@RUSSxT actually, Toonami's Sara came far befor the first Halo game was evern made. Infact it seems like of the design's of Halo seem to come off alot from Toonami's Tom and stuff.

Except for the original dragon ball Toonami was where i first saw all of those anime.

Toonami should have been given its own channel rather than taken off. Can you imagine what that would have been like? With toonami gone any new animes I like come from websites...tv just isn't worth watching now.

Why did toonami get cancelled?

Toonami was canceled due to the fact that many parents were complaining that the network was too 'loud'(as in violent and actiony)

The same reason that Cartoon Network is showing live action---the execs. thought that it was no longer profitable because their past demographic had already grown out of it, so they're trying to target the next generation. Too bad most of their next gen shows are complete rubbish. CN's only redeeming quality now is [adult swim].

Technically Adult Swim is a different channel for ratings purposes, but yeah, the point's still there. I think some of the old Toonami animes are shown late-night there, but I could be wrong.

these days when CN wants to advertise they show us crazyness saying look at our stupidity and special effects.

when Toonami advertised they said look at our characters and some of the issues they deal with, giving us insight into plot and people, making us want to know more about whats being advertised so we don't change the channle.

I keep seeing these tributes on the net, and every time it brings back old memories of the past. When television was good. I remember watching toonami friday, then waiting for midnight run, and waking for morning sun the next day. I pitty this generation of anime viewers, nothing like the good ol' days. Sure Naruto is cool and all, but you still have to appeciate where it all came from, classic toonami and oldschool adult swim...well see you space cowboy........bang!

Toonami has the best intros and promos for shows that i have ever seen in tv. A style like this is no longer in tv even on adult swim. It is just sad that eveything is now reality shows. Their are not quality animes showing on tv. It made me realize that their is more then the simpsons and family guy.Toonami and early Adult Sim is the reason i got into amime.  Thanks RIP Toonami.

I love toonami and it has shaped a good part of my life and others. I miss the mini events like when tom had to fight the blob thing taking over the ship or when they were stuck next to the old ship and all the drones had to go fight. SO many shows so many hours. True Toonami Monday through Friday. Even leaked over into having Midnight run. Sad to see it gone, but I guess better than leaving it to be butchered by the station like they had been treating it.

I did too, it made Tom more then a host and made Toonami more then just a simple network of anime shows. Toonami's style was perfect and Tom was a very good host that did more then simply push the botton and i grew attached to the Character. The Events were fun if short and it made it felt as if things were active and always going in Tom's world besides him just sitting down watching cartoons all day which i am sure he does very often.

I went and made my friken youtube account to comment here. Nice touch by the way with toms last words. Like forest556 that part sunk in hard. I remember toonami back when it first came on. Moltar from space ghost cost to cost would shoot the lil space ship robot out of a cannon and he would fly to earth and be chilln in hanalulu or some island. Moltar was actually the host before tom back then becuse he would pull a switch and press the button and welcome in shows to be continued in next comment

Well Thank You for your comment :) and yes i thought Tom's Last Words would give the video the ending it deserved. I too remember the day of toonami when Moltar was around, but at that time i was very young and i did'nt know anime much back then and the times were rather random till Tom was put as Host. Nothing against Moltar but Toonami really kicked off with me When Tom Hosted it durning most of its years of running.

Thanks Doomerang01, that is a pretty neat idea about the toms but the problem was the time, the max is ten minuted and i did'nt want to take anymore shows off from the line up. Sure i could cut them but thats more work then i need lol, i might make an other one who knows. Now gnbfd0 GT was ok but not as good and. I also like Naruto evern tho many people who like Toonami dont. Face it guys, last two years of Toonami was awful and Naruto was the only show that was keeping them for this long lol.

I miss the first 2 dragonballs. GT was good, but not quite as epic, despite having the most badass villians ever (Baby and Super 17 FTW)

now that I think about it, did CN ever give a reason for killing my childhood? Plus killing the chance of a Shippuden dub? And finishing One Piece? And canceling Jetstream? You know what? **** CN. 4 or 5 good shows can't replace my childhood dammit!

The only thing I could think of that might have made it more awesome is if you mixed cut-ins of the various Toms walking in and pressing the buttons (i.e. Tom 1 walks in, cuts into Tom 2 pressing button, cuts into Tom 3 sitting down). Would have been a great way to show how much Toonami changed over the years.

...Though you could conveniently forget Tom 4 from that lineup. Stupid face-Tom and him not actually doing anything >.>
