I'm doing my response if a few sections since the space only lets me put in 500 characters. Read them in order so it all makes sense:
1 - What nerve of that idiot coming from Mexico to lecture us on our policy when his own is way worse than ours and wouldnt dare do any of the things he wants us to do. Boy, we REALLY need to get those other idiots out of office.
2 - I'd vote for Tom McClintock and Jan Brewer DEFINATELY!!! Those other idiots need to be voted out BIG TIME. It's time for us to take our country back. i came to this great country LEGALLY in 1961 from Germany. I couldn't speak 3 words of English.
3 - I went to school, learned English, became a US citizen, got a great job with the US Army Corps of Engineers, was a Union President, was able to retire with a comfortable lifestyle with a great husband who served 26 years in the US Coast Guard. I also started my own business and am on the Board of a local historical society. This is all part of ASSIMILATION.
4 - Yes, I am still proud of my German heritage, but I don't expect America to bend over backwards to change everything to German ways. There are plenty of German heritage things to see and do, but it is not an integral part of everyday life in the US and I dont expect it to be, nor should anyone coming from any other country expect their culture to be. Why should this country do for people from other countries what those countries don't do for people from this country?
5 - That fact that people can come here, and more than likely do much better than they could in their original country, is amazing and we should be proud of this, but it doesnt mean that everything is just handed to those people. A helping hand is one thing, but people need to be responsible for themselves at some point and EARN their way.
6 - My advice for those that come here from other countries legally - Do what you like in your home, but dont expect others to buy into it just because you say so. If you miss it so badly, go back where you came from. If you want to change the way of life here to that of where you came from, just go back since you seem to think it was so much better there. Why the hell would you come here if you just want to change it to be the same as where you came from?

It doesn't matter. The line is the line. And legal is legal. If you are here legally, you still have an obligation to do your part to earn your keep. No one is entitled just by vertue of being born. I do not consider myself a German-American. I consider my self an AMERICAN - a US CITIZEN. I gave up my German citizenship when I took the oath to become a US citizen.
All the people who sneak across the border hate john and ken. I can't figure out why.
