  • @MrRailwayStories Those rails that had the buffers that D&D Crashed through aren't in later episodes. Did you put them there only for this episode?

  • Okay, let me be clear. If Douglas simply had been not paying attention to where he was going, THEN he wouldn't have been being careful. It was unfair that he got scolded and punished, because simply put, his brakes had failed. And I'm actually talking about the actual story, not your take on it. I apologzie if I'm coming across as being negative. Your videos are actually very good. But sometimes, unfairness in a story can really get my attention.

  • This was both a great and funny story!

The only thing I can say is this, too:

Now let that be a lesson to you, Douglas!

  • I can still find your AOS Episodes on Dailymotion but I don't think they weren't poorly filmed at all

  • 2:40 Season 1 Freight Cars for the win!

  • Amazing! The ending reminded me of the old Thomas episodes.

  • what scale is olivar and toad

  • @Peterbiltluver OO/4mm by Hornby

  • Wahoo! You've got the Bachmann D&D models!

Two buffer accidents in three days! A whole new record! LOL

Donal sure got himself a good ice-skating skill. ROFL

Aw... Poor Dougie. His nose is still red.

  • where did you get donald from? :)

  • @playstation100001 He got it from Bachmann, where else would you think he got him from?

  • This was wonderful. I always look forward to your episodes. Donald's eyes at the end were animated very well. Keep up the good work!

  • Love the moving eye detail! Hope to see you make more.

  • @MrRailwayStories when's the next episode coming out?

  • What a wait it was for this, but it was quite worth the wait. Good work Dan

  • A similar incident happened on the NNR if I recall only a few years ago, the J15's brake pipe was blocked and the driver couldnt stop her, he thought fast though and quickly turned the reverser. the j15 hit the buffers but then ran steadily backwards into the platform! The pipes were replaced afterwards I believe.

    Nice take on the story!

    Matt

  • Just one thing you should've done for Derek's cameo... you used 'Arry and Bert's horn and not his real horn.

You can get a clean version of his real horn from "The Fogman" since the Foghorn uses his horn.

  • @MrRailwayStories how big is thie layout, is it 4x8 or bigger?

  • I've noticed that the front of your James seems to bounce up and down along the track. Is there any explanation for this? Good remake, by the way.

  • Great Job on adapting one of the recent stories into a TV styled episode!

  • That was incredible! Hope to see more of your models in action!

  • good job

  • Great job Dan! Also, can you tell me where I might find those trucks you used?

  • I think this is a great adaptation. I liked the added lines for TFC and Percy, and the cameos by BoCo and Derek.

I do wonder, though, if one were to use the narration from "Brakevan" as well as the music from where Donald crashes into the signalbox, would it work for the buffer-bashing scenes? Hmm.

I really enjoyed it. Can't wait to see what you've got planned out for the next episode. :)

  • Well done! A superb job on making a recently released RWS story involving the Scottish Twins! Hope you can do more episodes as epic as your first and second episodes! :)

  • did you create AOS, Adventures On Sodor?

  • @BrendenReis10

Originally, back in the earlier year, sadly it only lasted a few episodes, and was poorly filmed, but this new line of episodes is more detailed and alot better.

  • @MrRailwayStories Badly filmed? my arse i loved the original series and thought it rather professional.

  • @MrRailwayStories I really loved Adventures on Sodor! I really loved "Gordon and the UFO" and "Gordon and the Famous Visitor". I thought they were one of the most original Thomas-related videos on Youtube.

Also, I really loved the layout. i would've given anything to have a layout like that.

  • very nice adaption =3 the crash scene was perfectly filmed and the animation of the faces was winning =3 i look forward to your next episode

  • Hey Dan, can you tell me where you got those wonderful trucks? =)

  • amazing!

    really like your episodes.

i love the crash scene. very nicely exicuted.

is there any possabllity that i could voice a character (or maybe even two :P )?

    exellent work :)

  • Weren't you the guy that have done the series railways of sodor?

  • @thomasthetans

Nope, the guy you want for that is, Sparkshot. =)

  • Great adaption from the RWS book 42 story Buffer Bashing and the faces are great two looking forward to episode 3

  • This is a marvellous piece of work Dan, you adapted the story perfectly! I also like how you added an extra scene with the Fat Controller warning Douglas about taking care in sidings before his accident.

Well done, keep up the splendid work! :)

  • Another Brilliant Episode Mate. You always had a skill at making episodes :)

  • Nicely made, poor old Douglas

  • Great work! How do you make the faces? They look BRILLIANT!

  • @TrackMaster555

They are edited with GIMP, an image programme i use to line and colour my artworks from time to time, it saves using photoshop, since i have no idea how to use it. :P

  • A great episode but you really need to cut don the intro as it is really to long.

  • @penninefilms

I apologise if it is too long, but i don't wanna do an intro similar to the TTTE series, there are far to many like that here on youtube already.

  • @MrRailwayStories Your don't need to apologise for the intro its your film do what you like with did. That was juts my personal comment on your video.

  • Nice vid

  • brilliant job, well done :)

  • Did you say you were going to make Tidmouth sheds and Knaphord station.

  • Another great episode. Well done. :)

  • @missoliverandblossom

Thank you very much my friend. :)

  • I felt like I was watching an original episode :)

  • Nicely Done, my friend. :D

  • this story was funny in the rws. Great Job on the episode.

  • A lovely episode, very well done. You are very talented. Keep up the good work!! :D

  • Win, Win, Win.

  • Great Job! I love the moving eyes, and the add in of Sir Topham Hatt warning Douglas about sidings before he had his accident.

  • this was really enjoyable. seeing Donald And Douglas Having buffer Problems Was Very good. but my Favorite Would Have To Be The Crash By Douglas. Perfect RWS Adaptation.

  • @lbbrian

Thanks very much, really do appreciate the feedback. ^^

  • sweet episdoe wats the next ep?

  • This is even better than the last episode. Best of luck with the next episode.

  • Haven't seen you yet I really like the season 1 trucks you have.

  • absolutely epic work as always my friend brilliantly remade and brilliant filming 5 stars all the way ^^

  • @Tomthetrainfan

Thanks again for you're help with it. <3

  • I really love it! Great Work on this episode!

  • Love it, you never fail to amaze me

  • This is really good, and it's closest to a tv adaptation of this story I think we'll see.

I'll admit, at first I thought a Trainz format of this story would be adapted first. But all round, as the Fat Controller would say: "A Fine Piece of Work."

"Buffer Bashing" is my favourite story from the new RWS book.

  • @jivio

    Thanks man. ^^

  • I believe this is your best Episode so far :)

How did you do the red paint on Douglas? :)

  • @RosietheCutie1995

Paint was edited on with GIMP image editor. =)

  • It really is nostalgic to finally see another episode from you feels like the good old days of 2007 and 2008 again :) Great adaption :D

  • Rather enjoyed this, Dan. 2nd crash had an impression of weight so that was good, the 1st one was funny though. PING.

  • @sparkshot

Thank you mate, really appreciate the feedback. =)

  • That was a good adaptation dude =) worth the wait. The crash scenes were impressive and I like the Last scene =).

Altho it really was not Douglas fault for his breaks not working XD

  • i don't get it! douglas' brakes werent working! not HIS fault!!!! why did sir topham hatt scold him?

  • @GeneralLeeStudios

Because in the story, he wasn't being careful, and though the buffers were ruined once before his accident, i'm not surprised that sir topham was cross a second time.

  • How good is your camera for such a good quality close up shot at the end there eh?

Brilliant work here - captures the story perfectly indeed! I like some of the small cameos too from Boco and Derek - background trains always add that little extra bit of realism methinks. Well done once again.

  • @therailwayinspector3

It's quite good, it has macro and super-macro settings for close ups shots even at distant ranges, the video side is good too, but sometimes it does get abit blurred, and ruins alot of good shots.

  • @MrRailwayStories Cameras are tricky like that... my one has a terrible light sensor, so everything comes out darker than it should. Focus is an issue, and it films in AVI which Pinnacle will not accept, which means hours of converting to WMV which loses some of the quality...

  • This is awesome :) fantastic episode and your layout is very nice. is the engine shed a Superquick kit?

  • @Thorpedo619

It is indeed, quite nice for what it is. =)

  • @MrRailwayStories yeah it's a really nice building, I've made the Metcalfe church recently as well as the Metcalfe farmhouse. Card kits are amazing when you think about the level of detail they include :)

  • @Thorpedo619

Totally agree, the level of detail is superb, i use a range of kits for the layout, couple Metcalfe and Superquick kits for the buildings, with a range of PECO and Ratio plastic kits for the station accessories and other little bits and pieces around the layout. ^^

  • @MrRailwayStories sounds good to me bud. I think when I make my layout I'm going to trace around the buildings when I've made them and placed them where I want then I can build up the scenery around the outlines, might even use stone cobbles or something like that sheets so I have a slightly raised edge for the pavement :)

  • Great adaption :) like how you did the crashes., and the closeup of Douglas at the end was good thinkin' :)

  • @TheBlueE2

Thank you very much, really glad you enjoyed the story. ^^

  • If HIT can't replicate RAilway Series stories at the moment, then that means that it is up to the fans to do the work, and this is an example of good work that makes it a great adaptation of one of the most recent thomas stories.

  • @toby070

Thank you again, although it would be nice to see more stories adapted from the works of Christopher Awdry in the Tv Series, it's sad that it isn't going to happen anytime soon.

But it makes it more enjoyable for fans wanting to make their own stories, and i am glad that viwers would like to see more made in model railway form. =)

  • @TMRReturns

Many thanks for the positive feedback, really glad you enjoyed it. =)
