Yes it can play 1080p when inhand but flash video uses much more power you would be lucky to watch a 720p flash video using this Atom N280

@a1be2 it is possible to change background on starter. just replace the default wallpaper file with the new one.

i play runescape. I was wondering if this is a good computer for that. I need to know if it will freeze up alot like my friends. My Friends gets someone loud and makes the game freeze. Is this computere good enough for that not to happen? Anyone please comment back. Thanks :)

this netbook kills any hp big time! i already had two hp netbooks and they had real poor performance. plus toshibas are awesome quality! the best there is on the market.

You sure don't have to...the upgrade is for an extra boost with larger images :)

Definitely stick with the toshiba. Get this one or the new NB300.

This toshiba "NB200" has N280 processor which is 30% faster than that in both HP models you mentioned.

The newer "NB300" has the new N450 which is by far the most advanced netbook processor. The most power efficient one as well.

Very nice video! I just got mine today and left it home. Your video made me feel better about the separation of something new and hardly used. The thing that sold me was the keyboard. I tried other keyboards and they felt too small. I don't hunt and peck. I touch type and the feel ot the board meant everything to me. Again.....I enjoyed the video very much and thanks for posting! This netbook will be a big hit for Toshiba.

What are the differences between 3 and 6 cell battery?

Tomorrow i'm going to buy one toshiba, and i don't know which one to buy. I like the 3 cell battery more because it's nicer than the 6 cell, but i want to know what are the differences plz.

3 cell = 24 whr

6 cell = 56 whr

Which means 6 cell battery is 2.3 times longer in life than 3 cell one

Meaning you would isa have about 5 hours of intensive use before your battery dies :)

Opps sorry to hear that but that's what "Windows 7 Starter" is all about :S

It's a crappy OS just like windows XP...although it's better but yet it is by far limited > try getting another OS for your machine or just upgrade your "Windows 7 Starter" edition to "Professional" edition

Just remove Samsung from list it's way lower in performance...

The Asus is almost identical with this Toshiba. One thing sets it apart though, it's cheaper and has a multi-touch trackpad.

So in my opinion get the bigger battery (6-cell) whatever that is.

Remember the Toshiba is 300grams lighter and more durable and ergonomic.

Hey, do you find that there is a bulge on the toshiba's keyboard, as in not completely flat? because when i got mine a couple of days ago my keyboard had a "bulge"... any advice ? :-S

you mean like in the keys or in the board beneath?

I have a bulge on the right hand side above power connector, which sets the keyboard (board) apart by 0.5mm apart from body.

It's no big deal, although I like every thing to be perfect. I got used to that bulge

yes its the board underneath, and in turn its pushing the keys up ever so slightly, but i guess as long as it is still durable its ok. yeah the bulge is also just above the power connector, but as you say not a big deal, overall build qualtiy is really good :-)

No it's not "Starter" it's "Ultimate RC" (Evaluation copy)

Right now I have "Windows 7 Professional"...and it works great for me

I don't know about "Starter" edition but I don't like it :S

Windows 7 works seamlessly on the netbook as this netbook's processor is powerful enough that it is equivalent to a Pentium 4

Since I got the netbook I take it with me to college all the time. It's a great to have mobile PC...

It sure does :D, with the scrolling and all other things...

Basically every hardware on this machine have it's own driver for win 7 provided by Toshiba. So make sure you get it from there instead of roaming around other sites.

The only thing that won't ever work is Fn keys F2, F4, F8 and F9. These buttons doesn't have a Bios definition so clicking them with Fn key mean nothing to computer :)

@ ahmed, you can simply use

"Unetbootin Windows 3.7.7.exe"

to burn the system .iso on a USB drive (flash disk)

When booting click F12, then choose the specific USB drive....Install win 7

It depends !!!

If you are using it normally just surfing the internet, it would speed standby whenever its applied

If you are using it heavily like I do, it would help you for example load photoshop files and editing audio and video projects faster

So its good in every aspect but its of high importance when the netbook is going to be used heavily :)
