Andy Mckee is the only person in the world that can have this hair and i still want to look at him. For anyone watching this video who's thinking 'damn, my hairstyle isn't so bad, andy rocked it' please, go cut your hair.
Now thats out of the way. Its incredible that andy mckee has been THAT good at guitar for at the very least seven years. Endless respect for him, with or without a furry creature living on his scalp.
If there was no caption, I wouldn't have known it was Andy. I prefer him with short or no hair. You can tell he was good back then. Hope he doesn't show the bottom of his shoes to anymore in Muslim countries cause its a sign of disrespect. In one of the big U.S. cities, I can't remember which, there was a Asian-American comedian who was sitting during his routine and two visitors from a Muslim country somehow thought he was disrespecting them and killed him.
no man, my guitar can be tuned thats obvious! The thing is that the arm of my guitar cant be adjusted, so by playin art of motion im damagin my guitar, and I cant do nothing about it
I think you're saying Art of Motion is tuned so high that it puts strain on your guitar's neck. This can be fixed by downtuning the ARt of Motion tuning a step - ie instead of the 6th string being an F#, tune it to an E, and do that with all the other strings too. It's essentially the same tuning, just transposed a step lower.
@HandreyAlex Yes, Ebon Coast and Heather's Song are in "baritone tuning" but that is just standard tuning dropped a little lower. The definition of "baritone tuning" is flexible anyway. Some baritone guitars are in B (like Andy's), some are in A (even lower), and I've even seen some in D (only a step below standard E). Baritone is still standard - I was comparing it to open tunings, which Andy uses in the majority of his other songs.
@IdealogicalComplex In the original tuning the 6th string is stuped up 2 half steps, 4th string down a step, 3rd string up a step. So what Rael is saying is take the tuning from Art of Motion and tune it down a full step to reduce strain on the neck.
this song actuallly suits him here right now...with longhairs...n the stuff he is wearing..tht actual andy mckee... i suppose. whereas in the main video he is bald...n looked more tense....thts just my observation....
WoW I mean His voice makes sense now, calm gentle hippy guy with long flowing hair... not gruff need to go out and cut trees with my bold head and beard lol, still his new look is a good look, just this look does make sense for some reason,...oh yeah talk about music erm fair to say expectedly good? (as I've seen him playing before)
Common ground fucking rocks!!! I stole that chorus rift and integrated it into one of my songs. Everytime i hear that chorus i can not help but headbanging so hard that my neck hurts the next day.
fiddlnbanjo, I don't mean to sound like a 12-year-old child here, but these guys don't belong to any category that exists today. Until they touched the strings, the category they belong in didn't exist. It's called: Unbe-fucking-lievable.
hard to believe he's even better now =D the new way he plays it is better i rekon love this song! the new version's gunna be on his new EP out 25th August!
His appearance went through some extremes over the years. He looks like a hippie cult follower in this edition. Regardless, he's my favorite guitarist.
Last time I checked those were the view counts anyway. He's pretty internet famous, and anyone who knows any of the players from this show know Andy Mckee.
yeha i guess this is like a live performance but yeah there are some stupid videos out there that have millions more views than that videos about cats falling and shit lol but THIS is the guy who makes those cats drop music will tame the beast
The only thing that has changed from now in then is his hairstyle. The skill and musical voice are still as amazing as they were before, perhaps even more amazing!
humble beginnings? If this was a video of him messing up every other note and had a tuner out checking his strings then I'd say that lol!! This is past humble beginnings, that is when (talking about fingerstyle guitar) you find out about people like andy, ross, laughlin and study their videos not knowing really what you are doing but absorbing in every finger movement of it ;] This is the fruit he now reaps
at i think 3:07...he makes the cutest lil face...dude i would marry this guy just for composing the songs he has written...every song is perfect...i listen to him EVERYday.
