Classic sonic goes through his level without any intro, Modern Sonic sees a weird monster appear, then goes through his level... that he was already in?? And to top that off, there was no explanation as to why, how, or when his friends were turned into colorless versions of themselves. In fact, it seems as though they wanted to put a story in here, but didn't completely follow through on it.
