I have had a chance to wear one of these helmets. I was left in awe. Not very often I am excited about a product, this is awesome. Great helmet all by itself, and the new rearview optics are a very welcome add on to the motorcycle helmet. Just an awesome product....
Yes, The System helmet is off the drawing board and in pre production phase. If you send us an e mail at reevu web site we will let you know as soon as the helmets become available.
The helmet is just being lauched into North America with DOT approval. e mail Reevu and they can give you the updates of who is stocking the helmet. The new Graphic Model is Black and White, For Safety and to be seen Black and White is better than Flat white. Also you can attach reflective stickers on the rear as they do in France or Brazil
E MAIL Reevu for your updates on the helmet. If you dont get a response keep trying looks like the man dont like this helmet as a lot of the Reevu traffic is going missing, KEEP TRYING
For further info go to the reevu.com site and e mail. If you dont get a reply keep trying as a lot of our e mails are spirited away, but we do get a few
@Bighen34 The helmets in UK are shown by a number of Agents if you e mail reevu on their web site they will put you in touch with some one who uses the helmet and they can show you the helmet. The DOT helmet is available at the end of this month. If you e mail reevu they will keep you on record and let you know where you can try
First DOT helmets will be ready end of April, so not long now, If you send e mail to Reevu on their main website they will keep your records on file ready to let you know.
Hi Sorry No retailers in North East. Or most parts of Europe.. The distribution groups are absolutely passed themselves as this helmet makes all of their stock obsolete. If you ring the UK office on 00 44 (0) 191 4187755 They will pass you on to local agents that are motorbike riders all over UK who use the helmet. They can organize a demo and helmet
@godamit27 If you are in North east a lot of bikers are using it in the area, you can either get one from the Washington office or contact reevu and they can point you to an Agent. Most retail cant stock them, as they make all of their stock obsolete
The great thing with this helmet is it will save your life without having to come off. Being able to see behind makes a massive difference to the riding experience.
I saw this Video and read up as much as I could and then took a punt and bought a Reevu. And after just a couple of rides I’m totally sold and could not praise this helmet enough.I am so impressed by the system,Yes its weird at first but after only half an hour of riding I only glanced at the mirror a couple of times as you get used to what is going on behind you using your peripheral vision rather than actually looking into it. I'll do a vid this wk/end to explain more,,Bikers..buy one!
Helmet comes in 3 shell sizes XS M and L. We are hoping to add a XXL shell for the outsize head size that will incorporate XXXXL.liners for Dutch German and a lot of USA outsize heads. We hope to make sure that everyone can participate in this amazing invention
@Rainb0wSeven As was expected Demand for the Reevu helmet is high all over the world. Due to local customs and standards institiutions. The helmet will overcome all of these blocks to markets, however this takes time so that Reevu can deliver this life saving development in some territories.
I spoke to Reevu a few months ago and they said the only reason it wasn't on sale here yet is that ONE bolt was ONE millimetre too long, so it couldn't pass ADR.
Well just shows you that the test house in Australia don't want Australian people to be safe on the road, Typical jobs worths that will do anything to stop new innovation. Or I wonder if they are getting a bung from other helmet manufacturers?
I'm sure it can. I just wish they'd hurry up and get it up to Australian standards. - I've been putting off buying a new helmet for more than a year because I've been waiting for the Reevu!
@i3in4ry42 Helmet will be available in USA some time in 2011. I have spoken to the Reevu guys and they will let everyone in US who have contacted them know where to try. in 2011. Keep trying to contact Reevu through their web site at Reevu. e mails can go missing getting too them so keep trying
@calirapqueen You can see the optic system at Web bike world video.
If you look at the Reevu face book page the helmet has already saved riders lives and not after having a crash. This is the future and makes all other helmets ordinary. Showing the REARVISION system does not show what its like riding on your bike, That is the only way to try the helmet.

@cumonyaface14 This is helmet that has to be used to know how it works Its like trying to tell a Cage driver what the buzz is from riding a bike, They usually think we are mental, Well guess what when you can spy the cops before they see us with this helmet gives me the sense of FREEDOM
@jlira01 The helmet has already saved lives by giving rearview information to the wearer. SNELL should look into this as they are really in the business of saving lives. The helmet is great and should be looked at by all of the regulatory bodies. THIS helmet is about saving lives, as it gives you the opportunity of getting out of the way.,
@ Snell is the most respect charity for looking after the sportsman who needs too wear a helmet. I am sure they will accredit this for the great safety feature that it has.
@jlira01 I think you will have to Ask Snell. The helmet is ACU gold accredited here they are the racing body in the UK. Also the helmet is ECE 22.05 and INMETRO for the South American countries. I would think that all of the accrediting bodies will want to accredit safer helmets.
Anywho, I was just searching online to see if they were selling a road bicycle helmet version and I saw this video. Figured I'd try to say thanks for keeping my head in one piece and my hit-and-run incident had nothing to do with rear-visability which on the whole was excellent.
While it isn't DOT approved yet (they've been talking about it getting DOT approved for years) the US isn't the only country with decent regulations and in my accident it worked beautifully.
@snappca The helmet you had was the early version. The new helmet is a better fit and fully adjustable optic part. The helmet has been designed to achieve all international standards. This New 2010 version only came out in Dec 09 Jan 2010. If you check out the Web bike world video. Also this helmet retails for around 249 euro which is about 310 US dollars. Half the price of the first helmet that sold for 500 euro
@MrMarkanthony10 That's great news. Obviously the older model that I had was a bit pricey, but I certainly appreciated the functionality of it and didn't mind the expense. If this new model is actually less expensive, so much the better! Make sure to get the word out when DOT approval occurs, I had plenty of people ask about the helmet since they had not seen one before but were turned off by the lack of DOT. Best of luck and thanks for pushing the envelope with a unique technology.
A negative was when it got very cold (think 30's or lower) it'd fog up when you first put it on and take a bit before it cleared out.
A positive was when I was riding at 50mph and a truck turned in front of my '02 VTX the first thing I remember after going down and hitting the truck was thinking "this isn't so bad" as my head was bouncing along the pavement. The helmet did its job and all that was obvious was a bunch of black was scraped off the jaw section (and I needed a plate in my wrist).
I live in Virginia and purchased mine in March of '06 from motowebshop. I will say that I REALLY loved the helmet and felt nervous when I rode without it as I had gotten used to always being able to glance up and see what was behind me. Personally this was pretty natural and I was surprised when my brother complained about having to shift the helmet around to get it into initial position. I just don't think the few minutes he had was enough for him to see the value.
@MrMarkanthony10 Awesome. I've shown this vid to a lot of US bikers and we're all very excited about the prospect of having it here. I'll be looking for a new helmet next year, and if this is on the market by then it will be on my short-list.
@MrMarkanthony10 Thanks, I'm US based so I'll wait until they're being sold here officially. Also, I don't need a helmet at the moment, as I don't have a bike, but I'm definitely keeping my eye on Reevu
Every time you look up to see the road infront of you you can see what is going on behind. When on the track this is a great advantage when you go into the corner as you can take a quick look as to who is coming up on your inside or outside, Gives you a chance to shut the gate. Very intereting
I saw the original (fixed optic) at a bike show a few years back, they said it was a prototype to get market feedback, also said the adjustable one was in developement. So as soon as it came out they e-mailed me, a week later I was wearing it. The adjustable one is much better for us tank huggers... just wish the weather would clear up so I can get the bike out.
OMG!! Got mine last week (Inverness, Scotland) and what a difference. Had a nasty spill on my bike 2 years ago, some knacker playing with his mobile ran straight through the back of me, at least with this I could have flashed my brake lights at his to wake him up. Put it this way my girlfriends kitten sleeps in my Arai GT Viper cos that's all it's good for now!
The shields have anti fog coating. you will find though the air flow through the optic channel takes a lot more air up from the front vent in front of your face helping to clear any mist. I see you are a petrol head, can you imagine this lid for carting, i dont think these guys realize what they have here.
What happens if the sun is low in the sky directly behind me, will the 'rear view mirror' dazzle me with the reflection ? You mention in the video about cars' headlights dazzling but I didn't really understand the answer that the light is diffused.
If the light is diffused then how can there be a clear, accurate image in normal conditions ?
The optic system has a filter that filters brighter light. not as much natural light. If the Sun is too bright from behind it reacts with the filter. The best thing is to get the lid or speak to someone with one They will explain how great the system is. You have to try it, I know its a bit of sickner for those who have just purchased another helmet without the rearview option. I would also be bit sick about that
Thanks, I've had a good look around the internet and praise seems to be universal. I'll definitely seriously consider getting one when the time comes.
i cannot see how! I have the latest helmet featured here and was one of the first to order - it only became available 6 weeks ago! It is simply amazing and after just one journey using this helmet my $500 shoei went straight on ebay. Speak to the guys at reevu com - you will not be disappointed, it is unique.
When ever you are riding you have to keep your eye level with the road. If your eye is in line with the road then you can see through the system to the rear. You have to try the helmet then you will see how it works. I can tell you this, with any other helmet what you can see is nothing.
Did he explain you can see behind with this helmet on. It has a optic system built into the helmet to give you that rearview of anything coming up behind.
I have had a chance to wear one of these helmets. I was left in awe. Not very often I am excited about a product, this is awesome. Great helmet all by itself, and the new rearview optics are a very welcome add on to the motorcycle helmet. Just an awesome product....

How does it do in transitions from lay down to sit up positions on a bike?

When ever you are riding you have to keep your eye level with the road. If your eye is in line with the road then you can see through the system to the rear. You have to try the helmet then you will see how it works. I can tell you this, with any other helmet what you can see is nothing.

Did he explain you can see behind with this helmet on. It has a optic system built into the helmet to give you that rearview of anything coming up behind.
