@Agent1W It varies. In QTF TFC and FF it's more or less a competitive sport. In tf2 they're mercenaries hired to fight over land owned by either BLUtarch or REDmond Mann.

@asteroidrules The only thing I do know is that the Red Team are the aggressors and the Blue Team are the defenders. Red Team could fight for evil and Blue Team could fight for good, or the opposite could be true also. Basically two men, or gods, are pulling the strings behind the whole thing in a cosmic game of neverending war, and to think of the multitudes of fighting men signing up for either class according to their combat capabilities...this is real deep, man.

I agree with you about not including MegaTF being a travesty, but Q3F and ET:F weren't offically part of the TF Family, as in not made by the Aussies (ie Robin Walker and John Cook) who later joined Valve to create TFC and eventually TF2.

It is true that the MegaTF addon wasn't made by TF Software, but it was indorsed and mearly added weapons like the flares/airstrikes for the sniper.
