In the 12 years I've used linux, I've never had it crash into a reboot, never once had a virus, and currently notice it runs much faster than windows 7 could dream of...Just remember bud, I only have to reboot if I update the kernel, which is not that often :)

@Heaney5551 I can't argue about that. The only part that slow in my machine, is my harddisk. But, u forgot about "bug-free and BSOD". Windows still have many bugs to be found. I found some right now, can't tell u more details about it.. And, BSOD can be happened intermittently in different machine-specification.

And here's what they do. Windows may be for media or business. Yes, it will run faster than most IF you know how to take care of your computer. Macs are good for media, but way more limited than a Windows OS. Crashes on a Mac are also unidentifiable. Linux OS is very flexible and stable, but it can't use most popular programs. It is preferred for gaming or functionality of CERTAIN programs.

@psteveable lol Windows 7 is a resource hog? it only need 1gb of ram to work. XP sucks compared to Win7 fast search. Windows changing. You can find your files faster. Maybe it wasn't that windows 7 was a resource hog maybe your computer parts & hardware were too old to run the software of 7. U can use new stuff with old garbage. XP is super slow. Windows 7 is the best of all time, even better than windows 8.

OS X and Linux are both better than Windows. I'd even use iOS before that heap of shit made by Bill Gates. I use Windows 7, but your reasoning is flawed. You say that the place of search box is different on Windows 7. If Apple came up with the idea first, then it is obviously imitating the same technology. Changing the place does not mean that Microsoft did not get the idea from Apple. I don't know the difference between widgets and gadgets, but as I said before, if you come up with an idea and then someone does the same thing, then it is called imitation.

In the 12 years I've used linux, I've never had it crash into a reboot, never once had a virus, and currently notice it runs much faster than windows 7 could dream of...Just remember bud, I only have to reboot if I update the kernel, which is not that often :)

@Heaney5551 really, as someone that runs OS X, Windows 7 and numerous linux distros, I can say from a position of authority and experience that you don't know what the hell you're talking about. There is absolutely nothing Windows has over any OS, let alone OS X other than its obnoxious ubiquity amongst the IT world, the only bonus from that being that most games are developed for it natively. OS X is superior in every respect, whether it be for code dev or any form of productivity.

I found some right now, can't tell u more details about it.. And, BSOD can be happened intermittently in different machine-specification.

And here's what they do. Windows may be for media or business. Yes, it will run faster than most IF you know how to take care of your computer. Macs are good for media, but way more limited than a Windows OS. Crashes on a Mac are also unidentifiable. Linux OS is very flexible and stable, but it can't use most popular programs. It is preferred for gaming or functionality of CERTAIN programs.
I don't get why you all need to fight over what's best when they're made for specific functions.
