You realise comparing these two bikes is pointless right. Now had you taken a 748 Ducati and a CBR600RR it would have been more of a Race. This only proves how good the Ducati monter is. If you wanted to race the Duc against something in its on class by honda then I would suggest the CBF600 or 1000. The Duc is in the Class with Hondas CBF Suzukis GSF Bandits and Kawasaki Z750 and 1000.

I can't believe anyone would say Ducati is crap. Yes Honda makes a great bike but that doesn't mean its the only good manufacturer. But this is a cafe style bike and a sport bike. Every bike has its flaws. One might be faster but the other might be more reliable. I've ridden Honda Yamaha Suzuki and Ducati. They all have pro's and cons. Anyone saying that one is better than the other is a noob and probably hasn't had their ass in the seat.

By SBK you mean superBIKE, not superSPORT, right? Indeed the Ten Kate 600RR's are in no way dominant in the superBIKE class, whereas the ducati monster's nephew used to kick some Foggi ass back in the 90's.

I will try to update the wikipedia page about WSBK vs WSS, since their statements are clearly wrong. Or maybe you could do that, obviously being an authority on the subject??

@MegaTokkie that has not much to do with street bikes. That said, racing is not about going in straight line and people with half a brain knows Ducatis are awesome motorbikes (so are the hondas). In MotoGP, very small details can make lots of differences, this year Honda is ahead and it might be a different story in the years to come (Ducati was dominant in the past). Saying Ducati is crap or Honda is crap is really dumb and childish as saying my father is stronger than yours.

@noodlekilla1 Who won this Year the Superbike World Championship? I think it was Carlos Checa, and he won it whit a Ducati 1098 (on the pics it has a 1198 sticker on the bike). He almost dominated the whole season.

And by the way a CBR600RR is a streetracing bike, and a Monster S4 is a nakedbike, it's obvious that in straight line the CBR will be the faster because of the much better top speed, I also have an S4 for and the top speed of it is near 140mph/225kmh, and that's it, not more.

the dry clutch and torque of the vtwin ducati is better for taking off and turns, but the inline of the cbr produces more rpms thus giving it a faster speed after a certain speed

@RX7DVL thing with higher spec dukes is just that, their OE spec is hella higher than your jap litre/6'rs. so definately handling is a dream on a showroom spec duc, 0whereas its bland as feck on a jap bike. but their like anything italian rly, pretty enough n works well, for a while ;p n the torque is the difference ofcs in the engines, 4's are peaky, 2's are like a wet cat off the line.
