  • Keep up with the grate job!

  • @NicoloLombardi

    Thanks.

We want to know more about your case with the 24-105 f/4L IS.

    Let us know please

  • Version 2.0.7 has just been release and this issue has been fixed!

  • @beefyson

Yes, we know, we published an article at our Blog last night:

    5dmark2 . wordpress . com

Check some comments from readers there...

  • When this happens during a recording, do you notice 3 'frozen' or 'dropped' frames??

  • @mtwa48

    Hi, please check our:

    Canon 5D Mark II - Firmware 2.0.4 Bug / Malfunction - IRIS issue - VIDEO 1

Despite it's not recording video,it's in the proper LV mode (same is if we were recording) and shows what it's usually seen when changing focus and the IRIS jitter occurs.

You can also check our Blog post: "Malfunction in Firmware 2.0.4 UPDATE" with additional videos (one made with a Sigma 150mm Macro).

Check our Blog post "List of Lenses Affected - UPDATE 3" too.

    Cheers

  • @5D2Team

    Thanks for the info.

I have read the thread and understand what you guys are experiencing. My problem however, is a 3 frame freeze, at random, when panning. Focus is not being changed when it occurs for me. Perhaps mine is a completely different issue than this, sorry for the confusion

  • Have they fixed it yet. I haven't up graded to the .4 yet. Should I?

  • @global001

Hi, Canon still didn't fix it.

FW 2.0.4 gives you STANDARD 30p (29.97fps), 24p (23.98fps) & 25p, and Manual Audio gain. So if you need any of those features, yes, it's really worth the upgrade

BUT if you need to use any lens affected by IRIS jitter for video purpose, then you might want to wait,or try 2.0.4 and get back to 1.1.0 if you don't like it AND IF you still have the 1.1.0 .FIR file

Check our Blog and the LIST of LENSES AFFECTED: bit . ly / aDXtn6

    Best regards

  • Sorry for the deleted comments below, had an issue with YouTube and the internet browser...

  • Does it do this with the 2.0.3 upgrade too or just the 2.0.4? If not, why go with the .4 upgrade?

  • @producerjohn

    Hi,

    - Canon removed 2.0.3 from web because it had an issue related to audio settings that could prevent recording audio in C1/C2/C3 modes, as we also reported right after its official release

    - Since Canon fixed it in around 1 day after being aware, and we reported the IRIS jitter issue few weeks later the release of 2.0.4, we're almost sure 2.0.3 also suffers iris jitter

    - UPDATED REPORT and LIST of Lenses Affected at our BLOG: 5dmark2 . wordpress . com

    Cheers

  • DAMN canon really did it! with the firmware 2.0.4 transforms your camera into a fuctional eye...the iris response to the light :P

    coming soon robot apocalypse

  • @ANTRASPS3

well, in fact the "iris jitter" is not related to changes of light, it also happens in a dark room, we did run a test to confirm it (you can hear the iris jitter lot of times).

Of course that test can also be done with the lens cap on.

Robots are still far away :)

  • How bizarre!

  • Also experienced this issue, with a 90mm tamron macro lens.
