heavy RS200 chassis. From the conceptual point of view the RS200 was a masterpiece, but it was too heavy to be competitive.

  • heavy?

  • yes heavy, they weighed like nearly 200kgs more than T16 and Sport Quattros S1.

  • heavy :S he holds record time from 0-60 in just over 2 sec on gravel (2,2 or 2,1) maybe in corners but straight line.....xD nooop

  • we wanna see picss!

  • i bet eh doesnt sayign as only 20 were eevr made and tehy went into racing.........the other 180 cars made were no evo versions.......just normal rs 200's

  • the group B *original* RS200 known properly as a Ford rs200 EVO....

What the evo is about i don`t know... all i know is it`s the 650bhp monster

  • far as i know the evo is the version that ford was planning to launch in the '87 group B season, but since its been banned, ford only made about a dozen of the evo's and these were used in rallycross mainly.

  • No your perfectly correct. But you forgot to mention that the supercharger is less effecient at max speed (high revs)

Because it`s belt driven when you reach high rpm`s the belt slips and becomes less efficient where a turbo is more efficient.

  • supercharged & turbocharged sounds pretty logical really. supercharger would get car rolling faster, turbo would kick after it's lag, then the supercharger would create more excess power for the turbocharger to work with? any1 correct me that's just my thinking but then again, im not even old enough to have a licence :D

does this run on a cosworth engine then? ive never looked into the RS200 before but 0 - 60 in 3 secs? thats fantastic 4 a car it's age

  • Posh Cortina!

    Yeah yeah, I'm jealous!!

  • one of the fastest cars on the planet

  • the RS200's were made for the group B rally and made 650 bhp with twin turbos. but here is the catch, having that much horse power out of such a small engine caused the engines to blow after about 10 hours of use, thats why the full power models were used only for racing. after their class was banned, the cars were given less powerful (about 250 bhp) engines and sold to the public

  • nice reply comment, i rather enjoyed reading all the useful information. What i meant when i had put that comment up is that i would be really unlikely that he had both, i have seen cobra mustangs with both, but it takes an enormous amount of time to tune and fabrication to get everything to fit and run smoothly. Ima see if i look up some of the cars you mentioned as i've never heard of them

  • WOW the sound!!!! the evo is unbelievable!

  • sorry but I think this is no evo but escort rs2k man :))

  • really? I didn't know exactly, but it's still crazy that speed!

  • Not an Evo. Not an Escort.

    Ford RS200...Legendary Rally Car!

  • your both right its an rs200 evo,

  • ok its very fast...granted ! But this machine is out of its element on a runway or dragstrip.

It can do exactly the same on forest lanes and dirt tracks. Now that takes a brave man....

I use to use a lotus sunbeam from time to time and that was purrlenty quick enough for me! (165BHP/RWD)

cant imagine what upto 5/600BHP must be like on backlanes...no wonder GpB got banned!

  • lol blokjekaases comment is minted lol

  • yup definatly 3.2

  • a mclaren f1 can only do it in 3.2 seconds

  • Nope... 2.3 seconds rookie...

  • Twit. It's just over three.

  • I had a f-250 460 Superchanged with tubo 0-60 3.32 seconds... That truck was to fast!!

  • yeah, you would probably cum in 3,2 seconds when A girl looked at you on youre primairy school

  • LOL you pussy...

  • probably the only one that will ever talk to you!

  • so you had a turbo and a supercharger , granted its possible very unlikely your either lying or dont know shit

  • but a few cars have had both , nissan built the micra(march) super turbo wich ran in the 1000cc class as an 850cc, lancia ran the delta s4 which had a supercharger and a turbo, working together to give one of the best rally cars of the post group b era, all you need is an ecu capable of controling the spersharger and the turbo wastegate, there are loads out there on the market that can do it, it allows you to run a big turbo without the subsequent lag as the supercharger gives you the initial go

  • an inside view looking at the speedometer would be the best view IMO

  • Swweeet I just looked the car up. I love two door cars. Never knew this one existed.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_RS200

Ooh btw, if you see that thing often, a front shot of it accelerating would probably get good ratings.

  • Unless I'm mistaken, that's not an RS200... that's an RS200 Evolution - the souped-up rally version. One specimen of that car's been from 0-60 in 2.1 seconds - a real beast.

As far as I know, only a handful still exist - most were dismantled after the ending of group-b rally back in 1986, and I think only two dozen of the 200 RS200s made were ever brought to Evolution spec in the first place.

Watch for used car sales though... I think I've seen one go to market already - for $350,000

  • your right it is an evolution only difference bein engine size an power, all remainin rs200s even the rally ones were retrimmed to road spec so ford could recoup some of its losses, this particular one belongs to will orm an i have witnessed it doin sub 3 sec passes a few times, wot a car
