  • Can you post the entire episode?

  • "Quit eatin' my Oreo cookies, ya hairy ass!"

  • The thing i like as peter Falk he always gives them the chance to come clean.

  • If all cops would be more like colombo and not like inspector callaghan, the world would be a better place. And the crime rate would drop significally too.

  • "i like my job, i like it a lot". love that line

  • RIP Detective.

  • "The world is full of nice people," says Lt. Colombo. Let's hope it's full of people like Peter Falk.

  • RIP Peter Falk. :(

  • Great actor

He will always be in our harts !!

  • Rest in peace Mr. Falk.

    Columbo was GREAT!!!!

  • RIP, Lt. Columbo.

  • I remember this episode :). The guy that died left a message for the cops, written in his own blood, i think. Something about a lightbulb... Colombo was talking to the nice old lady directly. She was the murderer he was talking about...

  • Colombo n 1

  • Awesome speech and philosophy from the main character of the best feel-good detective series ever.

  • I have this episode on dvd...classic...great "impromptu" speech I must say...My fav episode is "Suitable for Framing"...the last scene in that was priceless...I hear THE MAN is not doing well these days...I hope he is peaceful and content. One of my all time fav TV heroes...he is inspirational.

  • is the old lady a killer? usually they always focus the camera on columbo and the killer in each episode

  • Great episode! Ruth Gordon is my favorite actor in the series

  • Thanks for posting this interesting insight in Colombo's mind.

  • You are welcome. Thanks for the comment :)

  • You are welcome too :)

  • Yes, Ruth Gordon is the woman who played Maude in Harold & Maude, a great movie.

  • Thanks for sharing it with us :)

  • Priceless. He was addressing Abigail (Ruth Gordon) specifically, letting her know that he knew she killed her nephew Edmund. No spoiler here: as with all Columbo episodes, we're in on it from the beginning.

  • Most of the Columbo episodes are start with the identity of the killer but not all...For example, Last Salute to the Commodore (1976), in that episode the identity of the killer is revealed at the end :)

  • Commodore's watch.

  • :) LOL

  • is'nt the lady that introduces him the ame lady that starred in "Harold & Maud"?

  • Is it, I am not sure...Never watched Harold and Maud....Could someone please answer this question. Thanks :)

  • That's the Colombo I remember.

    Smart, patient and warm.

    Loved that series.

  • i remember this episode the killer is the lady who introduces columbo....what a great casts.

  • It's a superb cast, thanks for the comment :)

  • Columbo sees the positive side of life and the inherent good in humanity.

  • Absolutely, he sees the glass half full :) Thanks for the comment :)

  • This was my favourite episode as a kid. Cos i knew Ruth Gordon from my dad's fave movie Every Which Way But Loose. But in this episode, as in many more, and as much as I love Columbo, there's a silly scene; one that makes you cringe, like his speech to the Ladies' Club in this with the forced laughter, and the ridiculous scene in an earlier episode in which the murderess takes him up in an aeroplane and she makes him take the controls!

  • Yes, that's Columbo...sometimes silly, sometimes ridiculous...But always going for the jugular..Thanks for the comment :)

  • Everyone please check youtube com / detectivesforever for more Columbo

  • This is a great episode indeed. Everythng in it clicks. From Ruth Gordon's performance to the score. This is also a transitional episode in the way Peter Falk played the character. From the original, energetic and seemingly wide-eyed bumbler to the more morose and cerebral veteran. In this episode he was still somewhere in between. I personally prefer the approach. of seasons 1 through 5.

  • Thanks for the comment Ray...I like the words you prosed...wide-eye bumbler and cerebral veteran. You should be a writer :D

  • My favorite Columbo episode. Ruth Gordon is terrific--and a very sympathetic murderer.

  • What is that episode about?

  • It's about a mystery writer murdering the husband of his late niece, whom she suspected she suspected as the killer of her niece!

  • The episode is Try and Catch Me (1977) about an author killing his nephew-in-law, check the mail I have sent a detailed reply :)

  • i talk better when this is lit .... haha (...and i do think better when it is lit too ... )

    :D

  • Yes, totally :)

  • My favourite episode is "The Most Crucial Game".

  • columbo is the main man!

  • He is!!! :D

  • I agree with Sir Laurence. This was probably the best Columbo ever. Thanks for posting!

  • Yes, it is one of the best episodes...

Yet, something tragic about the reason for murder...and Columbo says don't rely on his kindness...He is obviously sad too...

    Thank you for the comment

  • This is my favourite Columbo episode. I love Ruth Gordon, who is the murderer. Thanks for uploading this!

  • You are welcome SirLaurenceOliver...it's been a pleasure..

  • @SirLaurenceOlivier Just one more thing....Which episode is this?

  • @cafeflorab4 This is "Try and Catch Me" from season 7

  • @SirLaurenceOlivier

Thanks for telling me who the murderer is- now I don't need to watch this episode!

  • @repose1983 You are either being sarcastic, or you have never watched a single episode of Columbo.

  • Great speech, and great episode!!!

  • Thank you Kary :)
