I am with Power Brake Service, we do performance brake upgrades and we need to get ahold of any of the Typhoon, Syclone, turbo GM trucks of that era to do a video of. Turbos rob vacuum from the brake booster and we retrofit hydraulic brakes to solve that. I've never been a big fan of GM, but these trucks absolutely make me drool. 10 out of 10 in my book.
We had a couple of them running around town back in the day. Nasty little trucks bone stock. I can only imagine what one would do with some basic mods.
i have an 89 s-10 with the 2.8 auto , took the cat's off of it and im running straight pipes aha.. but this is a classic and original gm sound , nothin will ever come close to sounding this sweet to the ear's
Thats a nice truck. The only problem with it is... since it was designed in 91-93, when you own it long enough, you run into problems with it (just like any old car)... and the other problem is... when u run into problems, no mechanic knows JACK about maintenance of the Syclone/Typhoon.
its just a turbocharged 90's GM V6, anyone who's a licensed mechanic with a little bit of common sense should be able to diagnose and repair most problems. And Besides, if you own one of these, you probably know your way around an engine.
Back in high school, a rich friend of mine had a brand new '91 Syclone. We would go out on the weekends and absolutely kick the hell out of just about any car we lined up with. Beautiful truck.
