  • are they tasty?

  • @sigilofbolias They are very tasty so long as you use good seasoning (a bit bland without seasonings). They taste more like lobster or crab than shrimp.

  • Do you need a fishing license to catch them at Strawberry?

  • @xabaras That is a grey area. I'd suggest calling the DNR. I've heard it both ways.

  • @MandoRamosMusic Yes, that is what it is. If you want a cheaper option, try making a trap from a pop bottle. They work really well.

  • Crawfish on your finger- "Haha giant human I will pinch your finga and you will be FORCED to let me go!" You (giant human) - "Screw it there all going in the pot now"

Rest of the living Crawfish in the sink- "YOU STUPID MOFO! NOW WE ARE GOING TO BE BOILED!!!!!!"

  • Memories! I remember a few years ago alton brown on the food network had an episode entirely on crawfish. I went for the first time with my boarding school last year and am hoping to go this summer when I start driving

  • spoils!

Dude..I was born and raised in the south, along with my wife who is from Louisiana..neither one of us were aware of your little poop shoot technique, and we must admit..its awesome!

  • spoils!

  • What were you using for bait in the trap and what was it wrapped in?

  • @lotzoso I used one of my kid's socks stuffed with hotdog chunks for the bait.

  • DOMINATION!@ :D

  • Thanks for the video. I take my boys to Strawberry every year to go crawdad fishing. We use a pole, string and a raw chicken leg tied to the string and a butterfly net to catch the crawdads.. We can get about 3-5 at a time..

  • Man this is a great video! I'm totally hungry!

  • crawfish around my place are on steroids there more like lobsters

  • @TheAirhunter69 These crawfish are a pleasure. All you can eat and fun for the whole family. Soon as it thaws out up there you should give em a try if you haven't already.

  • @nwmanitou ha ha i have to swim deep to get them in the river btw its at a river lol hardley ever do you se them near shore but right now its about 17 degrees outside gets colder and somtimes 20 but im wating for it to warm back up atleast aroun 60 70 so the water will be atleast 30 or 40

  • @teenoutdoorsman Any luck on making a video of you making the Alfredo with them???

  • @lannaboy84 haha unfortunately no. But it's pretty easy. Boil your pasta. Get a can of alfredo sauce, simmer the crawdad meat in the sauce, pour over pasta. Next summer I'm going back. Gonna catch a lot more of them. Actually tempted to bring my mask and fins. See if they are bigger in deeper water.

  • @teenoutdoorsman hahaha, Thanks for the compliment. Funny thing, I used to make Xbox games. I agree though. Growing up I had almost unlimited access to the outdoors but I squandered alot of it. I wish I could go back in time and smack myself now that I realize what I had.

  • @teenoutdoorsman Yup, just boil and peel. Some people enjoy sucking the "brains" from the shell. I just go for the tail and sometimes the claw meat.

  • @teenoutdoorsman Thanks. I was at Strawberry Reservoir in Utah. It's more or less central Utah area. The water was warm and the crawdads slow. A method that works faster than either the net or traps is to simply tie a chicken leg to some string. Throw it out for a minute or two then pull it up and shake off the crawdads into your bucket.

  • Hey! Awesome video. Looked like a lot of fun.

  • great video!!

  • awesome!

  • nice vid

  • Sweet vid bro. Now I'm all hungry. Let's blow off working one of these Saturdays and go get some. Now its pho time.

  • Great video my friend! Loved the princess warrior! and thanks for showing how you cleaned them, do you boil until pink or go longer?

  • @JimboJitsu Thanks jimbo, Once the water is boiling they only need about 3 minutes to cook. After that the meat starts to get tough and shrinks much like overcooked shrimp.

  • @nwmanitou You have me thinking, I have a 15x60 foot pond liner piece I really would like making a shrimp and crayfish series of ponds out of...

  • Nice bro, wish I could have been there with you instead of where I am!!

  • Dude, you make it look too easy.

  • I really enjoyed the video. I grew up on a farm in Louisiana where we commercially fish these guys (maybe a little bigger and a WHOLE lot meaner). Enjoy however you cooked them.

  • @johncajunmanbrown I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Yeah, these guys were really laid back. I was surprised by how easy it was to catch them. I got nipped a few times, a couple of times on purpose to show the kids. Next time I'm bringing a large trap to harvest enough for a proper crawfish boil. I understand that they are even larger over by the dam.
