  • 420 are the engine hp ,, 338 are the pure hp on wheels

  • 338hp? are you kidding me? the car has 420hp not 338!

  • These figures are at the wheels. I believe the R8 is AWD, so you need to account for about 20-25% powertrain loss. 420 x 0.75 = 315HP. So yes its about right. my BMW it rated at 300HP at the factory ( crank ) since its RWD do 20% of loss 300 x 0.80 = 240, but bmw underrated it, so it gets around 250-260 at dyno tests.

  • Pretty weak for such a beast of a V8.

  • something is wrong the rs4 got the same result

  • @MrSnoopy001

Because the engine in the r8 is the same of the rs4

  • A non turbo 350z would smoke that piece of shit

  • @Derail07 pmsl you recon do ya lol :P

    A 350z has 287hp.....0-60 in 5.6 secs, and has a top speed of 156mph

An R8 has 420hp....0-60 in 4.4 secs and a top speed of 187mph.....durgh muppet!!

  • z4 in the intro is better ;) jaja

  • must be the v8... 338?? id rather buy an STI and save 80 thousand dollars LOL

  • @sherv1739 But see how much the STI gets to it's wheels then

  • Still, 338hp at the wheels with that weight, it doesnt compare to a car thats 3 times heavier with a 500+ hp engine

  • im sorry 338 at the WHEELS??!!! a 2011 mustang gt 5.0 puts down 395 at the wheels?? this is a nice car but what happend??

  • @USFCARTWRIGHT maybe the car is a couple of years old, or the dyno is wrong.

  • GT-R is ugly. R8 is pretty much best looking car out there.

  • weak...my my ss puts out more than that thing and it costs a third of what that costs

  • Had the fortune to drive one of these on the track, the same day as I drove an Aston DBS and a Lamborghini Murcielago. Out of the 3, the R8 was my favourite by a long way just as a drivers car. The Lambo had the 'theater' and shocking acceleration, the DBS was disappointing but beautiful to look at, and the R8 just put an enormous smile on my face. Quick, confidence inspiring, sounded phenomenal... what I wouldn't give to own one some day!

  • yeah but who wants a civic?..

  • @jandywa me, a type R please

  • @jandywa Why wouldn't someone want a civic?

  • @jogga123 Cos their shit.

  • @jandywa

I think your last name is HONDA

  • @samadoooo1 Funny guy...

  • 300's on the hp to go with awd for a quick launch. not a drag car but its still fast and fast around turns

  • @XclassicXrokerX GT-R's faster :)

  • @aadin gotta say audi looks better but gt r performs better

  • sloooooooooooooooooooooow

    but a very nice car

  • not verry impresive numbers ....

  • does the wing come up automaticly when you get going really fast?

  • @ggghockey Yes

  • @ggghockey yes

  • thats got some brakes lol...

  • yes people forget it is the same engine as the rs4 420hp

  • same engine as RS4

  • haha same digital instruments as my jetta. the r8 is a super volkswagen

  • Comment removed

  • back to what nirvin said i have a 4 cyl that beats many v8's its not that uncommon with the correct mods and if you can drive...plus if you have a fi car against a v8 on the highway a lot of them loose because of the v8's torque jump if you brake boost and keep it spooled that wont happen

  • this is kinda wrong the audi is awd on a rear wheel dyno. it has up to a third of its power transfered to the front wheels when execlerating. so in all its got around 400 +

  • how come it dosnt change gears it just goes all the way

  • cause speed doesn't measure hp or torque, the way it works is they just rev to redline to cause the car produces max hp at around 5000 rpm or more, it dos'nt have to be fast,

  • yeah but almost everything about that car is deisgned to make it stick to the road/handle better and be lighter not just the engine. it probally doesnt shake at 90mph like your civic either.

  • don't think that automatic adjustable spoiler is necessary for a car with only 338 hp.. kinda useless i think...

  • i concur

  • it is useless. but it makes the car look a shitload tighterr.

  • No it doesn't. An R8 is rated at 420 hp. How could it have double 338?

  • The Quattro system in the R8 put a higher amount of power to the back wheels, its not a 50/50 split between front and back wheels

  • They put an AWD car on a RWD dyno? I say Hoax.

  • Wow thats sad to spend 100+ grand that would be a huge disappointent.

  • ur spending a 100+grand becasue that person does not care about speed, he cares about brand name and showing off his class.

  • wow thats weak! My honda civic makes more whp than that!!! ill have to remember this next time i come to a light with one of these! I though these were supposed to make alot more power than that!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • yeah

    a 4 straight cilynder engine beating a V8

    great dude

    riced car i presume

  • you wont race my audi a4

  • damn that's pretty weak, my Challenger can push more than that

  • 338 hp????????????????

  • 338 hp????????????????

  • What does it actually do to the car when you rev the car to the point where the needle dips into the red zone? isnt this bad or is it ok for short periods of time?

  • Depends on the car and what work, if any, is done to the motor. I have a 12A Rotary, which revs up to around 10 Grand but the factory Instrument Cluster only goes to 8
