The reason for the fifties boom was strong labor and high marginal tax rates. I was there. You'll never see that again until it all comes down around our heads. I'm glad I won't be here to see it. I feel for you, son.

@kyfunster The effect of Strong Labor and High marginal tax rates are a burden on the economy. Both are inflation drivers. High marginal tax rates decrease one incentive to work. The more one is taxed less incentive to work. High marginal tax rates has the effect of shutting down the economy. As far as strong labor and it's benefits just tell a union member all employees in the USA starting tomorrow will become union members making the same money as you. Their reaction would be , " no way"
