@dcentc He did not play on Pretty Hate Machine. He was however on the Hate tour and was still around for the recording of Broken and the dates that followed after which he was replaced by Robin Fink (thank god).
lol funny she said one of the most original covers of the 90s kinda funny cuz a cover is another bands version of someone elses song lol ik she means the album cover jus thought it was kinda funny
To be honest they were really ahead of their time, I don't see how they even were considered to be in the same ballpark as 'grunge.' This kind of music just wasn't really done back then.
@Loxxikus Eh? They're excellent musicians, but, I personally wouldn't put them next to Filter, solely for the fact that NIN experimented more with production and equipment.
I always wondered why this song wasn't more popular than Hey man... Hey man is cool but it got overplayed. After I got the album I always skipped it.
I actually agree. The design grows on you. At first it seems a little off-putting, but as you look at it you see how subtle it is. I also like that the information is on the front and the back is a big freaking photograph. It's reversed. Clever. I also like the little "logo" that looks like a backwards smeared S.
Anyway, this track rocks and I kinda want to dig this album out now. It's one of the best accidental finds ever.
If I die and go to hell, I'm gonna chant this song to Satan and kick him the fuck out.

So why did Trent kick him out again?
azaproc 7 months ago
@azaproc he did not. Richard Patrick left NIN due to the fact Trent didn't want to let anyone interfere into NIN sound, thus Patrick form Filter.
thejazz008 6 months ago
@thejazz008 Ok that makes sence...yeaaah cuz i read trent was "abusive" on stage aswell so...thats why i was kinda pondrring

@thejazz008 truth to that, and I am glad that Patrick broke out

from what I remember....
1) I KNOW that the lead singer played lead guitar for NIN on their "pretty hate machine" album (not on the downward spiral)
2) I remember hearing that he was the brother of the guy who played the T1000 in terminator 2.
cant verify #2 but can verify #1
filter is bad as fuck.
one of the best bands of their era....... too bad their second album was too "now lets make everyone like us"

Take some. Swallow you can't miss.
Lets you spend some time in bliss.

What a bomb ! It's been almost 15 years that I listen to this song, and I'm still not healed ... It's so good !

IMHO -
The song, I believe is about Howard Dully; as it turns out, it's Dully's picture that's included in the back of the CD case of Filter's 'Short Bus'.
Google Howard Dully; read his book; listen to the song again, study the lyrics. Both the picture and lyrics will make complete sense.
A great song; a most disturbing story; a most courageous individual.
